Triadimefon(TDM)and cyproconazole(CPZ)are two triazoles widely used as *** azoles were synthe-sised starting from commercial TDM and *** compounds were evaluated against phytopathogenic filamentous fungi,including Aspergillus fumigatus(AF),***(AN),***(AU),***(AJ),***(AT),Fusarium oxyspo-rum and Botrytis cinerea isolated from grapevine in the province of San Juan,*** of the synthesised compounds(1-(Biphenyl-4-yloxy)-3,3-dimethyl-1-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)butan-2-one,1;2-(Biphenyl-4-yl)-3-cyclopropyl-1-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)butan-2-ol,3;3-Cyclopropyl-2-(4’-fluorobiphenyl-4-yl)-1-(1H-1,2,4-triazol1-yl)butan-2-ol,4)presented remarkable in vitro fungicidal properties,with better effects than TDM and CPZ on some of the target *** was assessed using human lung fibroblasts *** 1,with IC50 values of 389.4μM,was less toxic towards MRC-5 human lung fibroblasts than commercial TDM(248.5μM)and CPZ(267.4μM).Docking analysis and molecular dynamics simulations suggest that the compounds present the same interaction in the binding pocket of the CYP51B enzyme and with the same amino acids as *** derivatives investigated could be considered broad-spectrum but with some selectivity towards imperfect fungi.

Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation(alloHSCT)is a life-saving procedure used for the treatment of selected hematological malignancies,inborn errors of metabolism,and bone marrow *** role of neutrophils in alloHSCT has been traditionally evaluated only in the context of their ability to act as a first line of defense against ***,recent evidence has highlighted neutrophils as key effectors of innate and adaptive immune responses through a wide array of newly discovered ***,neutrophils are emerging as highly versatile cells that are able to acquire different,often opposite,functional capacities depending on the microenvironment and their differentiation ***,we review the current knowledge on the multiple functions that neutrophils exhibit through the different stages of alloHSCT,from the hematopoietic stem cell(HSC)mobilization in the donor to the immunological reconstitution that occurs in the recipient following HSC *** also discuss the influence exerted on neutrophils by the immunosuppressive drugs delivered in the course of alloHSCT as part of graft-versushost disease(GVHD)***,the potential involvement of neutrophils in alloHSCT-related complications,such as transplant-associated thrombotic microangiopathy(TA-TMA),acute and chronic GVHD,and cytomegalovirus(CMV)reactivation,is also *** on the data reviewed herein,the role played by neutrophils in alloHSCT is far greater than a simple antimicrobial ***,much remains to be investigated in terms of the potential functions that neutrophils might exert during a highly complex procedure such as alloHSCT.

Recent results on radiative K^± decays from the NA48/2 experiment are reported. From the full NA48/2 data set, about a million K^±→π^±π^γ decays were reconstructed. Based on this sample, the first measurement of the interference between direct photon emission and inner bremsstrahlung in K^±→π^±π^γ decays was performed. Stringent limits on CP violation in this decay were also set. In addition, a precise measurement of the branching fraction of K^±→π^±γγ is presented. This measurement was based on a data sample of more than 1000 event candidates. Also the related decay K^±→π^±e^＋e^-γ has first been observed. Results of the measurement of the decay rate and the decay parameter 5 are summarized.

Spatial modelling of deforestation in Romanian Carpathian Mountains using GIS and Logistic Regression

