Acetylcholinesterase(AChE) plays an important role in Alzheimer's disease(ad). The excessive activity of AChE causes various neuronal problems, particularly dementia and neuronal cell deaths. Generally, antiAChE drugs induce some serious neuronal side effects in humans. Therefore, this study sought to identify alternative drug molecules from natural products with fewer side effects than those of conventional drugs for treating ad. To achieve this, we developed computational methods for predicting drug and target binding affinities using the Schrodinger suite. The target and ligand molecules were retrieved from established databases. The target enzyme has 539 amino acid residues in its sequence alignment. Ligand molecules of 20 bioactive molecules were obtained from different kinds of plants, after which we performed critical analyses such as molecular docking; molecular dynamic(MD) simulations; and absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion(adME) analysis. In the docking studies, the natural compound rutin showed a superior docking score of à 12.335 with a good binding energy value ofà73.313 kcal/mol. Based on these findings, rutin and the target complex was used to perform MD simulations to analyze rutin stability at 30 ns. In conclusion, our study demonstrates that rutin is a superior drug candidate for ad. Therefore, we propose that this molecule is worth further investigation using in vitro studies.

AIM： To determine the association of Helicobacter pylori （H pylorl） CagA^＋ infection and pro-inflammatory polymorphisms of the genes interleukin （IL）-IRN and IL-1B with the risk of gastric atrophy and peptic ulcers in a dyspeptic population in Costa Rica, a country with high incidence and mortality of gastric cancer. METHODS： Seven biopsy specimens, a fasting blood sample and a questionnaire concerning nutritional and sociodemographic factors were obtained from 501 consecutive patients who had undergone endoscopy for dyspeptic symptoms. A histopathological diagnosis was made. Pepsinogen concentrations were analyzed by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay （ELISA）. Infection with H pylori CagA^＋ was determined by serology and polymerase chain reaction （PCR）. IL-1B and IL-1RN polymorphisms genotyping was performed by PCRrestriction fragment length polymorphism （PCR-RFIP）and PCR respectively. RESULTS： In this dyspeptic population, 86% were Hpylori positive and of these, 67.8% were positive for CagA. Atrophic antral gastritis （AAG） was associated with CagA^＋ status [odd ratio （OR） = 4.1; P 〈 0.000] and fruit consumption （OR = 0.3; P 〈 0.00）. Atrophic body gastritis （ABG） was associated with pepsinogen PGI/PGII 〈 3.4 （OR = 4.9; P 〈 0.04） and alcohol consumption （OR = 7.3; P 〈 0.02）. Duodenal ulcer was associated with CagA^＋（OR = 2.9; P 〈 0.04） and smoking （OR = 2.4; P 〈 0.04）. PGI 〈 60 μg/L as well as PGI/PGII 〈 3.4 were associated with CagA^＋. conCLUSION： In a dyspeptic population in Costa Rica, H pylori CagA^＋ is not associated with ABG, but it is a risk factor for AAG. The pro-inflammatory cytokine poly- morphisms IL-1B ＋ 3945 and IL-1RN are not associated with the atrophic lesions of this dyspeptic population.

Recent research has challenged the idea that cervid antlers are such costly traits,supporting the assertion early-life antler investment is an honest signal of adult phenotypic ***,inferences were made based on antler measurements while growing(velvet)and thus,studies on fully-formed clean antlers are needed to avoid possible bias caused by the inter-individual variation in antler growth *** studied a semi-captive population of European roe deer inhabiting a sub-Mediterranean area(Valsemana research station)and living under optimal conditions(ad libitum food supply and veterinary care).Based on repeated measurements taken from 146 individuals,we assessed whether allocation to secondary sexual traits during early life affected body mass or antler development during ***,we evaluated which body measurements better predicted future male ***,using 488 individuals,we described age-class-specific variation in male body measurements and assessed the decline in antler size between adult and senescent stages(*** of senescence).Results agree with the assertion that there is no negative effect of a high investment in antler during early life on adult antler size or body mass,but we suggest the use of clean antlers as a more robust and reliable *** variables that better predicted body mass during adulthood were yearling body mass and body size at 6 *** score between 10 and 18 months resulted in the best indicator of adult antler ***,we support the idea that the magnitude of senescence in antler size is smaller in environments with higher resource availability during winter.

