The efect of dzyaloshinskii–Moriya(d-M) interaction on the bistable nano-scale soliton switching ofers the possiblity of developing a new innovative approach for data storage technology. The dynamics of Heisenberg ferromagnetic spin system is expressed in terms of generalized inhomogeneous higher order nonlinear Schro¨dinger(NLS) equation. The bistable soliton switching in the ferromagnetic medium is established by solving the associated coupled evolution equations for amplitude and velocity of the soliton using the fourth order Runge–Kutta method numerically.

Among many types of proteinaceous filaments, microtubules （MTs） constitute the most rigid components of the cellular cytoskeleton. Microtubule dynamics is essential for many vital cellular processes such as intracellular transport, metabolism, and cell division. We investigate the nonlinear dynamics of inhomogeneous microtubulin systems and the MT dynamics is found to be governed by a perturbed sine-Gordon equation. In the presence of various competing nonlinear inhomogeneities, it is shown that this nonlinear model can lead to the existence of kink and antikink solitons moving along MTs. We demonstrate kink-antikink pair collision in the framework of Hirota＇s bilinearization method. We conjecture that the collisions of the quanta of energy propagating in the form of kinks and antikinks may offer a new view of the mechanism of the retrograde and anterograde transport direction regulation of motor proteins in microtubulin systems.

We show by an extensive method of quasi-discrete multiple-scale approximation that nonlinear multi-dimensional lattice waves subjected to intersite and external on-site potentials are found to be governed by （N＋ 1 ）-dimensional nonlinear Schr6dinger （NLS） equation. In particular, the resonant mode interaction of （2＋l）-dimensional NLS equation has been identified and the theory allows the inclusion of transverse effect. We apply the exponential function method to the （2＋ I ）- dimensional NLS equation and obtain the class of soliton solutions with a purely algebraic computational method. Notably, we discuss in detail the effects of the external on-site potentials on the explicit form of the soliton solution generated recursively. Under the action of the external on-site potentials, the model presents a rich variety of oscillating multidromion patterns propagating in the system.

We report the modulational instability （MI） analysis for the modulation equations governing the propagation of coherent polarized light through a nematic liquid crystal （NLC） slab, in the limit of low light intensity and local material response. The linear stability analysis of the nonlinear plane wave solutions is performed by considering both the wave vectors （k,l） of the basic states and wave vectors （K,L） of the perturbations as free parameters. We compute the MI gain, and the MI gain peak is reduced and the stable bandwidth is widened with the increase of the strength of the applied electric field. Further, we invoke the extended homogeneous balance method and Exp-function method aided with symbolic computation and obtain a series of periodic solitonic humps of nematicon profiles admitting the propagation of laser light in the NLC medium.

Magnetization dynamics in uniformly magnetized ferromagnetic media is studied by using Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert equation. The nonlinear evolution equation is integrable with site-dependent and biquadratic exchange interaction by means of Landau-Lifshitz （LL） equation which is well understood. In the present work, we construct the exact solitary solutions of the nonlinear evolution equation, particularly, we employ the modified extended tangent hyperbolic function method. We show the shape changing property of solitons for the given integrable system in the presence of damping as well as inhomogeneities.

In this paper, a surface potential based threshold voltage model of fully-depleted（Fd） recessed-source/drain（Re-S/d）silicon-on-insulator（SOI） metal-oxide semiconductor field-effect transistor（MOSFET） is presented while considering the effects of high-k gate-dielectric material induced fringing-field. The two-dimensional（2d） Poisson＇s equation is solved in a channel region in order to obtain the surface potential under the assumption of the parabolic potential profile in the transverse direction of the channel with appropriate boundary conditions. The accuracy of the model is verified by comparing the model＇s results with the 2d simulation results from ATLAS over a wide range of channel lengths and other parameters,including the dielectric constant of gate-dielectric material.

The ability of triadimefon(TdM),a triazolic fungicide,to alter the biochemical constituents and thereby minimizing the days required for sprouting in white yam(dioscorea rotundata Poir.) tubers during storage under(30±2) °C in the dark,was studied.TdM at 20 mg/L was given to tubers by dipping the tubers in treatment solution containing 20 mg/L TdM on 10,25 and 40 d after storage(dAS).Starch,sugars,protein,amino acid contents as well as protease and α-amylase activities were estimated on 15,30 and 45 dAS from two physiological regions viz.,apical and basal regions of the tubers.In normal conditions(control) sprouting occurred on 70 to 80 dAS.The starch content decreased,while protein,amino acid,sugar contents and protease and α-amylase activities were increased due to TdM treatment and led to early sprouting.

Objective:To isolate antibacterial potential of sponge endosymbiotic bacteria from marine sponges at Lakshadweep archipelago.Also to identify the potent bacteria by 16s rdNA sequencing and determine the antibacterial activity against clinical pathogens by MIC.Methods: Sponge samples was collected from sub-tidal habitats at Kavaratti Island and identified.The endosymbiotic bacteria were isolated and selected potential bacteria which show antibacterial activity in preliminary screening against clinical pathogens Staphylococcus aureus(S.aureus), Escherichia coli(E.coli),Salmonella typhi(S.typhi),Klebsiella pneumoniea(K.pneumoniea) and Streptococcus sp.by disc diffusion assay.The crude extracts of potential bacteria LB3 was tested against clinical pathogens by MIC.The LB3 strain was identified by 16s rdNA sequencing, 1111 bp was submitted in NCBI(HQ589912) and constructed phylogenetic tree.Results:Sponge sample was identified as dysidea granulosa(d.granulosa) and potential bacteria LB3 identified as Enterobacter sp TTAG.Preliminary screening of sponge isolates against clinical pathogens,LB3 strain was selected as potential producer of secondary metabolites and crude extract was implies on MIC of LB3 have confirmed with lowest concentration of 5.0 mg/mL in broth medium influence of crude extract on growth inhibitory activity after 5 h of incubation period and completed the inhibitory activity at 15 h.Conclusions:The present study concluded that phylogenetic analysis of endosymbiotic bacteria Enterobacter sp from sponge d.granulosa of Lakshadweep islands showed significant antibacterial activity against clinical bacterial pathogens.

This work presents a comparative study of the influence of various parameters on the analog and RF properties of silicon-nanotube MOSFETs and nanowire-based gate-all-around（GAA） MOSFETs.The important analog and RF performance parameters of SiNT FETs and GAA MOSFETs,namely drain current（/d）,transconductance to drain current ratio（g_m/I_d）,I_（on）/I_（off）,the cut-off frequency（f_T） and the maximum frequency of oscillation（/max） are evaluated with the help of Y- and H-parameters which are obtained from a 3-d device simulator,ATLAS^（TM）.It is found that the silicon-nanotube MOSFETs have far more superior analog and RF characteristics（g_m/I_d,f_T and /max） compared to the nanowire-based gate-all-around GAA MOSFETs.The silicon-nanotube MOSFET shows an improvement of ~2.5 and 3 times in the case of f_T and /max values respectively compared with the nanowire-based gate-all-around（GAA） MOSFET.
