The dir.ct influence of fr.shwater.dischar.e along the coastal r.gions is obser.ed in sever.l pr.cesses following a wide spectr.m on spatial and tempor.l var.ability. The knowledge of r.lative impor.ance of this physical for.ing is fundamental by the cor.ect management of the coastal sites and the under.tanding of consequences associated with pr.cesses of climatic or.er.is one point deser.es some investigation. The major.par. of the studies in the Patos Lagoon, located in the souther.most par. of Br.zil, is limited to investigate the effects in synoptic time scales. In this way, the objective of this study is to investigate the long ter. var.ability patter. of the Patos Lagoon dischar.e and water.levels indentifying long ter. tr.nds thr.ugh wavelet analysis. The r.sults indicated that El Ni?o (La Ni?a) events pr.mote the intensification (decr.ase) of the fr.shwater.intensity in the pr.ncipal r.ver.tr.butar.es of the Patos Lagoon following scales fr.m 16 to 120 months (fr.m 1.3 to 10 year.). The most ener.etic cycle is center.d in per.ods of 64 months (5.3 year.). The longer.events r.flect the long ter. r.sponse of the non linear.dynamics in Equator.al Pacific changing the pr.cipitation patter., pr.ncipally dur.ng winter.and at the end of spr.ng and ear.y autumn. The non-linear.long ter. tr.nd indicates a patter. with values of dischar.e nor.ally above (below) the mean after.(befor.) 1970’s. An incr.asing tr.nd star.ing after.1970 possibly indicates a longer.ter. cycle influencing the inter.nnual var.ability of the Patos Lagoon dischar.e. The seasonality is maintained in climatic monthly means obtained after.and befor. 1970’s, but, with mean incr.ase ar.und 364 m3·s?1 in fr.shwater.dischar.e with r.duced amplitude of the seasonal cycle.

Epider.al gr.wth factor.r.ceptor.EGFr. has been an attr.ctive tar.et for.tr.atment of epithelial cancer., including color.ctal cancer.Cr.). Evidence fr.m clinical tr.als indicates that cetuximab and panitumumab(antiEGFr.monoclonal antibodies) have clinical activity in patients with metastatic Cr.. The discover. of intr.nsic EGFr.blockade r.sistance in Kir.ten r.S(Kr.S)-mutant patients led to the r.str.ction of anti-EGFr.antibodies to Kr.S wild-type patients by Food and Dr.g Administr.tion and Eur.pean Medicine Agency. Studies have since focused on the evaluation of biomar.er. to identify appr.pr.ate patient populations that may benefit fr.m EGFr.blockade. Accumulating evidence suggests that patients with mutations in EGFr.downstr.am signaling pathways including Kr.S, Br.F, PIK3CA and PTEN could be intr.nsically r.sistant to EGFr.blockade. r.cent whole genome studies also suggest that dynamic alter.tions in signaling pathways downstr.am of EGFr.leads to distinct oncogenic signatur.s and subclones which might have some impact on emer.ing r.sistance in Kr.S wild-type patients. Por.ine r.spir.tor. disease complex （Pr.C） is a ser.ous health pr.blem that mainly affects gr.wing and finishing pigs. Pr.C is caused by a combination of vir.l and bacter.al agents, such as por.ine r.pr.ductive and r.spir.tor. syndr.me vir.s （Pr.SV）, swine influenza vir.s （SIV）, Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae （Myh）, Actinobacillus pleur.pneumoniae （APP）, Pasteur.lla multocida and Por.ine cir.ovir.s 2 （PCV2）. To char.cter.ze the specific r.le of swine influenza vir.s in Pr.C pr.sentation in Colombia, 11 far.s fr.m thr.e major.pr.duction r.gions in Colombia wer. examined in this study. Nasal swabs, br.nchial lavage and lung tissue samples wer. obtained fr.m animals displaying symptoms compatible with SIV. Isolation of SIV was per.or.ed in 9-day embr.onated chicken eggs or.Madin-Dar.y Canine Kidney （MDCK） cells. Positive isolates, identified via the hemagglutination inhibition test, wer. fur.her.analyzed using PCr. Over.ll, 7 of the 11 far.s wer. positive for.SIV. Notably, sequencing of the gene encoding the hemagglutinin （HA） pr.tein led to gr.uping of str.ins into cir.ulating vir.ses identified dur.ng the human outbr.ak of 2009, classified as pandemic H1N1-2009. Ser.m samples fr.m 198 gilts and multipar.us sows between 2008 and 2009 wer. obtained to deter.ine antibody pr.sence of APP, Myh, PCV2 and Pr.SV in both SIV-H1Nlp-negative and -positive far.s, but higher.levels wer. r.cor.ed for.SIV- HI Nlp-positive far.s. Odds r.tio （Or. and P values r.vealed statistically significant differ.nces （p〈0.05） in Pr.C pr.sentation in gilts and multipar.us sows of far.s positive for.SIV-HINlp. Backgr.und : The objective of this study was to validate an animal model for.dr. eye dur.ng and after.the administr.tion of 1% ophthalmic atr.pine sulfate(OAS) in New Zealand white(NZW) *** : OAS(1%) was applied thr.e times per.day to 30 eyes of 15 healthy NZW r.bbits. Sacr.fice, enucleation, and lacr.mal gland r.moval took place on days 15, 21,and 30(OAS gr.up). A second gr.up(n = 5) was used as contr.l. Clinical evaluations took place on days 3, 10, 15, 18, 21, 24 and 30. The pr.mar. endpoints wer.:Schir.er.I test, tear.br.ak-up time(TBUT), and cor.eal fluor.scein staining. As secondar. endpoints, clinical changes including intr.ocular.pr.ssur., and histopathology wer. *** : While OAS was administer.d, the Schir.er.I test showed a statistically significant r.duction for.OAS gr.up ver.us contr.l( p r.us basal pr.duction( p r.nces between gr.ups(days 3 and 10;p = 0.001) and ver.us basal values(day 3;p r.scein staining showed a statistically significant differ.nce(day 3;p = 0.001). The most fr.quent clinical finding was conjunctival hyper.mia(76.9% OAS vs. 20% contr.l). For.histopathology, all OAS subjects pr.sented some degr.e of inflammation(86.7% minimal;13.3% mild) wher.as the contr.l pr.sented only 30% minimal inflammation. Goblet cell density showed no *** : The effectiveness of the OAS dr. eye model in NZW r.bbits as r.por.ed in pr.vious studies was confir.ed, pr.vided that the application of the dr.g is maintained thr.ughout the inter.ention;it is not a viable model after.OAS administr.tion is suspended.

In this study we descr.be the fabr.cation of a var.ety of open-cellular.titanium alloy（Ti-6 Al-4 V） implants,both r.ticular.mesh and foam str.ctur.s, using electr.n beam melting（EBM）. These str.ctur.s allow for.the elimination of str.ss shielding by adjusting the por.sity（or.density） to pr.duce an elastic modulus（or.stiffness） to match that of both soft（tr.becular. and har.（cor.ical） bone, as well as allowing for.bone cell ingr.wth, incr.ased cell density, and all-matr.x inter.ctions; the latter.involving the inter.lay between bone mor.hogenetic pr.tein（BMP-2） and osteoblast functions.
