A novel gas-phase electrocatalytic cell containing a low-temperature proton exchange membrane(PEM)was developed to electrochemically convert CO_2into organic *** different Cu-based cathode catalysts(Cu and Cu–C)were prepared by physical vapor deposition method(sputtering)and subsequently employed for the gas-phase electroreduction of CO_2at different temperatures(70–90°C).The prepared electrodes Cu and Cu–C were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRd),X-ray photoemission spectroscopy(XPS)and scanning electron microscopy(SEM).As revealed,Cu is partially oxidized on the surface of the samples and the Cu and Cu–C cathodic catalysts were comprised of a porous,continuous,and homogeneous film with nanocrystalline Cu with a grain size of 16 and 8 nm,*** influence of the applied current and temperature on the electro-catalytic activity and selectivity of these materials was *** the two investigated electrodes,the pure Cu catalyst film showed the highest CO_2specific electrocatalytic reduction rates and higher selectivity to methanol formation compared to the Cu–C electrode,which was attributed to the higher particle size of the former and lower Cu O/Cu *** obtained results show potential interest for the possible use of electrical renewable energy for the transformation of CO_2into valuable products using low metal loading Cu based electrodes(0.5 mg Cu cm^(-2))prepared by sputtering.

The role played by serendipity in the origin of modern psychopharmacology has proven to be controversial in scientific *** its original meaning(Walpole),serendipity refers to discoveries made through a combination of accidents and *** have implemented an operational definition of serendipity based on finding something unexpected or unintended,regardless of the systematic process that led to the accidental observation,and we have established four different patterns of serendipitous *** this paper,we have analyzed the role of serendipity in the discovery and development of classical antidepressant drugs,tricyclic antidepressants and monoamine oxidase inhibitors as well as heterocyclic,“atypical”or“second generation”*** discovery of the antidepressant properties of imipramine and iproniazid,the prototypes of tricyclic antidepressants and monoamine oxidase inhibitors,respectively,fits the mixed type II pattern;initial serendipitous discoveries(imipramine was an antipsychotic and iproniazid was an antituberculosis agent)led secondarily to non-serendipitous *** the other components of these two families of drugs were developed specifically as antidepressants,modifying the chemical structure of the series leaders,thereby allowing all of them to be included in the type IV pattern,characterized by the complete absence of *** the heterocyclic drugs,mianserin(originally developed as an antihistamine)also falls into the type II pattern.

The treatment of coking residual ammonia water has been a big difficult problem at home and abroad, and there is no breakthrough research achievement in the past. The invention patent "The method of treating all coking wastewater or treating coking residual ammonia water by flue gas" has been successfully used in Huaian Steel Works for high concentration and organic industry wastewater treatment. Not only can it realize the wastewater zero discharge, but also the wastewater treatment has an effect of de-sulfur and de-nitrogen for flue gas. So that the flue gas exhaust can meet the requirement of emission standard. The mass transfer and heat transfer, fly ash absorption and coagulation, acid and alkali neutralization reaction, catalysis oxidation and reduction reaction in flue gas would be the major factors.

The aim of this study was to examine and quantify the growth of extension twins and the associated texture change in an extruded AM30 magnesium alloy during compression along the extrusion direction. Three stages of twin growth with increasing strain were observed due to twin-dislocation interactions, together with increasing texture volume fraction of {1210}〈0001〉 and {01- 10}〈0001〉 components. Stage I was characterized by a relatively slow and gradually accelerating growth. A steady-state twin growth was reached in stage II, where the twin width increased linearly with increasing strain. Stage III twin growth became decelerated, exhibiting a plateau-like character.

Twinning and de-twinning are the salient deformation mechanisms in hexagonal close-packed(hcp)metals. The aim of this study was to examine and quantify the de-twinning process involving a reversible motion of twin boundaries in an extruded AM30 magnesium alloy after re-compression along the normal direction(Nd) of pre-compressed samples along the extrusion direction(Ed). {1012} extension twins were first introduced at a compressive strain of 3.7% along the Ed. The subsequent compressive deformation along the Nd induced a gradual shrinkage of twins with increasing cumulative true strain,and the complete de-twinning occurred at a strain of ~7.7%. The twin width decreased linearly with increasing true strain. Texture measurements verified the rotation of c-axes of hcp unit cells towards the anti-compression direction due to {1012} extension twinning after compression along the Ed, and a gradual return of c-axes to the initial orientation due to twin shrinking or de-twinning during the following compression along the Nd. The {1012} twinning corresponded to the formation of new texture components C{1210} and d{0110} and a decrease in the initial texture components A{0001} and B{0001}, while the twin shrinking or de-twinning was characterized by a gradual vanishing of components C{1210} and d{0110} and an increase in the components A{0001} and B{0001}.

The noise of aerodynamics nature from modern transonic fan is examined from its sources with the perspective of noise reduction through aero-acoustics design using advanced Computational Fluid dynamics (CFd) tools. In particular the problems associated with the forward propagating noise in the front is addressed. It is identified that the shock wave spillage from the leading edge near the fan tip is the main source of the tone noise. Two different approaches have been studied to reduce the forward arc tone noise and two state-of-art transonic fans are designed using the strategies developed. The following rig tests show that while the fans exhibit other noise problems, the primary goals of noise reduction have been achieved through both fans and the novel noise reduction concept vindicated.
