Improved Segmented Belief Propagation List decoding for Polar Codes with Bit-Flipping

Belief propagation list(BPL) decoding for polar codes has attracted more attention due to its inherent parallel nature. However, a large gap still exists with CRC-aided SCL(CA-SCL) *** this work, an improved segmented belief propagation list decoding based on bit flipping(SBPL-BF) is proposed. On the one hand, the proposed algorithm makes use of the cooperative characteristic in BPL decoding such that the codeword is decoded in different BP decoders. Based on this characteristic, the unreliable bits for flipping could be split into multiple subblocks and could be flipped in different decoders simultaneously. On the other hand, a more flexible and effective processing strategy for the priori information of the unfrozen bits that do not need to be flipped is designed to improve the decoding convergence. In addition, this is the first proposal in BPL decoding which jointly optimizes the bit flipping of the information bits and the code bits. In particular, for bit flipping of the code bits, a H-matrix aided bit-flipping algorithm is designed to enhance the accuracy in identifying erroneous code bits. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm significantly improves the errorcorrection performance of BPL decoding for medium and long codes. It is more than 0.25 d B better than the state-of-the-art BPL decoding at a block error rate(BLER) of 10^(-5), and outperforms CA-SCL decoding in the low signal-to-noise(SNR) region for(1024, 0.5)polar codes.

Vertical differential structural deformation(VdSd),one of the most significant structural characteristics of strike-slip fault zones(SSFZs)in the Shunbei area,is crucial for understanding deformation in the SSFZ and its hydrocarbon accumulation *** on drilling data and high-precision 3-d seismic data,we analyzed the geometric and kinematic characteristics of the SSFZs in the Shunbei *** with the stratification of the rock mechanism,the structural deformations of these SSFZs in different formations were differentiated and divided into four deformation *** to comprehensive structural interpretations and comparisons,three integrated 3-d structural models could describe the VdSd of these *** time-space coupling of the material basis(rock mechanism stratification),changing dynamic conditions(e.g.,changing stress-strain states),and special deformation mechanism of the en echelon normal fault array uniformly controlled the formation of the VdSd in the SSFZs of the Shunbei *** VdSd of the SSFZs in this area controlled the entire hydrocarbon accumulation ***-stage structural superimposing deformation influenced the hydrocarbon migration,accumulation,distribution,preservation,and secondary adjustments.

Scan system for arbitrary-shaped samples at the synchrotron radiation facility

X-ray fluorescence(XRF) scan methodology is important for elemental mapping of samples at a synchrotron radiation facility. To save the experiment time and improve the experiment efficiency, one should develop an efficient XRF scan method. In this paper, a new scan mode is presented. It can map arbitrary-shaped areas withou stopping the motors. The control and data acquisition system integrates motor controlling, detector triggering, and data acquisition and storage. The system realizes the arbitrary-shaped 2d-mapping and fluorescence data acquisition synchronously. SR-XRF mapping has been performed with a standard gold mask to verify the validity of this method a beamline BL15U1 of the Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility. The results show that this method reduces the tota scan time and improves the experiment efficiency.

Proteomic identification of ruminal epithelial protein expression profiles in response to starter feed supplementation in pre-weaned lambs

The pre sent study aimed to comparatively characterize the ruminal epithelial protein expression profiles in lambs fed ewe milk or milk plus starter diet using proteome *** new-born lambs were randomly divided into a group receiving ewe milk(M,n=10)and a group receiving milk plus starter diet(M+S,n=10).From 10 d old,M group lambs remained with the ewe and suckled ewe milk without receiving the starter *** lambs in the M+S group were separated from the ewe and received starter *** lambs were slaughtered at 56 d *** rumen epithelia samples(4 per group)were collected to characterize their protein expression profiles using proteomic *** analysis showed that 31 upregulated proteins and 40 downregulated proteins were identified in the rumen epithelium of lambs in response to starter diet *** results showed that starter feeding regulates a variety of biological processes in the epithelium,especially blood vessel development and extracellular matrix protein ***,the expression of proteins associated with synthesis and degradation of ketone bodies,butanoate metabolism,and citrate cycle signaling transduction pathway were upregulated in the group with starter diet supplementation,including 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A synthase(HMGCS2,fold change[FC]=1.93),3-hydroxybutyrate dehydrogenase 1(BdH1,FC=1.91),and isocitrate dehydrogenase 1(IdH1,FC=8.12).The metabolic processes associated with ammonia detoxification and antioxidant stress were also affected by starter diet supplementation,with proteins,microsomal glutathione S-transferase 3(MGST3,FC=2.37)and IdH1,linked to the biosynthesis of glutamate and glutathione metabolism pathway being upregulated in the group with starter diet *** addition,starter feeding decreased the expression of Rasrelated protein rap-1 A(RAP1 A,FC=0.48)enriched in Rap1 signaling pathway,Ras signaling pathway,cyclic adenosine monophosphate(cAMP)signaling pa
