FAM53B promotes pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma metastasis by regulating macrophage M2 polarization

BACKGROUND Our study investigated the role of FAM53B in regulating macrophage M2 polarization and its potential mechanisms in promoting pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PdaC)*** To further investigate the role of FAM53B in regulating macrophage M2 polarization and its potential mechanism in promoting PdaC *** goal is to determine how FAM53B affects macrophage M2 polarization and to define its underlying mechanism in PdaC *** Cell culture and various experiments,including protein analysis,immunohisto-chemistry,and animal model experiments,were *** compared FAM53B expression between PdaC tissues and healthy tissues and assessed the correlation of FAM53B expression with clinical *** study analyzed the role of FAM53B in macrophage M2 polarization in vitro by examining the expression of relevant ***,we used a murine model to study the role of FAM53B in PdaC metastasis and analyzed the potential underlying *** Our research showed that there was a significant increase in FAM53B levels in PdaC tissues,which was linked to adverse tumor *** findings indicated that FAM53B can enhance macrophage M2 polarization,leading to increased anti-inflammatory factor *** results from the mouse model further supported the role of FAM53B in PdaC metastasis,as blocking FAM53B prevented tumor cell invasion and *** FAM53B promotes PdaC metastasis by regulating macrophage M2 *** discovery could lead to the development of new strategies for treating *** example,interfering with the FAM53B signaling pathway may prevent cancer *** research findings also provide important information for expanding our understanding of PdaC pathogenesis.

T-2 toxin is one of the most widespread and toxic fungal toxins in food and feed. It can cause gastrointestinal toxicity, hepatotoxicity, immunotoxicity, reproductive toxicity, neurotoxicity, and nephrotoxicity in humans and animals. T-2 toxin is physicochemically stable and does not readily degrade during food and feed processing. Therefore, suppressing T-2 toxin-induced organ toxicity through antidotes is an urgent issue. Protective agents against the organ toxicity of T-2 toxin have been recorded widely in the literature, but these protective agents and their molecular mechanisms of detoxification have not been comprehensively summarized. In this review, we provide an overview of the various protective agents to T-2 toxin and the molecular mechanisms underlying the detoxification effects. Targeting appropriate targets to antagonize T-2 toxin toxicity is also an important option. This review will provide essential guidance and strategies for the better application and development of T-2 toxin antidotes specific for organ toxicity in the future.

Influence of crystal-transforming agent on the performance and mechanism ofα-high-strength gypsum prepared from FGD gypsum

This paper investigates the impact of flue gas desulfurization(FGD)gypsum's crystal modifier on the characteristics and microcosmic mechanism ofα-high strength *** results demonstrate that all three crystal modifiers can convert FGD gypsum toα-high-strength *** acid(CA)has the most significant influence onα-high-strength gypsum,and the preparedα-high-strength gypsum is short columnar,with an aspect ratio in the range of 1-3,and has a faster setting time,a larger specific surface area,and a smaller standard consistency,higher compressive strength,greater surface hardness,and smaller crystal particle *** initial setting time of theα-high-strength gypsum manufactured with CA crystal modifier was decreased by 36%compared to the blank sample,the final setting time was lowered by 37.5%,and the water consumption of the standard consistency was reduced by 8%.The maximum strength is 32 MPa after 2 h,the absolute dry compressive strength is up to 38 MPa,and the surface hardness is improved by 24.43%.

An ensemble-based likelihood ratio approach for family-based genomic risk prediction

Objective: As one of the most popular designs used in genetic research, family-based design has been well recognized for its advantages, such as robustness against population stratification and admixture. With vast amounts of genetic data collected from family-based studies, there is a great interest in studying the role of genetic markers from the aspect of risk prediction. This study aims to develop a new statistical approach for family-based risk prediction analysis with an improved prediction accuracy compared with existing methods based on family history. Methods: In this study, we propose an ensemble-based likelihood ratio(ELR) approach, Fam-ELR, for family-based genomic risk prediction. Fam-ELR incorporates a clustered receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curve method to consider correlations among family samples, and uses a computationally efficient tree-assembling procedure for variable selection and model building. Results: Through simulations, Fam-ELR shows its robustness in various underlying disease models and pedigree structures, and attains better performance than two existing family-based risk prediction methods. In a real-data application to a family-based genome-wide dataset of conduct disorder, Fam-ELR demonstrates its ability to integrate potential risk predictors and interactions into the model for improved accuracy, especially on a genome-wide level. Conclusions: By comparing existing approaches, such as genetic risk-score approach, Fam-ELR has the capacity of incorporating genetic variants with small or moderate marginal effects and their interactions into an improved risk prediction model. Therefore, it is a robust and useful approach for high-dimensional family-based risk prediction, especially on complex disease with unknown or less known disease etiology.

