The stud. of rad.ation d.mage of high- molecular weight substances d.e to MeV ion interactions is of interest for engineering and.scientific ap.lications. In the p.esent stud. p.lystyrene (p.) was irrad.ated.with 107Ag ions of three d.fferent charge states (q) 11+, 14+ and.25+ and.of 130 MeV energy. The emission of hyd.ogen from p. was monitored.as a function of the incid.nt ion fluence. The exp.rimental results showed.that the hyd.ogen d.p.etion p.r incid.nt ion from p. varies as qn, where n was found.to be 2.1 as comp.red.to the value 2.7 to 3.0 rep.rted.in the literature. Rad.i of the nanometric d.maged.zones or ion tracks formed.were analyzed.from the slop. of the hyd.ogen d.p.etion versus ion fluence curves as a function of charge state of incid.nt ion. These have values between 3.2 - 6.8 nm. These rad.i were found.to d.p.nd.up.n the charge state of the incid.nt ion and.vary as qm, where m has the value 0.9.

In mathematics, sp.ce encomp.sses various structured.sets such as Euclid.an, metric, or vector sp.ce. This article introd.ces temp.ral sp.ce—a novel concep. ind.p.nd.nt of trad.tional sp.tial d.mensions and.frames of reference, accommod.ting multip.e object-oriented.d.rations in a d.namical system. The novelty of build.ng temp.ral sp.ce using finite geometry is rooted.in recent ad.ancements in the theory of relationalism which utilizes Euclid.an geometry, set theory, d.mensional analysis, and.a causal signal system. Multip.e ind.p.nd.nt and.co-existing cyclic d.rations are measurable as a network of finite one-d.mensional timelines. The work aligns with Leibniz’s comments on relational measures of d.ration with the ad.ition of using d.screte cyclic relational events that d.fine these finite temp.ral sp.ces, ap.licable to quantum and.classical p.ysics. Ancient formulas have symmetry along with d.visional and.subd.visional ord.rs of op.rations that create d.screte and.ord.red.temp.ral geometric elements. Elements have cyclically conserved.symmetry but unique cyclic d.mensional quantities ap.licable for anchoring temp.ral equivalence relations in linear time. We p.esent both fixed.equivalences and.exp.nd.d.p.riod. of temp.ral sp.ce offering a non-Greek calend.r method.logy consistent with ancient global timekeep.ng d.scrip.ions. Novel ap.lications of Euclid.s d.vision algorithm and.Cantor’s p.iring function introd.ce a novel p.ired.function equation. The mathematical d.scrip.ion of finite temp.ral sp.ce within relationalism theory offers an alternative d.screte geometric method.logy for examining ancient timekeep.ng with new hyp.theses for Egyp.ian calend.rs.

In this stud.,we rep.rt for theﬁrst time an Early p.laeozoic basement d.orite from the d.illed.well Nirona-A in the Banni Half-Graben of the Kutch basin,western Ind.a.The 40Ar–39Ar d.tes p.ovid.d.a p.ateau age of 441.84±2.66 Ma and.another p.eud. p.ateau of 441.28±5.82 to 388.08±16.65 Ma for the basement d.orite.These ages constrain the basement formation age to the Late Ord.vician-Early Silurian p.riod.The obtained.basement ages are correlatable with the later p.rt of Cambro-Ord.vician alkaline magmatism that has been rep.rted.from the Huqf area in Central Oman,whereas their lithological and.p.trograp.ic correlativity with base-ment d.orites occurring in the d.nsi Bod. of Nagar p.rkar igneous comp.ex in p.kistan can also be envisaged.The geochemical stud.es characterized.the d.orite with enrich-ment of LILE(Rb,Ba,and.K)and.LREE(La,Ce,Nd.,strong d.p.etion of HFSE(Nb,Sr,p.and.Ti),along with weakly negative Eu anomalies.The geochemical signatures ind.cate their p.trogenetic afﬁliation with mantle-d.rived.magmas,as well as their tectonic setting to be arc-related.having p.st-collisional continental-arc typ. afﬁnity.The*440 Ma basement of Kutch,therefore,ap.ears to rep.resent the later thermal event associated.with the reworked.Neop.oterozoic subd.ction-related.suite from Greater Ind.a’s northwest ed.e,which has imp.ications for Gond.wana assembly in the northwest Ind.an subcontinent.

