This paper offers a comprehensive overview on the role of nanostructures in the development of advanced anode materials for application in both lithium and sodium-ion batteries. In particular, this review highlights the differences between the two chemistries, the critical effect of nanosize on the electrode performance, as well as the routes to exploit the inherent potential of nanostructures to achieve high specific energy at the anode, enhance the rate capability, and obtain a long cycle life. Furthermore, it gives an overview of nanostructured sodium- and lithium-based anode materials, and presents a critical analysis of the advantages and issues associated with the use of nanotechnology.

高速动车组一系垂向半主动悬挂研究

轻量化是轨道交通车辆发展的重要方向,可降低车辆能耗和运营维护成本.然而车体轻量化改变了车体弹性模态频率,增大了车体结构振动,造成车辆垂向舒适性恶化.提出了一系垂向半主动悬挂策略,即采用可变阻尼减振器替换原有一系垂向减振器,通过对减振器阻尼特性进行实时控制,改善车体刚性和一阶弯曲模态振动.分析了车体刚性和弹性振动与构架振动的耦合关系,在此基础上对一系半主动悬挂的工作原理进行阐述.改进了经典的车辆垂向动力学模型,通过模型计算验证了车体和构架的多种耦合振动关系.对磁流变阻尼减振器的动态特性开展试验测试,建立了该减振器的动力学模型,实现对磁流变阻尼减振器非线性特性的准确预测.以国内某高速列车为原型,建立了完整的车辆动力学模型,并结合磁流变阻尼减振器动力学模型,对一系半主动悬挂的控制策略和应用效果展开研究,得到了两种易于工程应用的控制方法.结果表明一系半主动悬挂对车辆垂向振动,尤其是车体一阶弯曲振动具有显著的控制效果,可改善车辆垂向舒适性指标约30%.

AIM:To ascertain whether carotid lesions are more prevalent in outpatients with incidental findings of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) at abdominal ultrasound (US).METHODS: One hundred and fifty-four consecutive outpatients (age range 24-90 years, both sexes) referred by general practitioners for abdominal US, and drinking less than 20 g alcohol/day, underwent carotid US for an assessment of carotid intima-media thickness (c-IMT) and carotid plaque prevalence. Hepatic steatosis, visceral fat thickness and subcutaneous fat thickness were also assessed at ***: Higher c-IMT values were found in the presence of NAFLD (90 patients), even after adjustment for indices of general and abdominal obesity and for the principal cardiovascular risk factors (0.84±0.10 mm vs 0.71±0.10 mm, Pdition (P=0.02). The adjusted relative risk of having carotid plaques for patients with NAFLD was 1.85 (95% CI:1.33-2.57, Pding of hepatic steatosis may suggest the presence of silent carotid atherosclerotic lesions.

Expression of Recombinant Tryptophan Decarboxylase in different Subcellular Compartments in Tobacco Plant

The gene encoded for tryptophan decarboxylase (TDC), which is the key enzyme in terpenoil indole alkaloids pathway, was targeted to different subcellular compartments and stably expressed in transgenic tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L.) plants at the levels detected by Western blot and tryptamine accumulation analysis. It was shown that the TDC was located in subcellular compartments, the chloroplasts and cytosol. The recombinant TDC targeted to chloroplasts and cytosol in tobacco plants was effectively expressed as soluble protein by Western blot analysis and enzymatic assay. The level of tryptamine accumulation in chloroplast was higher than that in cytosol and very low in vacuole and endoplasmic reticulum (ER) to be hardly detected by Western blot analysis. It was indicated that the highest amount of tryptamine was in chloroplasts, lower in endoplasmic reticula and the lowest in vacuoles as compared to those in wild type plants. The TDC targeted to different subcellular compartments of tobacco plants and its expression level were studied by different nucleotide sequences coding signal peptides at 5'-end of tdc gene in order to know the effects of the TDC in compartmentation on its functionality.

Life expectancy in industrialized and developed countries will continue to increase in the near future. Consequently, over the last years, the incidence and social impact of neurodegenerative diseases have increased, highlighting an urgent need for new and more effective therapeutic strategies to counter these terrible disorders. While we tend to think about neurodegenerative diseases as conditions that are uniquely associated with the elder age, these diseases cover a diverse range across the entire lifespan, even affecting infants and children.

Expression of Strictosidine Synthase in Selected Subcellular Compartments of Tobacco Plant

Strictosidine synthase (STR) is a key enzyme involved in the biosynthesis of terpenoid indole alkaloids (TIA) by condensing tryptamine and secologanin into strictosidine. The transgenic tobacco plants targeting STR to subcellular compartments were established to express STR in chloroplast, vacuole and endoplasmic reticulum (ER) by the tobacco stable transformation. It was shown that STR was effectively expressed in the above subcellular compartments by Western blot analysis and STR enzymatic assay. In vitro , STR enzymatic assay was measured indirectly by fluorimetrically detecting depletion of tryptamine feeding on secologanin in the reaction mixture. The tryptamine were completely depleted by STR in the crude extract of leaves of transgenic tobacco plants targeting and expressing STR in the chloroplast, vacuole and ER, which ascertained the STR functionally targeted to the three subcellular compartments. To confirm STR correct targeting and expressing in chloroplast, the chloroplasts were isolated and the fractions of purified chloroplasts were analyzed by Western blot. The hypothesis of STR correct targeting to the chloroplast was tested. The results have implications on our understanding of the complex intracellular trafficking in metabolic intermediates of TIA biosynthesis.