Prenatal amoxicillin exposure induces developmental toxicity in fetal mice and its characteristics

Amoxicillin,a widely used antibiotic in human and veterinary pharmaceuticals,is now considered as an“emerging contaminant”because it exists widespreadly in the environment and brings a series of adverse ***,systematic studies about the developmental toxicity of amoxicillin are still *** explored the potential effects of amoxicillin exposure on pregnancy outcomes,maternal/fetal serum phenotypes,and fetal multiple organ development in mice,at different doses(75,150,300 mg/(kg·day))during late-pregnancy,or at a dose of 300 mg/(kg·day)during different stages(mid-/latepregnancy)and courses(single-/multi-course).Results showed that prenatal amoxicillin exposure(PAmE)had no significant infuence on the body weights of dams,but it could inhibit the physical development and reduce the survival rate of fetuses,especially during the ***,PAmE altered multiple maternal/fetal serum phenotypes,especially in *** multi-organ function results showed that PAmE inhibited testicular/adrenal steroid synthesis,long bone/cartilage and hippocampal development,and enhanced ovarian steroid synthesis and hepatic glycogenesis/lipogenesis,and the order of severity might be gonad(testis,ovary)>liver>*** analysis found that PAmE-induced multiorgan developmental and functional alterations had differences in stages,courses and fetal gender,and the most obvious changes might be in high-dose,late-pregnancy and multicourse,but there was no typical rule of a dose-response *** conclusion,this study confirmed that PAmE could cause abnormal development and multi-organ function alterations,which deepens our understanding of the risk of PAmE and provides an experimental basis for further exploration of the long-term harm.

RiSw:resistant to incomplete shooting watermarking scheme

Leaking data through screen-shooting has become the main way of modern *** watermarking technology can trace the leaker through the watermark information after the data is *** current screen-shooting watermarking scheme can resist part of the distortion in the screen-shooting process,but it faces two *** the one hand,the watermark capacity is *** the other hand,when the shot watermarked image is incomplete,high watermark extraction accuracy cannot be *** on the above problems,we propose a resistant to incomplete shooting watermarking(Ri Sw)***,we design a set of codecs that can embed binary images as watermarks into carrier images and extract them,which not only ensures good visual effects of watermarked image,but also greatly increases watermark *** resist incomplete shooting,we propose an incomplete shooting layer to simulate the situation of incomplete shooting in the screen-shooting *** to incomplete shooting can be achieved through end-to-end *** experiments show that the scheme proposed in this paper has superior *** if the watermarked image lacks 50%pixels,it can still maintain a stable extraction accuracy.

The security of Federated Learning(FL)/Distributed Machine Learning(DML)is gravely threatened by data poisoning attacks,which destroy the usability of the model by contaminating training samples,so such attacks are called causative availability indiscriminate *** the problem that existing data sanitization methods are hard to apply to real-time applications due to their tedious process and heavy computations,we propose a new supervised batch detection method for poison,which can fleetly sanitize the training dataset before the local model *** design a training dataset generation method that helps to enhance accuracy and uses data complexity features to train a detection model,which will be used in an efficient batch hierarchical detection *** model stockpiles knowledge about poison,which can be expanded by retraining to adapt to new *** neither attack-specific nor scenario-specific,our method is applicable to FL/DML or other online or offline scenarios.

The recently discovered,extremely proton-rich nuclide 18 Mg exhibits ground-state decay via two sequential two-proton(2p)emissions through the intermediate nucleus,*** study investigates the structure and the initial 2p decay mechanism of^(18)Mgby examining the density and correlations of the valence protons using a three-body Gamow coupled-channel *** results show that the ground state of^(18)Mgis significantly influenced by the continuum,resulting in a significant s-wave ***,based on the current framework,this does not lead to a significant deviation in mirror symmetry in either the structure or spectroscopy of the 18Mg-18C ***,the time evolution analysis of the^(18)Mgground state suggests a simultaneous 2p emission during the first step of *** observed nucleon-nucleon correlations align with those of the light-mass 2p emitters,indicating a consistent decay behavior within this nuclear region.

Study on the influence of food emulsion components on its lubrication characteristics and smooth perception

Due to the increasing risk of obesity and cardiovascular diseases caused by high-fat diets,low-fat foods have become a priority demand for consumers’***,the smoothness perception and scientific assessment methods of the existing low-fat foods should be *** this study,three food emulsions were prepared,and their lubrication characteristics,sensory evaluation of smoothness,and electroencephalogram(EEG)signals were assessed to preliminarily investigate the effects of food emulsion components on their above *** results showed that fat substitute(FSU)and fat could significantly reduce coefficient of friction(CoF)of the food emulsions,with average CoF reduced by 28%and 63%compared to the original food *** addition,fat-enriched food emulsions continued to exhibit excellent lubrication characteristics after adding artificial saliva,with an average CoF reduced by 31.1%compared to that of the food emulsions without artificial *** FSU and fat improved the smoothness of food emulsions,and the lubricating properties of fat were more pronounced,with fat-enriched food emulsion which could provide a substantial improvement in smoothness compared to the fat-free food *** of subjects’EEG signals revealed that food emulsion with lower CoF and higher smoothness triggered higher P3 amplitudes and longer *** findings provide better insights into the scientific evaluation of food texture and the development of low-fat foods.
