Effect of substitution of Si by Al on the microstructure and mechanical properties of bainitic transformation-induced plasticity steels

The effect of partial or full substitution of Si by Al on the microstructure and mechanical properties has been extensively studied in multi-phase transformation-induced plasticity（TRIP） steels with polygonal ferrite matrix, but rarely studied in bainitic TRIP steels. The aim of the present study is to properly investigate the effect of Al and Si on bainite transformation, microstructure and mechanical properties in bainitic steels in order to provide guidelines for the alloying design as a function of process parameters for the 3 rd generation advanced high strength steels（AHSS）. It is shown from the dilatometry study,microstructural investigations and tensile properties measurements that the Al addition results in an acceleration whereas Si addition leads to a retardation in bainite transformation kinetics. The addition of Al retards the decomposition of austenite into pearlite and carbides at holding temperatures higher than450℃ whereas Si retards the decomposition of austenite into carbides at temperatures lower than 450℃.Consequently, the Al-added bainitic steel has a better strength-elongation combination at bainitic holding temperatures higher than 450℃ while Si-added steel has a better strength-elongation combination at temperatures lower than 450℃. The higher yield strength of Al-added steel is mainly attributed to its finer bainitic lath. The higher tensile strength of Si-added steel is not only related to the stronger contribution of Si on work hardening during deformation, but also due to the higher volume fraction of martensite or martensite/austenite（MA） blocks in all heat treatment conditions, as well as the lower mechanical stability of retained austenite in this steel.

A comparison of the water management systems in France and China

This paper compares legal systems for water management in France and China, with a focus on integrated water resources management and regarding in particular the formulation of policies and their implemen- tation. The research shows that China has committed itself to the efficient management of water resources through the development of various policy tools during the current period. This commitment, however, has often been interrupted and distorted by politics, resulting in the neglect of socioeconomic and environmental priorities. France has developed a legislative framework and practical instruments to apply integrated water resources manage- ment at the river basin level since the 1960s. This experience and the current implementation of the European Water Framework Directive brings elements that can contribute to Chinese society meeting its water challenges.

There are two factors,source composition and magmatic differentiation,potentially controlling W-Sn *** one is more important is widely debated and may need to be determined for each individual *** Xitian granite batholith located in South China is a natural laboratory for investigating the above *** consists essentially of two separate components,formed in the Triassic at ca.226 Ma and Jurassic at ca.152 Ma,*** Triassic and Jurassic rocks are both composed of porphyritic and fine-grained *** latter resulted from highlydifferentiated porphyritic ones but they have similar textural characteristics and mineral assemblages,indicating that they reached a similar degree of crystal *** both fine-grained phases are highly differentiated with elevated rare metal contents,economic W–Sn mineralization is rare in the Triassic granitoids and this can be attributed to less fertile source materials than their Jurassic counterparts,with a slightly more enriched isotopic signature and whole-rockεNd(226 Ma)of−10.4 to−9.2(2σ=0.2)compared withεNd(152 Ma)of−9.2 to−8.2(2σ=0.2)for the Jurassic *** initial W-Sn enrichment was derived from the metasedimentary rocks and strongly enhanced by reworking of the continental crust,culminating in the Jurassic.

A lock solution composed of gentamicin sulfate(5 mg/mL) and ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid disodium salt(EDTA-Na2, 30 mg/mL) could fully eradicate in vivo bacterial biofilms in totally implantable venous access ports(TIVAP). In this study, fabrication, conditioning and sterilization processes of antimicrobial lock solution(ALS) were detailed and completed by a stability study. Stability of ALS was conducted for12 months in vial(25 °C 7 2 °C, 60% 7 5% relative humidity(RH), and at 40 °C 7 2 °C, RH 75% 7 5%)and for 24 h and 72 h in TIVAP(40 °C 7 2 °C, RH 75% 7 5%). A stability indicating HPLC assay with UV detection for simultaneous quantification of gentamicin sulfate and EDTA-Na2 was developed. ALS was assayed by ion-pairing high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC) needing gentamicin derivatization, EDTA-Na2 metallocomplexation of samples and gradient mobile phase. HPLC methods to separate four gentamicin components and EDTA-Na2 were validated. Efficiency of sterility procedure and conditioning of ALS was confirmed by bacterial endotoxins and sterility tests. Physicochemical stability of ALS was determined by visual inspection, osmolality, pH, and sub-visible particle counting. Results confirmed that the stability of ALS in vials was maintained for 12 months and 24 h and 72 h in TIVAP.

The possibility of infection of the human male genital tract by human herpes virus type 2 (HSV2) or human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) is well established and their sexual transmission has been the object of many studies. Moreover, medically assisted procreation, which helps in numerous fertility problems, raises the question of new viral risks linked to the application of these new technologies. In this review, we shall consider current knowledge in terms of the presence of HSV 2 and HCMV in the different parts of the genital tract of immunocompetent or immunodepressed men. We shall also consider the possibility of viral transmission by the sexual act or by the various techniques used in medically assisted procreation. We shall describe studies in human beings and in animals.

Current Issues and Interrogations in Angiosome Wound Targeted Revascularization for Chronic Limb Threatening Ischemia: A Review

Despite a lack of solid evidence in applying the angiosome concept (AC) in current chronic limb threatening ischemia (CLTI) treatment, several encouraging results for improved wound healing and less for limb preservation were reported in various consistency studies. Direct revascularization (DR) following the foot angiosomes distribution (whenever feasible) may afford better clinical results compared to angiosome indifferent, or indirect revascularization (IR), however without clear benefit on survival and for major adverse limb events (MALE). Inside this interrogation,?the notable influence of the remnant collaterals, the foot arches, the wound characteristics, and the type of revascularization (bypass versus endovascular) still remain ardent topics. Current evidence suggests that applying DR in daily vascular practice requires practitioners to be committed to every individual hemodynamic variable in a thorough macro- and micro-vascular evaluation of the ischemic foot. It becomes clearer nowadays that not all CLTI foot ulcers hold same ischemic burden and seemingly need specific DR. In the same setting,?a novel wound targeted revascularization (WTR) design was proposed assembling wider circulatory targets than genuine DR notion, as used by some authors. Beyond specific angiosomal artery reperfusion, WTR associates the available arches, the large- and medium-sized collaterals, and the arterial-arterial communicants, in an intentional “source artery” and “collateral” topographic foot revascularization. However,?up to date, the notion of angiosome wound-guided revascularization (DR and WTR) detains only a reserved level of confirmation. As for DR, the WTR equally needs higher levels of evidence allowed by standardized definition, uniform indications, and pertinent results from multicenter larger prospective analysis, before large application.
