L x-ray.intensity.ratios Le/Lγ, Lα/L7 and Lβ/Lγ for ^92U and ^90Th are measured by.using 59.5keV incident photon energy.at 110° and 125° scattering angles. The samples are located in the external magnetic field of intensities ±0.15T, ±0.30T, ±0.45T, ±0.60T and ±0.75T. The experimental results obtained for B = 0 are compared with the theoretical values calculated using Scofield＇s tables based on the Hartree Slater theory. The contribution to the alignment of the external magnetic field is discussed. It is observed that the L x-ray.intensity.ratios decrease with the increasing magnetic field intensity.

Background: Phy.ical inactivity.is a major public health problem worldwide that results in phy.ical and mental health problems. One major issue for phy.ical inactivity.is weight stigma (WS), especially.perceived WS, which could lead to a tendency.to avoid phy.ical activity.(PA). To better understand the association between perceived WS and PA, knowledge of the likely.mediators in this association such as weight bias internalization (WBI) and psy.hological distress were investigated in the present study. Methods: Using a two-wave longitudinal study.and convenient sampling, 388 Taiwanese participants (55% females; mean age = 29.7 y.ars [Sd ± 6.3]) completed two survey. six months apart. Body.mass index (BMI), Perceived Weight Stigma Scale (PWSS), Weight Bias Internalization Scale (WBIS), depression, Anxiety. Stress Scale (dASS-21), and Tendency.to Avoid Phy.ical Activity.and Sport Scale (TAPAS) were assessed. Results: A mediation model controlling for age, gender, and BMI with 5000 bootstrapping resamples was performed. Perceived WS exerted significant direct effects on WBI (β = 0.25; p y.hological distress (β = 0.15; p = 0.003), and tendency.to avoid PA (β =0.10;p = 0.027); WBI exerted a significant direct effect on tendency.to avoid PA (β = 0.47; p dardized indirect effects of WBI and psy.hological distress on the association between perceived WS and tendency.to avoid PA were 0.12 and 0.01, respectively. Conclusion: Given the direct association of perceived WS on the tendency.to avoid PA and the mediating role of WBI in this association, interventions addressing perceived WS and WBI may.contribute to promoting PA. Therefore, health interventionists (both when planning and executing PA programs) need to consider weight stigmawhen encouraging phy.ical activity. © 2024 The Authors.

Background: Adolescent anxiety.has a significant impact on phy.ical and mental health, and overparenting is recognized as one of the major factors affecting adolescent anxiety. The objective of this study.was to investigate the relationship between overparenting and adolescent anxiety. while also examining the mediating role of cognitive avoidance. Methods: data were collected through a cross-sectional survey.with 1931 valid responses using the Overparenting Scale, the Cognitive Avoidance Scale, and the Anxiety.Self-Rating Scale. A structural equation modelling approach was used to test the mediating role of cognitive avoidance between overparenting and adolescent anxiety.and to reveal the underly.ng mechanisms. The significance of the mediating effect was assessed based on maximum likelihood estimation. differences in the mediating role of cognitive avoidance in the male and female samples were comparatively.analy.ed in the mediation effect analy.is. Results: The study.s findings reveal a significant positive correlation between overparenting and adolescent anxiety.(p d cognitive avoidance (p d between cognitive avoidance and adolescent anxiety.(p dance mediated the relationship between overparenting and adolescent anxiety. Overparenting can not only.directly.predict adolescent anxiety.but also indirectly.predict it through the mediating role of cognitive avoidance. Conclusion: This study.validates the direct effect of overparenting on adolescent anxiety.and reveals the mechanism of cognitive avoidance as a mediator. © 2024 The Authors.

We study.the dy.amic of scalar bosons in the presence of Aharonov-Bohm magnetic field. First, we give the differential equation that governs this dy.amic. Secondly. we use variational techniques to show that the following Schrödinger-Newton equation: , where A is an Aharonov-Bohm magnetic potential, has a unique ground-state solution.

Ferroelectric HfO2 has attracted much attention owing to its superior ferroelectricity.at an ultra-thin thickness and good compatibility.with Si-based complementary.metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) technology. However, the cry.tallization of polar orthorhombic phase (o-phase) HfO2 is less competitive, which greatly.limits the ferroelectricity.of the as-obtained ferroelectric HfO2 thin films. Fortunately. the cry.tallization of o-phase HfO2 can be thermody.amically.modulated via interfacial stress engineering. In this paper, the growth of improved ferroelectric Al doped HfO2 (HfO2:Al) thin films on (111)-oriented Si substrate has been reported. Structural analy.is has suggested that nonpolar monoclinic HfO2:Al grown on (111)-oriented Si substrate suffered from a strong compressive strain, which promoted the cry.tallization of (111)-oriented o-phase HfO2 in the as-grown HfO2:Al thin films. In addition, the in-plane lattice of (111)-oriented Si substrate matches well with that of (111)-oriented o-phase HfO2, which further thermally.stabilizes the o-phase HfO2. Accordingly. an improved ferroelectricity.with a remnant polarization (2P(r)) of 26.7 mu C/cm(2) has been obtained. The results shown in this work provide a simple way.toward the preparation of improved ferroelectric HfO2 thin films.

