Vineyards show some of the largest erosion rates reported in agricultural areas in *** rates vary considerably under the same land use,since erosion processes are highly affected by climate,soil,topography and by the adopted soil management *** also shows differences in the effect of same conservation practices on reducing soil erosion from conventional,bare soil based,*** Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation(RUSLE)is commonly adopted to estimate rates of water erosion on cropland under different forms of land use and management,but it requires proper value of soil cover and management(C)factors in order to obtain a reliable evaluation of local soil erosion *** this study the ORUSCAL(Orchard RUSle CALibration)is used to identify the best calibration strategy against long-term experimental ***,ORUSCAL is used in order to apply the RUSLE technology from farm based information across different European wine-growing *** results suggest that the best strategy for calibration should incorporate the soil moisture sub-factor(Sm)to provide better soil loss *** C factor,whose average values ranged from 0.012 to *** a large spatial variability due to coupling with local climate and specific local *** comparison across the five wine-growing regions indicates that for the soil protection management,permanent cover crop is the best measure for accomplishing sustainable erosion rates across the studied *** and temporary cover crops,that are used in areas of limited water resources to prevent competition with vines,failed to achieve sustainable erosion rates,that still need to be *** raises the need for a careful use of C values developed under different environmental conditions.

As silicon photonics transitions from research to commercial deployment,packaging solutions that efficiently couple light into highly compact and functional sub-micrometer silicon waveguides are imperative but remain *** 220 nm silicon-on-insulator(SOI)platform,poised to enable large-scale integration,is the most widely adopted by foundries,resulting in established fabrication processes and extensive photonic component *** development of a highly efficient,scalable,and broadband coupling scheme for this platform is therefore of paramount *** two-photon polymerization(TPP)and a deterministic free-form micro-optics design methodology based on the Fermat’s principle,this work demonstrates an ultraefficient and broadband 3-d coupler interface between standard SMF-28 single-mode fibers and silicon waveguides on the 220 nm SOI *** coupler achieves a low coupling loss of 0.8 dB for the fundamental TE mode,along with 1 dB bandwidth exceeding 180 *** broadband operation enables diverse bandwidthdriven applications ranging from communications to ***,the 3-d free-form coupler also enables large tolerance to fiber misalignments and manufacturing variability,thereby relaxing packaging requirements toward cost reduction capitalizing on standard electronic packaging process flows.

Electrochemical Study and Electrodeposition of Copper（I） in Ionic Liquid-reline

The authors made the electrochemical studies on the electrode processes during copper electrodeposition with ionic liquids-reline as an electrolytic medium. Reline is a commercial name for a eutectic mixture of choline chloride and urea（1：2, molar ratio）. This new proposed method of copper deposition is an ecological one because the ionic liquids are recyclable, non-volatile and non-toxic. Cyclic voltammetry investigations were conducted at 343 and 353 K in choline chloride-urea（Reline） deep eutectic solvent with single salt CuCl（generally in 0.05--0.38 mol/L concentration range）. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy investigations were conducted in choline chloride- urea ionic liquid with CuCI（0.05 mol/L）. We investigated both cathodic and anodic processes of Cu＋ ions at different sweep rates in this new electrolytic system based on choline chloride. We have proposed by this an alternative to the classical copper electrodeposition. Coefficient of diffusion, do, for the system Reline-CuCl is presented and the value of d0 is 1.22× 10^-8 cm2/s.

Wolf phase tomography(WPT) of transparent structures using partially coherent illumination

In 1969,Emil Wolf proposed diffraction tomography using coherent holographic imaging to extract 3d information from transparent,inhomogeneous *** the same era,the Wolf equations were first used to describe the propagation correlations associated with partially coherent *** these two concepts,we present Wolf phase tomography(WPT),which is a method for performing diffraction tomography using partially coherent *** reconstruction works directly in the space-time domain,without the need for Fourier transformation,and decouples the refractive index(RI)distribution from the thickness of the *** demonstrate the WPT principle using the data acquired by a quantitative-phase-imaging method that upgrades an existing phase-contrast microscope by introducing controlled phase shifts between the incident and scattered *** illumination field in WPT is partially spatially coherent(emerging from a ring-shaped pupil function)and of low temporal coherence(white light),and as such,it is well suited for the Wolf *** three intensity measurements corresponding to different phase-contrast frames,the 3d RI distribution is obtained immediately by computing the Laplacian and second time derivative of the measured complex correlation *** validate WPT with measurements of standard samples(microbeads),spermatozoa,and live neural *** high throughput and simplicity of this method enables the study of 3d,dynamic events in living cells across the entire multiwell plate,with an RI sensitivity on the order of 10^(−5).

Recovery of Metals from Anodic dissolution Slime of Waste from Electric and Electronic Equipment（WEEE） by Extraction in Ionic Liquids

The recovery of metals from a multi-component alloy obtained by crushing, melting and anodic dissolution of waste from electric and electronic equipment（WEEE） was investigated. The anodic dissolution of the alloy was carried out in an electrolysis cell with one copper cathode and a central cast anode, immersed in the electrolyte formed by choline chloride-ethylene glycol-iodine. The temperature of the electrolyte during the process was 343 K. depending on the electrolysis parameters（current density and cell voltage）, cathodic deposits of Sn, Pb and Zn of 〉99% purity were obtained. Cyclic voltammetry was used in order to determine the deposition potentials of the studied metals. The obtained metallic deposits were subject of determination of XRd, SEM/EdX and AFM in order to evidence the deposits structure and morphology. The experiments performed demonstrated the possibility of separating/selective recovery of metals from the multi-component alloy resulted from the waste from electrical and electronic equipment by anodic dissolution in ionic liquids.

Timing of paracentesis and outcomes in hospitalized patients with decompensated cirrhosis

BACKGROUNd Ascites is one of the most common complications of cirrhosis,placing a significant burden on the healthcare *** regarding the optimal time of paracentesis and outcomes among patients with cirrhosis and ascites are *** To assess the outcomes of patients who underwent paracentesis within 12 h after admission compared to patients who underwent paracentesis later than 12 *** The study included 185 patients with cirrhosis and ascites who underwent *** early paracentesis group was defined as paracentesis performeddmission(65 patients)and the delayed paracentesis group was defined as paracentesis performed>12 h after admission(120 patients).Newonset complications of cirrhosis,length of hospital stay,weekday or weekend admission,in-hospital mortality rate,and 90-d readmission rates were assessed and compared between the *** Significantly more patients in the delayed paracentesis group than in the early paracentesis group developed hepatic encephalopathy(45%vs 21.5%,Pdrome(21.6%vs 9.2%,P=0.03)and infections(25%vs 10.7%,P=0.02)during *** were no statistically significant differences in the occurrence of spontaneous bacterial peritonitis and upper gastrointestinal bleeding between the two *** of stay was shorter in the early paracentesis group than in the delayed paracentesis group(6.7 d vs 12.2 d)and inhospital mortality was lower among patients in the early paracentesis *** in the delayed paracentesis group had a higher risk of developing complications during *** Early paracentesis(within 12 h after admission)could be a new inpatient quality metric among patients hospitalized with cirrhosis and ascites as it is associated with fewer complications of cirrhosis,lower in-hospital mortality and shorter length of stay.
