The escalation of zeta potential by the influence of wall slip for the electrokinetically modulated flow through a microchannel motivates to consider the impact of hydrodynamic slippage upon the zeta or surface *** reported study undergoes an analytical exploration of the pulsatile electroosmosis and shear-actuated flow characteristics of a fluid with a Newtonian model through a microchannel with parallel plates by invoking the reliance of a zeta or surface potential on *** linearized Poisson-Boltzmann and momentum equations are solved analytically to obtain the explicit expression of the electrical potential induced in the electrical double layer(EdL),the flow velocity field,and the volumetric flow rate for an extensive span of *** velocity field proximal to the microchannel wall is observed to enhance by an apparent zeta potential,and is further escalated for a thinner EdL and an oscillating electric field with a higher ***,near the core region of the microchannel,the flow velocity becomes invariant with the EdL *** result shows that the lower wall velocity contributes to the flow velocity along with the electroosmotic body force and the impact of the velocity of the wall underneath diminishes proximal to the upper ***,the volumetric flow rate increases when the thickness of the EdL decreases,owing to the influence of the wall ***,for thinner EdLs and medium and higher oscillating Reynolds numbers,the volumetric flow rate varies non-monotonously,correlative to the slip-free and slip cases.

This paper evaluates the applicability of the sediment transport methods developed by Engelund and Hansen, Ackers and White, Yang et al., and van Rijn, together with the Wuhan methods developed in China, to the Yellow River, which has highly concentrated and fine-grained sediment. The sediment data includes over 1000 observations from the Yellow River, 32 sets of data from a canal, and 266 sets of data from laboratory flumes. The best predictions were obtained by the Yang 1996 method, the Wuhan method, and the modified Wuhan method by Wu and Long, while reasonably good predictions were also provided by the van Rijn 2004 method. The Engelund and Hansen, the Ackers and White, and the van Rijn 1984 methods in their original forms are not applicable to the Yellow River. The predicted results for total load concentrations were as good as for bed-material concentrations, even though the total load includes a large portion of wash load.

The pulsatile flow of blood in a tapered narrow artery with overlapping time-dependent stenosis is mathematically analyzed, modeling blood as Caxreau fluid. Perturbation method is employed for solving the resulting nonlinear system of equations along with the appropriate boundary conditions. The analytic solutions to the pressure gradient, velocity distribution, flow rate, wall shear stress and longitudinal impedance to flow axe obtained in the asymptotic form. The variation of the aforesaid flow quantities with respect to various physical parameters such as maximum depth of the stenosis, angle of tapering of the artery, power law index, Reynolds number, pulsatile amplitude of the flow and Weissenberg number is investigated. It is found that the wall shear stress and longitudinal impedance to flow increase with the increase of the angle of tapering of the artery, the maximum depth of the stenosis and pulsatile Reynolds number and these decrease with the increase of the amplitude of the flow, power law index and Weis- senberg number. The mean velocity of blood decreases significantly with the increase of the artery radius, maximum depth of the stenosis, angle of tapering of the artery.

AIM：To evaluate the protective activity of allylpyrocatechol （APC）, the major antioxidant constituent of Piper betel, against the indomethacin-induced stomach ulceration in the rat model and correlates with its antioxidative and mucin protecting properties.METHOds： Male sprague-dawley rats were divided into five groups. Normal control rats （group Ⅰ ） were given the vehicle oral dose of gum acacia in distilled water （1 mL per rat）; ulcerated control and treated rats （groups Ⅱ-V） were given a single dose of indomethacin （30 mg/kg body wt.）; group Ⅱ rats were sacrificed 4 h after indomethacin administration; groups Ⅲ-Ⅴ rats were given the vehicle （1 mL per rat） or APC （2 mg/kg body wt.） or misoprostol （1.43 μg/kg body wt.） once daily by oral intubation for 7 d starting from 4 h after the indomethacin administration. After 7 d, the stomach tissues were excised for histological examination and biochemical analysis. REsULTs： Treatment with APC （2 mg/kg body wt per day） and misoprostol （1.43 μg/kg body wt per day） for 7 d could effectively heal the stomach ulceration as revealed from the ulcer index and histopathological studies. Compared to the zero day ulcerated group, treatment with APC and misoprostol reduced the ulcer index by 93.4% and 85.4% respectively （P 〈 0.05）. Both APC and misoprostol accelerated ulcer healing observed in natural recovery （P 〈 0.05）, their respective healing capacities not being significantly different. The healing capacities of APC and misoprostol could be attributed to their antioxidant activity as well as the ability to enhance the rnucin content of the gastric tissues. Compared to the ulcerated untreated rats, those treated with APC and rnisoprostol showed near normal MdA levels, while the protein levels were 86% and 78% of the normal value respectively （P 〈 0.05）. Likewise, both APC and rnisoprostol increased the sOd, catalase, and rnucin levels significantly （P 〈 0.05）, the effect of APC being better. CONCLUsION： APC can protect ind

In this study, He＇s Energy Balance Method （EBM） was applied to solve strong nonlinear duffing oscillators with cubic-quintic nonlinear restoring force. The complete EBM solution procedure of the cubic-quintic duffing oscillator equation is presented. For illustration of effectiveness and convenience of the EBM, different cases of cubic-quintic duffing oscillator with different parameters of α,β and y were compared with the exact solution. We found that the solutions were valid for small as well as large amplitudes of oscillation. The results show that the EBM is very convenient and precise, so it can be widely appli- cable in engineering and other sciences.

Unsteady turbulent magnetohydrodynamic nanofluid hydrothermal treatment is studied. The zero- equation turbulence model is used to simulate turbulent flow. The modeling results obtained by applying the hybrid differential transformation method-finite difference method to solve this problem confirm its viability. An analytical procedure is used for finding the effects of the problem parameters. Results indicate that the average Nusselt number over the lower plate depends linearly on volume fraction of nanofluid, Hall parameter, turbulent Eckert number, and Reynolds number whereas it is inversely proportional on the Hartmann number and the turbulent parameter.