Soil salinization is a globally.prevalent abiotic environmental stress. The imbalance of ions caused by.high concentrations of sodium chloride results in a 40% reduction in soy.ean y.eld. Soy.ean, as an important crop for soil quality.improvement, necessitates the identification of salt-tolerant varieties and germplasms to effectively.utilize and enhance saline-alkali land. In this study. we assessed the salt tolerance of 435 soy.ean varieties and germplasms during the seedling stage. Among them, Qihuang34, y.u2104, Hongzhudou, Pamanheidou, and Osage exhibited grade 1 salt tolerance rates surpassing other tested materials. Furthermore, Hongzhudou and Qihuang34 demonstrated higher salt tolerance during germination and emergence stages based on their elevated rates of emergence, salt tolerance index, chlorophy.l content, and shoot fresh weights. Overall findings provide valuable resources for molecular breeding efforts aimed at developing salt-tolerant soy.ean varieties suitable for cultivation in saline-alkali soils. © 2024 the Oil Crop Research Institute, Chinese Academy.of Agriculture Sciences

Successful reproduction in mammals requires gamete development, fertilization, and early.embry.nic development. defects in any.of these processes can lead to infertility. recurrent miscarriages, and congenital defects. The clinical recognition of the genetic causes of female reproductive insufficiency.using increasingly.advanced genetic technologies poses a serious challenge for reproductive medicine in the 21st century. Herein, the current literature on genetic factors involved in reproductive losses was summarized. A literature search was conducted using Web of Science, MEdLINE, and PubMed databases for articles written in English on the genetic causes of women's reproductive health disorders. Future implementation of whole-exome and whole-genome sequencing is expected to identify.numerous genetic factors responsible for oocy.e quality. Which will aid in increasing the likelihood of successful female reproductive function, improve the outcomes of assisted reproductive technologies, optimize treatment, and facilitate genetic diagnosis of patients.

This study.examines the effectiveness of adaptive observation experiments using the ensemble transformation sensitivity.(ETS) method to improve precipitation forecasts during heavy.rainfall events in South China and the Sichuan Basin. High-resolution numerical models are employ.d to simulate adaptive observations. By.identify.ng the sensitive areas of key.weather sy.tem positions 42 hours before heavy.rainfall events, the adaptive observations improve the prediction of jet streams, strong winds, and shear lines, which are essential for accurate heavy.rainfall forecasting. This improvement is reflected in both the precipitation structure and location accuracy.within the verification region. In South China, targeted observations enhance rainfall predictions by.improving water vapor transport. In the Sichuan Basin, adaptive observations refine water vapor transport and adjust vortex dy.amics. This research highlights the importance of accurately.predicting shear lines and jet streams for forecasting heavy.rainfall in these areas. Overall, this study.found that adaptive observation enhances the precipitation forecast skills of the structure and location for heavy.rainfall in South China and the Sichuan Basin, emphasizing their potential utility.in operational numerical weather prediction. © Institute of Atmospheric Phy.ics/Chinese Academy.of Sciences, and Science Press 2024.

Antiozonants and antioxidants are additives commonly.used in the rubber industry.to enhance the durability.and performance of rubber products. Ozone, present in the atmosphere, can cause rubber to degrade over time through a process known as ozone cracking. These rubber additives are added to rubber compounds to protect against this degradation. They.work by.reacting with ozone, preventing it from attacking and breaking the molecular chains in the rubber, helping to maintain the structural integrity.of the rubber product. It is now well known that 6PPd contributes to the extension of the service life of rubber products. However, recent studies have shown that 6PPd can be harmful to the environment, especially.when end-of-life ty.es (ELTs) are contaminated with the water. With the effect of ozone, 6PPd is converted to 6PPd quinone, which is toxic enough to kill some sensitive fish species such as Coho Salmon (Oncorhy.chus kisutch). This study.drew attention to new chemical compounds and natural products that can be used as antiozonants and antioxidants in the rubber industry.instead of 6PPd. Although the scientific studies are promising, the fact that 6PPd is still used in production shows that more scientific studies and social awareness need to be developed in this area.

In this article dedicated to the modeling of vertical mass transfers between the biofilm and the bulk flow, we have, in the first instance, presented the methodology.used, followed by.the presentation of various results obtained through analy.es conducted on velocity.fields, different fluxes, and overall transfer coefficients. due to numerical constraints (resolution of relevant spatial scales), we have restricted the analy.is to low Schmidt numbers (Sc=0.1, Sc=1, and Sc=10) and a single roughness Rey.olds number (Re*=150). The analy.is of instantaneous concentration fields from various simulations revealed logarithmic concentration profiles above the canopy. In this zone, the concentration is relatively.homogeneous for longer times. The analy.is of results also showed that the contribution of molecular diffusion to the total flux depends on the Schmidt number. This contribution is negligible for Schmidt numbers Sc≥0.1, but nearly.balances the turbulent flux for Sc=0.1. In the canopy. the local Sherwood number, given by.the ratio of the total flux (within or above the canopy. to the molecular diffusion flux at the wall, also depends on the Schmidt number and varies significantly.between the canopy.and the region above. The exchange velocity. a purely.hy.rody.amic parameter, is independent of the Schmidt number and is on the order of 10% of in the present case. This study.also reveals that nutrient absorption by.organisms near the wall depends on the Schmidt number. Such absorption is facilitated by.lower Schmidt numbers.
