Complex coordinated functional groups[MA_(x)B_(y)](M=Central coordination element;A,B=P,O,S,Se,F,Cl,Br or I)are composed of different types of anions A,B jointly linked to the same central cation M,which are in high potential to tune the physical properties of materials,e.g.,second-order susceptibility,energy gaps and birefringence.Recently,Compound containing complex coordinated functional groups have attracted great attention in the nonlinear optical(NLO)field and a large number of this type crystals exhibit promising NLO performance.However,the inherent relationship between ionic group structure and optical properties of complex coordinated NLO materials have not been systematically studied.This article systematically summarizes complex coordinated NLO materials in recent five years from the perspective of the internal relationship between crystal structure and optical properties.In addition,we propose the ideal combination and arrangement modes for structural building units,and also reveal the influence of complex coordinated functional groups[MA_(x)B_(y)]toward the NLO response,optical band gap and phase matching ability of complex coordinated NLO materials.

To clarify the anodic dissolution mechanism of Mg,the hydrogen evolution from pure Mg in acidic solutions under galvanostatic conditions were systematically measured.With increasing anodic current density,the cathodic hydrogen evolution rate decreased,and the anodic hydrogen evolution became faster while some surface area on the Mg was becoming dark under anodic polarization.Based on the surface analysis results and the generally accepted basic electrochemical equations,the evolution kinetics of hydrogen from Mg was deduced,and the most possible surface intermediate active species that could facilitate the anodic Mg dissolution and anodic hydrogen evolution were proposed.This paper further develops the model of incomplete film Mg^(+) dissolution,explains many reported experimental phenomena,and clarifies misunderstandings of current mechanism.

During the chemotherapy of tumors,the cytotoxic effect of drugs is vital to kill tumor cells,and the delivery of a chemotherapeutic agent is of great importance for optimal therapeutic effects.The high in vivo clearance rate and low delivery efficiency of conventional chemotherapeutic agents affect the therapeutic effect.In recent years,the responsive drug delivery nanosystem has received increasing concern owing to its excellent biocompatibility,stable delivery performance,and controlled drug release strategies.To lucidly explain the cytocidal and immunotherapeutic effects of such responsive nanosystems in breast cancer,this review discusses the various stimuli and responses of drug-loaded liposomal nanosystems.The light/magnetic response of drug-loaded bionic membranes nanosystems and the heat/magnetic response of drug-loaded iron oxide nanosystems are also elaborated.Their cancer cell-killing efficacy and antitumor immunotherapeutic effects are also scrutinized.

Single-cell RNA sequencing analysis of the retina under acute high intraocular pressure

High intraocular pressure causes retinal ganglion cell injury in primary and secondary glaucoma diseases,yet the molecular landscape characteristics of retinal cells under high intraocular pressure remain unknown.Rat models of acute hypertension ocular pressure were established by injection of cross-linked hyaluronic acid hydrogel(Healaflow■).Single-cell RNA sequencing was then used to describe the cellular composition and molecular profile of the retina following high intraocular pressure.Our results identified a total of 12 cell types,namely retinal pigment epithelial cells,rod-photoreceptor cells,bipolar cells,Müller cells,microglia,cone-photoreceptor cells,retinal ganglion cells,endothelial cells,retinal progenitor cells,oligodendrocytes,pericytes,and fibroblasts.The single-cell RNA sequencing analysis of the retina under acute high intraocular pressure revealed obvious changes in the proportions of various retinal cells,with ganglion cells decreased by 23%.Hematoxylin and eosin staining and TUNEL staining confirmed the damage to retinal ganglion cells under high intraocular pressure.We extracted data from retinal ganglion cells and analyzed the retinal ganglion cell cluster with the most distinct expression.We found upregulation of the B3gat2 gene,which is associated with neuronal migration and adhesion,and downregulation of the Tsc22d gene,which participates in inhibition of inflammation.This study is the first to reveal molecular changes and intercellular interactions in the retina under high intraocular pressure.These data contribute to understanding of the molecular mechanism of retinal injury induced by high intraocular pressure and will benefit the development of novel therapies.