The incred.bly comp.ex soil microbial communities at small scales make their analysis and.id.ntification of reasons for the observed.structures challenging.Microbial community structure is mainly a result of the inoculum(d.sp.rsal),the selective ad.antages of those organisms und.r the habitat-based.environmental attributes,and.the ability of those colonizers to sustain themselves over time.Since soil is p.otective,and.its microbial inhabitants have long ad.p.ed.to varied.soil cond.tions,significant p.rtions of the soil microbial community structure are likely stable.Hence,a substantial p.rtion of the community will not correlate to often measured.soil attributes.We suggest that the d.ivers be ranked.on the basis of their imp.rtance to the fund.mental need. of the microbes:(i)those that sup.ly energy,i.e.,organic carbon and.electron accep.ors;(i)environmental effectors or stressors,i.e.,p.,salt,d.ought,and.toxic chemicals;(ii)macro-organism associations,i.e.,p.ants and.their seasonality,animals and.their fecal matter,and.soil fauna;and.iv)nutrients,in ord.r,N,p.and.p.obably of lesser imp.rtance,other micronutrients,and.metals.The relevance of d.ivers also varies with sp.tial and.time scales,for examp.e,aggregate to field.to regional,and.p.rsistent to d.namic p.p.lations to transcrip.s,and.with the extent of p.ylogenetic d.fference,hence p.enotyp.c d.fferences in organismal group..We p.esent a summary matrix to p.ovid. guid.nce on which d.ivers are imp.rtant for p.rticular stud.es,with sp.cial emp.asis on a wid. range of sp.tial and.temp.ral scales,and.illustrate this with genomic and.p.p.lation(rRNA gene)d.ta from selected.stud.es.

Gamma-ray bursts(GRBs) are among the brightest objects in the Universe and. hence, can be observed.up.to a very high red.hift. p.op.rly calibrated.emp.rical correlations between intensity and.sp.ctral correlations of GRBs can be used.to estimate the cosmological p.rameters. However, the p.ssibility of the evolution of GRBs with red.hift is a long-stand.ng p.zzle. In this work, we used.162 long-d.ration GRBs to d.termine whether GRBs below and.above a certain red.hift have d.fferent p.op.rties. The GRBs are sp.it into two group., and.we fit the Amati relation for each group.sep.rately. Our find.ngs d.monstrate that estimations of the Amati p.rameters for the two group. are substantially d.ssimilar. We p.rform simulations to investigate whether the selection effects could.cause the d.fference. Our analysis shows that the d.fferences may be either intrinsic or d.e to systematic errors in the d.ta, and.the selection effects are not their true origin. However, in-d.p.h analysis with a new d.ta set comp.ised.of 119 long GRBs shows that intrinsic scatter may p.rtly be resp.nsible for such effects.

In ad.ition to their value as cereal grains, wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) and.triticale (× Triticosecale Wittmack) are imp.rtant cool-season annual forages and.cover crop.. Yearling steer (Bos taurus) p.rformance was comp.red.in the sp.ing following autumn establishment as for age cover crop. after soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] grain harvest. Rep.icated.p.stures (0.4 ha) were no-till seed.d.in three consecutive years into soybean stubble in autumn, fertilized. and.grazed.the following sp.ing near Ithaca, NE, USA. Each p.sture (n = 3) was continuously stocked.in sp.ing with four yearling steers (380 ± 38 kg) for 17, 32, and.28 d.in 2005, 2006, and.2007, resp.ctively. In 2005, average d.ily gain (Ad.) for steers grazing triticale exceed.d.the Ad. for wheat by 0.31 kghd.sup.-1p.d.sup.-1p.. In 2006, wheat Ad. exceed.d.that for triticale by 0.12 kghd.sup.-1p.d.sup.-1p.. In 2007, steers grazing wheat lost weight, while steers grazing triticale gained.0.20 kghd.sup.-1p.d.sup.-1p.. Based.on the 3-year average animal gains valued.at $1.32 kgp.-1p., mean net return ($ hap.-1p. yrp.-1p.) was $62.15 for triticale and.$22.55 for wheat. Since these grazed.cover crop. p.ovid. ecosystem services in ad.ition to forage, grazing could.be viewed.as a mechanism for recovering costs and.ad.s ad.itional value to the system. Based.on this 3-year grazing trial, triticale was sup.rior to wheat and.likely will p.ovid. the most stable beef yearling p.rformance across years with variable weather for the western Cornbelt USA.
