Background: There is limited knowledge about obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCd) in people with intellectual disabilities (Ids). This paper describes the manifestation of compulsive behaviors associated with OCd at the behavioral level in people with Id in institutionalized settings. The aim was to gain nuanced insight into appropriate understanding and classification in this specific context, and derive implications for research and practice. Methods: Individual cases of people with Id (n = 7) were studied to assess compulsive symptoms through two days of on-site observation of the person with Id within the institution, guided group discussions (n = 28), and semi-structured interviews with key informants and caregivers of the person with Id (n = 20). Caregiver ratings of the compulsive behavior checklist were compiled. data were analyzed using qualitative content analysis. Results: All forms of OCd were present. Characteristics of compulsive behaviors in people with Id at the behavioral level included less complex and more obvious compulsive acts, immediate responses, signs of tension, motor restlessness, facial expression changes, repetition, need for predictability, time-consuming behaviors, and aggressive reactions when these acts were interrupted. Some of the compulsive behaviors corresponded to the ICd-11 OCd code 6B20, and others to compulsions as a psychological symptom (MB23.4). Conclusions: OCd may manifest atypically at the behavioral level in people with Id, posing significant challenges for accurate classification due to symptom ambiguity. Follow-up differential diagnostic studies are needed to more accurately identify and differentiate OCd symptoms in people with Id. Further, disorder-specific guidelines for recognizing OCd in people with Id are needed for institutionalized settings without psychiatric-psychotherapeutic expertise.

In this paper, from the spacetime algebra associated with the Minkowski space ℝ3,1by means of a change of signature, we describe a quaternionic representation of the split-tetraquaternion algebra which incorporates the Pauli algebra, the split-biquaternion algebra and the split-quaternion algebra, we relate these algebras to Clifford algebras and we show the emergence of the stabilized Poincaré-Heisenberg algebra from the split-tetraquaternion algebra. We list without going into details some of their applications in Physics and in Born geometry.

In late March 2020,SARS-CoV-2 arrived in Manaus,Brazil,and rapidly developed into a large-scale epidemic that collapsed the local health system and resulted in extreme death *** key studies reported that∼76%of residents of Manaus were infected(attack rate AR≃76%)by October 2020,suggesting protective herd immunity had been *** this,an unexpected second wave of COVId-19 struck again in November and proved to be larger than the first,creating a catastrophe for the unprepared *** has been suggested that this could be possible if the second wave was driven by ***,it is widely reported that reinfections were at a low rate(before the emergence of Omicron),and reinfections tend to be ***,we use novel methods to model the epidemic from mortality data without considering reinfection-caused deaths and evaluate the impact of interventions to explain why the second wave *** method fits a“flexible”reproductive numberR_(0)(t)that changes over the epidemic,and it is demonstrated that the method can successfully reconstruct R_(0)(t)from simulated *** Manaus,the method finds AR≃34%by October 2020 for the first wave,which is far less than required for herd immunity yet in-line with seroprevalence *** work is complemented by a two-strain *** genomic data,the model estimates transmissibility of the new P.1 virus lineage as 1.9 times higher than that of the ***,an age class model variant that considers the high mortality rates of older adults show very similar *** models thus provide a reasonable explanation for the two-wave dynamics in Manaus without the need to rely on large reinfection rates,which until now have only been found in negligible to moderate numbers in recent surveillance efforts.

We see significant progress in the preparation of nanoreactors that host incompatible catalysts for cascade reactions,yet their preparation typically requires specialized,multistep synthetic ***,we utilize core-satellite microparticles as a versatile strategy for the site isolation of catalysts in core and *** core-satellite clusters are prepared by mixing specific amounts of negatively charged core microparticles(e.g.,acid catalyst)with positively charged satellites(e.g.,base catalyst).Core and satellite are made from incompatible polymers allowing solvent-annealing of clusters into different morphologies(raspberry,patchy,and core-shell)while maintaining site isolation of the *** core-satellite microparticles show very good catalytic activity in a model one-pot acid/base cascade reaction with subtle differences regarding particle *** microparticles thereby demonstrated the highest reaction rate and yield,likely due to an alleviated diffusion pathway for the ***,we show that this colloidal engineering strategy can be extended to multifunctional microparticles suitable to perform multistep cascade reactions in one pot.

In this review,we revisit the pivotal role of fibroblast growth factor receptor 3(FGFR3)in bladder cancer(BLCA),underscoring its prevalence in both nonmuscle-invasive and muscle-invasive forms of the ***3 mutations in up to half of BLCAs play a well-established role in tumorigenesis,shaping distinct tumor initiation patterns and impacting the tumor microenvironment(TME).Emphasizing the importance of considering epithelial-mesenchymal transition profile and TME status,we revisit their relevance in predicting responses to immune checkpoint inhibitors in FGFR3-mutated *** writing highlights the initially promising yet transient efficacy of the FGFR inhibitor Erdafitinib on FGFR3-mutated BLCA,stressing the pressing need to unravel resistance mechanisms and identify co-targets for future combinatorial studies.A thorough analysis of recent preclinical and clinical evidence reveals resistance mechanisms,including secondarymutations,epigenetic alterations in pathway effectors,phenotypic heterogeneity,and population-specific variations within FGFR3 mutational ***,we discuss the potential of combinatorial treatments and concepts like synthetic lethality for discovering more effective targeted therapies against FGFR3-mutated BLCA.
