＜正＞Twenty-one patients with primary high-grade advanced gastric cancer in whom the presence of stage ? was con- firmed by preoperative diagnostic imaging,were treated with a wide-spectrum regimen,designated as FEPMTX therapy to establish an effective salvage *** therapy consisted of 5-fluorouracil（5-FU）and the triple biochemical modulators;methotrexate（MTX）,calcium leucovorin（LV）,cisplatin（CDDP）,and in addition of epiru- bicin（EPI）.The schedule comprised 3 days continuous administration of 5-FU（350 mg/m2/day）and MTX（35 mg/ m2）on day 1,LV（30 mg/m2）on the day 2,LV（30 mg/m2）and CDDP（30 mg/m2）and EPI（20 mg/m2）on day *** treatment was performed two or more courses with 2 weeks interval in *** partial responses（PR）, five no changes（NC）and five progressive diseases（PD）were obtained,and the response rate was 52%.Ten patients （PR 7,NC 2,PD 1）were received gastrectomy（resectability rate 48%）.The survival in all cases resulted in median survival of 184 days and one-year survival rate of 23%.While there is no significant difference insurvival between the cases with or without the resection of the primary lesion,the survival of responders was significantly longer than that of non-responders（median survival time;responder 356days,non-responder 152days）.Adverse effects such as myelo- suppression and anorexia and fatigue sometimes occurred,but were mild and all the patients well *** therapy is thought to be an effective regimen for neoadjuvant chemotherapy with longer survival and little toxic for patients with stage?gastric cancer.

Background No study has thoroughly compared the effectiveness of combined antiplatelet treatments(other than clopidogrel–aspirin)versus clopidogrel–aspirin or aspirin alone for early secondary prevention in acute ischaemic *** We identified patients with acute,minor,non-cardiogenic ischaemic stroke treated with aspirin alone,clopidogrel–aspirin or other combination *** scores considering the inverse probability of treatment weighting were used to adjust for baseline *** primary outcome was the composite of all strokes(ischaemic or haemorrhagic),myocardial infarction and all-cause mortality at 3 *** Among 12234 patients(male:61.9%;age:65.5±13 years)who met the eligibility criteria,aspirin,clopidogrel–aspirin and other combination treatments were administered in 52.2%,42.9%and 4.9%of patients,*** the crude analysis,the primary outcome event at 3 months occurred in 14.5%of the other combination group,14.4%of the aspirin group and 13.0%of the clopidogrel–aspirin *** the weighted Cox proportional hazards analysis,the 3-month primary outcome event occurred less frequently in the clopidogrel–aspirin group than in the other combination group(weighted HR:0.82(0.59–1.13)),while no association was found between the aspirin group(weighted HR:1.04(0.76–1.44))or other combination group and the 3-month primary *** Other combined antiplatelet treatment,compared with aspirin alone or clopidogrel–aspirin,was not associated with reduced risks of primary composite vascular events or recurrent stroke during the first 3 months after ***,the results suggest that other combination treatments,particularly the cilostazol-based combination,may not be effective alternatives for clopidogrel–aspirin to prevent early vascular events in patients with acute minor *** exploration in clinical trials will be needed.

目的评价16S核糖体RNA(rRNA)基因测序在肝脓疡中细菌鉴定中的应用价值。方法2012年1月—2013年12月间共20例肝脓疡行经皮置管引流的患者,分别行脓液培养,血培养和16S rRNA基因测序。利用454 GS Junior System对脓液基因组DNA行PCR和16S rRNA基因测序。脓液培养,血液培养和16S rRNA基因测序结果进行分别评价。结果脓液和血液培养阳性的患者分别是9例(45%)和4例(20%)。16S rRNA基因测序细菌鉴定率为90%,明显高于传统的培养方法。结论 16S rRNA基因测序方法较传统的培养方法能更准确和有效对肝脓疡进行细菌鉴定。

Early Ordovician (Late Tremadoc) graptolites are procured from the nine sections of the Yeongwol area, Korea: the Dojang-gol, Ugga-gol, Karae-jae, Ppelchigol, dae-gol, Myungjeon, Namaeri, Dumok, Namkyo Sections, which contain the boundary between the Mungok and Yeonghung Formations. The boundary between the Mungok and Yeongheung Formations reveals the ribbon rock, marlstone to shale, and grainstone to packstone facies of the Mungok Formation, and the thin laminated lime mudstone, bioturbated limestone, and wackestone to grainstone facies of the Yeongheung Formation.

AIM: To investigate the anti-diabetogenic mechanism of Nardostachys jatamansi extract (NJE). METHODS: Mice were injected with streptozotocin viaa tail vein to induce diabetes. Rat insulinoma RINm5F cells and isolated rat islets were treated with interleukin1β and interferon-γ to induce cytotoxicity. RESULTS: Treatment of mice with streptozotocin resulted in hyperglycemia and hypoinsulinemia, which was conf irmed by immunohistochemical staining of the islets. The diabetogenic effects of streptozotocin were completely abolished when mice were pretreated with NJE. Inhibition of streptozotocin-induced hyperglycemia by NJE was mediated by suppression of nuclear factor (NF)-κB activation. In addition, NJE protected against cytokine-mediated cytotoxicity. Incubation of RINm5F cells and islets with NJE resulted in a signif icant reduction in cytokine-induced NF-κB activation and downstream events, inducible nitric oxide synthase expression and nitric oxide production. The protective effect of NJE was further demonstrated by the normal insulin secretion of cytokine-treated islets in response to glucose. CONCLUSION: NJE provided resistance to pancreatic β-cell damage from cytokine or streptozotocin treatment. The β-cell protective effect of NJE is mediated by suppressing NF-κB activation.

