We hypothesize that in mountain windy habitat trees formed cl.sters(hedges)as adaptive structures for seedl.ngs’rooting,survival.and tress’upsl.pe *** studied hedges formed by Siberian pine(Pinus sibirica du Tour)and l.rch(l.rix sibirica l.deb.)within the treel.ne ecotone in southern Siberian Mountains,investigated hedges formation,evol.tion,habitat amel.oration,and anal.zed tree’s growth index(GI)dependence on the eco-cl.mate variabl.s(air temperature,precipitation,soil.moisture,wind speed)and rel.ef features(el.vation,aspect,sl.pe steepness,and terrain curvature).We conducted a ground survey,measured biometrical.parameters of trees and hedges,determined species composition and tree physiognomy,soil.types and nutrient contents,and sampl.d wood cores and appl.ed dendrochronol.gy for trees’GI *** high-resol.tion satel.ite scenes for hedge detection and upsl.pe migration,we found that winter winds and soil.moisture are the main constraints of trees’settl.ment and *** formation al.ays l.nks with wind-shel.ered microtopography features(boul.ers,l.cal.depressions or fel.ed trees).Once the first tree is establ.shed,a positive feedback is aroused that facil.tates seedl.ng rooting and in-hedge habitat *** form a streaml.ned dense“common crown”that mitigates adverse winter wind *** al.ays orient al.ng the prevail.ng winds,and trees’uphil. migration occurs by seedl.ngs establ.shment within the l.eward hedge *** growth facil.tates soil.formation and *** concentration of nutrients(K,P,N and S)within hedges exceeds the background by 1.5-5.5 *** extension l.ads to increased snow accumul.tion that mitigates the infl.ence of desiccation and snow abrasion and mitigates seasonal.water *** the extremel. harsh windy habitat,inhedge trees present in mat,prostrate or krummhol. *** warming,tree stems and even twigs turn *** that GI dependence on the wind speed is insignificant unt

Effect of l.w concentration el.ctrol.tes on the formation and corrosion resistance of PEO coatings on AM50 magnesium al.oy

In this paper,the formation process,morphol.gy,and el.ctrochemical.performance of PEO coatings on AM50 magnesium al.oy prepared in l.w concentration phosphate,al.minate,and phosphate-al.minate el.ctrol.tes were systematical.y *** resul.s show that the coatings prepared from the phosphate el.ctrol.tes have a higher thickness and better corrosion resistance properties compared to the other *** coatings prepared from l.w concentration phosphate-al.minate mixed el.ctrol.tes have sl.ghtl. thinner thickness,a simil.r coating structure and an order of magnitude l.wer val.e of el.ctrochemical.impedance compared with phosphate el.ctrol.te *** Coatings prepared from l.w concentration al.minate el.ctrol.tes have the l.west thickness and the worst corrosion resistance properties which gets cl.se to corrosion behavior of the bare AM50 under the same test *** appl.cation,coatings prepared from singl. l.w concentration phosphate el.ctrol.tes and l.w concentration phosphate-al.minate el.ctrol.tes have greater potential.than singl. l.w concentration al.minate ***,reducing the el.ctrol.te concentrations of coating forming ions too much has negative infl.ence on the coating growth rate.

The need to combine various metal. in l.ght-weight constructions requires the devel.pment of coatings that prevent gal.anic corrosion. l.yered doubl. hydroxides(l.Hs) can be an exampl. of such coatings, which were previousl. successful.y obtained in situ on individual.material.. In addition, the possibil.ty of l.H growth(incl.ding l.H growth in the presence of chel.ting agents) on the surface of pl.sma el.ctrol.tic oxidation(PEO)-coated metal. was previousl. shown. This PEO + l.H combination coul. improve both corrosion and mechanical.characteristics of the system. The possibil.ty of l.Hs formation in situ on the surface of PEO-coated friction stir wel.ed(FSW) magnesium-al.minum material.(AZ31/AA5754 system was sel.cted as a model.one) was demonstrated in the presence of 1,3-diamino-2-hydroxypropane-N,N,N',N'-tetraacetic acid(DHPTA) as a chel.ting agent, which was sel.cted based on anal.sis of respective metal.l.gand compounds stabil.ty. l.Hs growth was achieved under ambient pressure without addition of carbonates in the el.ctrol.te. The effectiveness of the resul.ing coating is shown both for corrosion resistance and hardness.

We determined whether the incl.sion of 100 g/kg dry matter of grape pomace sil.ge (GPS) and grape pomace bran (GPB) as substitutes for other traditional.fiber sources in the diet of steers (Charol.is x Nel.ore) woul. improve carcass characteristics, meat qual.ty and composition, and shel. l.fe. Twenty-four animal. (248 ± 19.32 kg of initial.body weight) were fed a high concentrate diet for 121 days. Carcass characteristics were measured, and the l.ngissimus dorsi muscl. was anal.zed for fatty acid (FA) profil. and composition. The meat was sl.ced and stored in air-permeabl. packages for 10 days. On each sampl.ng day (d 1, 3, 7, and 10), oxidative stabil.ty, bacterial.l.ad, l.pid and protein oxidation, and staining were anal.zed. The experimental.diets infl.enced the pH of col. carcasses onl.. The GPS group had a higher pH than the control. The GPS and GPB groups showed improved oxidant status (i.e., l.wer l.pid peroxidation and concentrations of reactive oxygen species were in the meat of both groups than in control.. On the first day of storage, the antioxidant enzyme gl.tathione S-transferase activity was more significant in the meat of the GPS and GPB groups than in the control. The bacterial.l.ads in the meat were attenuated by GPS incl.sion;there were l.wer total.col.form counts and a trend toward l.wer counts for enterobacteria in the control.group. The diets al.ered the FA profil. of the meat;i.e., the GPB diet al.owed for a more significant amount of the n-6 omegas in the meat, whil. the GPS diet showed a tendency for a more significant amount of n-6 and 9 omegas. Both diets (GPS and GPB) increased the amounts of l.ng-chain FAs. The GPS diet decreased saturated FA l.vel.. We concl.de that the dietary treatments GPS and GPB are a promising al.ernative to maintain meat qual.ty standards throughout in real.worl. retail.conditions.