Deforestation process represents a wide concern mainly in the mountain environments due to its role in global warming, biodiversity loss, land degradation and natural hazards occurrence. Thus, the present study is focused on the largest afforested landform unit of Romania and, consequently, the most affected area by forest losses: Carpathian Mountains. The main goal of the paper is to examine and analyze the various explanatory variables associated with deforestation process and to model the probability of deforestation using GIS spatial analysis and logistic regression. The forest cover for 1990 and 2012, derived from CORINE Land Cover(CLC) database, were used to quantify historical forest cover change included in the modelling. To explain the biophysical and anthropogenic effects, this study considered several explanatory factors related to local topography, forest cover pattern, accessibility, urban growth and population density. Using ROC(Receiver Operating Characteristic) and 500 controlling sampling points, the statistical and spatial validations were assessed in order to evaluate the performance of the resulted data. The analysis showed that the area experienced a continuous forest cover change, leading to the loss of over 250,000 ha of forested area during the period 1990–2012. The most significant influence of the explanatory factors of deforestation were noticed in case of distance to forest edge(β=–4.215), forest fragmentation(β=2.231), slope declivity(β=–1.901), elevation(β=1.734) and distance to roads(β=–1.713). The statistical and spatial validation indicates a good accuracy of the model with reasonably AUC(0.736) and Kappa(0.739) values. The model's results suggest an intensification of the deforestation process in the area, designing numerous new clusters with high probability in the Apuseni Mountains, northern and central part of the Eastern Carpathians, western part of the Southern Carpathians and northern part of the Banat Mountains. This article describes the practice of co-evolutionary and transformative resilience through a case study con-ducted in Turin(Italy).According to a broad definition,resilience includes performing actions of urban design and planning,innovating community-based project procedures,and creating positive financial outcomes that are assessable because of the monitoring process of short-and long-term outcomes and *** the Turin-based case of the Bottom Up!Architecture Festival,this article observes processes in which resilience is in action in metropolitan areas,feeding urban projects and practices of self-organization of the social and financial actors *** applying the definition of community projects,the festival manages to take territorial problems and crises(the pandemic,inequality,etc.)and view them as an opportunity to change the system,recommending in-tegrated action on the natural,cultural,financial,and social capital,innovating practices and holding society and institutions more *** transformation of spaces relies on collaborations between social and institu-tional actors,operating spatially concentrated transformations in the city of Turin,and using flexible governance tools based on co-planning and crowdfunding for project design and financing.

Blood extracellular vesicles (EVs) of central nervous system origin: a window into the brain

Extracellular vesicles(EVs)are heterogeneous nano-sized vesicles of endocytic origin shed into blood and other body fluids such as urine,saliva,seminal fluid,ascites,amniotic liquid,synovial fluid,breast milk and cerebrospinal fluid(CSF)by quite all cell *** actively contribute to intercellular communication as they carry bioactive molecules that are selectively incorporated by the originating cell and are delivered to recipient cells over long and short distances(Simons and Raposo,2009).EVs can be divided into three main groups according to their size and cellular origin:1)exosomes(40–120 nm),that have an endocytic origin and are formed by inward budding of the limiting membrane of multivescicular bodies,which fuse with the plasma membrane and release exosomes into the extracellular space;2)microvesicles(50–1000 nm),budding directly off the plasma membrane;3)apoptotic bodies(>1000 nm),which are released during *** originating via distinct processes,different subtypes of EVs carry different proteins within their membrane and luminal compartments that reflect the phenotype of the tissue of origin.

Aquaporin 5 in Alzheimer’s disease:a link between oral and brain pathology?

The involvement of aquaporins(AQPs)in the development of diseases has been widely described(Azad et al.,2021).AQP5 has been described in astrocytes changing after traumatic brain injuries(Chai et al.,2013),but the precise role of AQP5 in Alzheimer’s disease(AD)pathology is yet to be *** have recently reported that AQP5 expression changes during the development of AD(Antequera et al.,2022).The AQP5 expression in salivary glands is decreased in 6-month-old APP/PS1 mice and AD *** decrease in AQP5 expression could be involved in the mechanism of salivary gland dysfunction described in a previous study(Antequera et al.,2021).Now,we propose a new indirect role of AQP5 in the connection between infection-induced oral dysbiosis and AD(Sureda et al.,2020).Here,we suggest that the proinflammatory response induced by oral pathogen infection results in the downregulation of AQP5 contributing to the salivary gland secretory *** these alterations destabilize the peripheral immune-inflammatory balance and exacerbate neuroinflammation and neurodegeneration leading to AD pathology.

Vee-tail conceptual design criteria for commercial transport aeroplanes

Vee-tail configuration is an unconventional tail configuration for commercial transport aviation, the use of which could suppose reductions on CO2 emissions. The conceptual design criteria have been selected inspired on the certification requirements established by the aviation regulation in force. They are static stability in cruise, control after Critical Engine Failure(CEF),control in crosswind landing, and trim in these three conditions. The study is carried out through a combination of semi-empirical techniques and Vortex-Lattice Methods(VLM) and thus this analyses the consequences of applying these criteria to a reference aeroplane substituting its conventional tail by a parametrised Vee-tail configuration. The Vee-tail is defined by four parameters:span, root chord, taper ratio and dihedral angle. The results of the study establish a relation between the parameters in order to accomplish the proposed conceptual design criteria. To sum up, minimum and maximum limits are obtained for dihedral angle depending on the combination of the rest of parameters. In addition, a design restriction to the yawing trailing-edge tail control is reached when the results are analysed, demonstrating that its minimum size must be between 60%and 80% of the half-span of the tail, depending on the Vee-tail geometry.

Can dietary flavonoids be useful in the personalized treatment of colorectal cancer?
