In this study,the spatiotemporal variability of trends in extreme precipitation events in Ho Chi Minh City during the period 1980–2017 was analyzed based on several core extreme precipitation indices(Rx1 da.,Rx5 da.,CDD,CWD,R20 mm,R25 mm,R95 p,and SDII).The nonparametric Mann–Kenda.l and Sen’s slope methods were used to compute the statistical strength,stability,and magnitude of trends in annual rainfall,as well as the extreme precipitation *** found that 64%of the stations had statistically significant upward trends in yearly rainfall,with high magnitudes frequently observed in the northern and southern regions of the *** the extreme precipitation indices,only SDII and R25 mm showed dominantly significant ***,there were increasing trends in the frequency and duration at the southern and central regions of the city during the study ***,El Ni?o-Southern Oscillation and Pacific Decada. Oscillation positively correlated with the duration and negatively correlated with the intensity and frequency of extreme ***,water management plans should be adjusted appropriately to reduce the severe impacts of precipitation extremes on communities and ecosystems.

In recent years,droughts have strongly affected the Central Highlands of Vietnam and have resulted in crop da.age,yield decline,and serious water *** study investigated the livelihood vulnerability of five communities of farmers who are exposed to droughts in one of the more vulnerable regions of Vietnam—da. Nong Province.A survey of 250 households was conducted in the five communities to collect da.a on the region’s sociodemographic profile,livelihood systems,social networks,health status,food and water security,drought conditions,and climate *** were aggregated using a livelihood vulnerability index and the IPCC vulnerability *** survey results indicate that Quang Phu community is the most vulnerable of the study’s communities,followed by Nam N’dir,da. Nang,Duc Xuyen,and da. D’ro in descending order of *** availability and livelihood strategies are the most important variables in determining the vulnerability of the five surveyed *** order to reduce vulnerability to droughts,water management practices and livelihood diversification in farming and nonfarming activities are recommended for the study area.

AIM To examine the practice pattern in Kaiser Permanente Southern California(KPSC), i.e., gastroenterology(GI)/surgery referrals and endoscopic ultrasound(EUS), for pancreatic cystic neoplasms(PCNs) after the regionwide dissemination of the PCN management *** Retrospective review was performed; patients with PCN diagnosis given between April 2012 and April 2015(18 mo before and after the publication of the algorithm) in KPSC(integrated health system with 15 hospitals and 202 medical offices in Southern California) were ***2558(1157 pre-and 1401 post-algorithm) received a new diagnosis of PCN in the study period. There was no difference in the mean cyst size(pre-19.1 mm vs post-18.5 mm, P = 0.119). A smaller percentage of PCNs resulted in EUS after the implementation of the algorithm(pre-45.5% vs post-34.8%, P < 0.001). A smaller proportion of patients were referred for GI(pre-65.2% vs post-53.3%, P < 0.001) and surgery consultations(pre-24.8% vs post-16%, P < 0.001) for PCN after the implementation. There was no significant change in operations for PCNs. Cost of diagnostic care was reduced after the implementation by 24%, 18%, and 36% for EUS, GI, and surgery consultations, respectively, with total cost saving of 24%.CONCLUSION In the current healthcare climate, there is increased need to optimize resource utilization. Dissemination of an algorithm for PCN management in an integrated health system resulted in fewer EUS and GI/surgery referrals, likely by aiding the physicians ordering imaging studies in the decision making for the management of PCNs. This translated to cost saving of 24%, 18%, and 36% for EUS, GI, and surgical consultations, respectively, with total diagnostic cost saving of 24%.

Assessment of Agricultural Soil Quality Indices Using Mechanistic Models

Assessing soil quality is a critical strategy for diagnosing soil status and anticipating concerns in land use systems for agricultural sustainability. In this study, two soil quality assessment indices, the Integrated Quality Index (IQI) and Nemoro Quality Index (NQI), were employed using two indicator selection methods: Total da.a Set (TDS) and Minimum da.a Set (MDS), focusing on agricultural fields in Golestan province, Iran. A total of 89 soil samples were collected and analyzed for particle size distribution, organic carbon, calcium carbonate equivalent (CCE), electrical conductivity (EC), pH, and plant-essential nutrients, including nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, zinc, copper, manganese, and iron. Principal component analysis (PCA) was used to extract MDS from TDS, and geostatistical ada.tation and correlation analyses were performed to determine the optimal soil quality evaluation index. Our results show that the exponential model better suits the spatial structure of soil quality indicators (IQIMDS: 0.955). Conformity and correlation analyses indicate that the IQI index outperformed the NQI index in estimating soil quality. The superiority of the TDS technique over the MDS technique in terms of accuracy (IQITDSs kappa: 0.155). Linear relationships between different methods showed a higher correlation coefficient (R2 = 0.43) through the application of IQI. This study suggests the use of IQIMDS to provide a reliable measurement that is particularly useful in assessing the quality of agricultural soil.

1项目背景 “水田共生复合养殖摩天楼”，这是我们提出的一个概念，通过我们现有的科技，解决世界上最严重的问题，即过度甚至失控的人口增长造成的粮食危机，并且由于城市化与交通运输造成的环境与空气质量的恶化。我们选择北京为研究城市，他拥有大多数超级城市的特点与缺陷，同时又是一个很特殊的样本。北京在35年间，由一座仅有750万人口的城市成长为现在拥有2300万人口的超级城市。根据预测2050年北京的人口将达到5000万人。城市发展对原有农业结构造成了很大的影响。现今的北京仅仅22%的瓜果蔬菜可以自给自足，根据统计及预测，2050年之前，北京的可耕作土地将必定趋近于0%。现今北京城区拥有25个重要的交通枢纽，当然，对于一个2000万人口的城市，这还是不够的。