Nonlinear optical(NLO)crystals can be employed to expand the laser frequency and thus are of technical importance in advanced laser science.Noncentrosymmetric rare earth compounds keep attracting broad interest as a significant branch of NLO materials because the highly distorted structural motifs centered by rare earth ions could remarkably benefit the second harmonic generation.In this review,we proceed from structure-properties relationship and reveal the role of rare earth element in the optical properties of NLO materials.We believe that this work can deepen the understanding of rare earth-based NLO materials and provide some enlightenment for exploring novel practical NLO crystals.

The assemblages of unicellular microalgae and bacteria in phytoplankton communities can generally result in biodeterioration of metals in marine environment.In this study,the self-promoted biofouling mechanism underneath red-tide alga Phaeodactylum tricornutum and its symbiotic bacterium Bacillus altitudinis was systematically revealed.The mutualistic interaction of the bacteria and algae quadrupled the corrosion rate in comparison to the individual effect of the bacterium or algal strain alone.Reversely,the corroded metal appeared to be an accelerator that can stimulate the activity of the P.tricornutum and aggravate the biological pollution based on the result of 62.3%up-regulation of the key photosynthesis genes.The corrosion-biofouling-accelerated corrosion-deteriorated biofouling formed a vicious cycle.

Hydrogen evolution is normally associated with the corrosion or dissolution of Mg alloys in aqueous solutions.This work studied the corrosion behavior of sputtered pure Mg,Mg82Zn18(at.%),Mg64Zn36(at.%),and pure Zn in 3.5%Na Cl solution.Mg64Zn36had(ⅰ)an amorphous microstructure with some nano-scale grains,(ⅱ)a corrosion rate substantially lower than that of pure Mg,and(ⅲ)no hydrogen evolution during corrosion or anodic dissolution,because the positive corrosion potential retarded the cathodic hydrogen evolution.This is a new route to prevent hydrogen evolution during Mg corrosion,which has never previously been realized.

As the fundamental infrastructure of the Internet,the optical network carries a great amount of Internet traffic.There would be great financial losses if some faults happen.Therefore,fault location is very important for the operation and maintenance in optical networks.Due to complex relationships among each network element in topology level,each board in network element level,and each component in board level,the con-crete fault location is hard for traditional method.In recent years,machine learning,es-pecially deep learning,has been applied to many complex problems,because machine learning can find potential non-linear mapping from some inputs to the output.In this paper,we introduce supervised machine learning to propose a complete process for fault location.Firstly,we use data preprocessing,data annotation,and data augmenta-tion in order to process original collected data to build a high-quality dataset.Then,two machine learning algorithms(convolutional neural networks and deep neural networks)are applied on the dataset.The evaluation on commercial optical networks shows that this process helps improve the quality of dataset,and two algorithms perform well on fault location.

Influence of meteorological factors on open biomass burning at a background site in Northeast China

Biomass burning(BB)is a very important emission source that significantly adversely impacts regional air quality.BB produces a large number of primary organic aerosol(POA)and black carbon(BC).Besides,BB also provides many precursors for secondary organic aerosol(SOA)generation.In this work,the ratio of levoglucosan(LG)to organic carbon(OC)and the fire hotspots map was used to identify the open biomass burning(OBB)events,which occurred in two representative episodes,October 13 to November 30,2020,and April1 to April 30,2021.The ratio of organic aerosol(OA)to reconstructed PM_(2.5)concentration(PM_(2.5)^(*))increased with the increase of LG/OC.When LG/OC ratio is higher than 0.03,the highest OA/PM_(2.5)^(*)ratio can reach 80%,which means the contribution of OBB to OA is crucial.According to the ratio of LG to K^(+),LG to mannosan(MN)and the regional characteristics of Longfengshan,it can be determined that the crop residuals are the main fuel.The occurrence of OBB coincides with farmers’preferred choices,i.e.,burning biomass in“bright weather”.The“bright weather”refers to the meteorological conditions with high temperature,low humidity,and without rain.Meteorological factors indirectly affect regional biomass combustion pollution by influencing farmers’active choices.