The paper reports the fabrication of Zn-doped TiO_2 nanotubes(Zn-TONT)/ZnO nanoflakes heterostructure for the first time,which shows improved performance as a photoanode in dye-sensitized solar cell(DSSC).The layered structure of this novel nanoporous structure has been analyzed unambiguously by Rutherford backscattering spectroscopy,scanning electron microscopy,and X-ray *** cell using the heterostructure as photoanode manifests an enhancement of about an order in the magnitude of the short circuit current and a seven-fold increase in efficiency,over pure TiO_2 *** further reveal that the Zn-TONT is preferentially oriented in [001] direction and there is a Ti metal-depleted interface layer which leads to better band alignment in DSSC.

Multiple z-Score Based Method for Noninvasive Prenatal Test Using Cell-Free DNA in Maternal Plasma

Objective: To improve the detecting accuracy of chromosomal aneuploidy of fetus by non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT) using next generation sequencing data of pregnant women’s cell-free DNA. Methods: We proposed the multi-Z method which uses 21 z-scores for each autosomal chromosome to detect aneuploidy of the chromosome, while the conventional NIPT method uses only one z-score. To do this, mapped read numbers of a certain chromosome were normalized by those of the other 21 chromosomes. Average and standard deviation (SD), which are used for calculating z-score of each sample, were obtained with normalized values between all autosomal chromosomes of control samples. In this way, multiple z-scores can be calculated for 21 autosomal chromosomes except oneself. Results: Multi-Z method showed 100% sensitivity and specificity for 187 samples sequenced to 3 M reads while the conventional NIPT method showed 95.1% specificity. Similarly, for 216 samples sequenced to 1 M reads, Multi-Z method showed 100% sensitivity and 95.6% specificity and the conventional NIPT method showed a result of 75.1% specificity. Conclusion: Multi-Z method showed higher accuracy and robust results than the conventional method even at low coverage reads.

Effects of PEG Priming and Fungicide Treatment on Kenaf(Hibiscus cannabinus L.)Seed Germination

An experiment was conducted in the Jeollabuk-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services,Korea from February to June 2017,to study the effect of polyethylene glycol(PEG)on the germination of kenaf seeds variety‘Jangdae’,which treated with seven PEG concentrations(0%,10%,20%,25%,30%,35%and 40%)for 24 h at 20°C in the dark,and evaluate the effect of fungicide on surging kenaf seed germination in the *** showed that the critical concentration rate needed to hasten germination based on germination percentage,times to reach 50%of the final germination rate(T50)and mean *** days to germination(MDG)is using 10%PEG.A maximum germination rate of 83.8%using hydro-priming(HP)(seed treated with HP)was observed during the first 12 h of *** control’s(Jangdae seed)germination increased sharply and reached a maximum germination rate of 53.2%on the 21st day in the *** 21 d,germination of all priming treatments ranged from 13.8%to 26.3%.The palisade layer(PAL)after priming treatment was more damaged than that of the ***,a significant difference on the acid level between the control and PEG priming treatment(p<0.05)was *** was also found out that seed modifications after priming could affect in the field.A fungicide called“Tiram”was used after priming to help kenaf seeds decrease T50 and MDG,and increase germination *** showed that application of fungicide after priming optimizes seed germination and ***,it is recommended to invigorate the kenaf seed before planting.

Characteristics of Kenaf(Hibiscus cannabinus L.) Mutants Induced by Gamma-Ray

Kenaf (Hibiscus cannabinus L.) is known as a multipurpose crop producing biomass for energy thus, the study was conducted to select the elite mutants with higher biomass produced through mutation. Obtained from the National Agricultural Genetic Resources Center (NAGRC) in Korea, the seeds of the original natural resource named IT202801 (control) were irradiated with 250 Gy gamma-ray. The agronomic performances, genetic variation and histological analysis of the elite mutant lines were investigated at M2 generation in comparison with the control. Significant differences were observed from the previous three evaluations of the eight mutants. Nine plants, including the control and eight mutants, had little difference in the number of flowering days from July 23 to July 25. The leaf shape of the control was entire, while the leaf shape of the mutant was palmate. Of the eight lines, M2IT20-5 showed better performance in regard to diameter, dry weight and seed weight per plant. The random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) analysis produced a genetic diversity of 72.7% within the genotypes used. A dendrogram was constructed based on the RAPD fragments. Differentiation was demonstrated between the control and kenaf mutants. Taken together, the mutant line, M2IT20-5, can be useful as a resource for high biomass production.