AIM:To investigate the similarities and dissimilarities in patients with hepatitis B and hepatitis C,clinically and metabolically. METHODS:Fifty patients with hepatitis B virus and hepatitis C virus infection were included in this study, along with fifty healthy controls for comparison *** blood(10 mL)samples from patients and healthy subjects were collected and made to clot before serum was separated and immediately levels of the enzymes,alkaline phosphatase(ALK),creatinine phosphokinase(CPK),lactate dehydrogenase (LDH),serum glutamate oxaloacetate transaminase(sGOT)and serum glutamate pyruvate transaminase(sGPT)were determined by a kit *** total con-tent of each metal the serum samples were analyzed using atomic absorption *** of cholesterol,triglycerides,urea,creatinine and uric acid were determined using a kit method on Microlab 300. RESULTS:Serum magnesium and copper levels remained unchanged,whereas the concentration of zinc decreased and iron increased significantly in both groups of *** antioxidant activity was significantly decreased in both hepatitis B and *** the enzymes analyzed,ALK,s-GPT,LDH and s-GOT were all significantly increased in both patients with hepatitis B and C whereas CPK was significantly decreased in patients with hepatitis B and remained unchanged in patients with hepatitis C. conCLUSION:The information accumulated by this study will help provide a better understanding of involved metabolic processes in order to design appropriate therapeutic approaches for treating these patients,so they can recover and lead normal lives.

Comparison between Outcome of Myringoplasty with and without Ensuring the Patency of aditus ad Antrum

Background: Myringoplasty is a technique for the closure of the simple perforation of the tympanic membrane. For the better outcome, myringoplasty combined with cortical mastoidectomy has been tried in many studies. Objectives: To compare the outcome of repair of tympanic membrane perforations with myringoplasty alone versus myringoplasty with opening of blocked aditus if any by doing antrostomy. Methodology: This was a prospective study. Patients included in the study were randomly allocated into 2 groups, the group I and the group II. The group I included 17 patients undergoing myringoplasty with antrostomy and the group II included 17 patients undergoing only myringoplasty. The blocked aditus was made patent if it was found blocked during antrostomy procedure. Graft uptake rate and improvement in conductive hearing loss were measured as success rate. Results: Mean age of the patients in the group I was 23.12 ± 7.55 years. The mean age of patients in the group II was 25.53 ± 8.79 years. In the group I unilateral disease was present in 6 (35%) cases. In the group II unilateral disease was present in 12 (70.5%) cases. In the group I subtotal perforation was present in 9 (52.9%) cases and moderate to large perforation was present in 8 (47%) cases. In the group II subtotal perforation and moderate to large perforation were present in 9 (52.9%) and 8 (47%) cases respectively. aditus was found to be blocked in eleven (64.7%) patients in the group I. Successful graft uptake was seen in twelve cases (70.58%) in the group I and eleven cases (64.7%) in the group II with all of them showing improvement in hearing. The success rate of the group I was 70.58% while success rate of the group II was 64.7%. The mean of pre-operative and post-operative air-bone gap was 31.94 ± 11.7 dB and 24.8 ± 10.55 dB respectively in the group I with the mean hearing gain of 7.06 ± 3.9 dB. The advancements in Mobile ad-hoc Network(MANET)are suitable to wide applications,which involve military applications,civilian domains,and disaster recovery *** is assumed that the nodes present in the routing protocols of MANETs are cooperative and *** assumption makes MANET more prone to manipulation and interception,which generates several possibilities of different suspicious attacks,such as Denial of Service(DoS)***,security is considered as an important parameter as the network is fond of suspicious *** paper addresses the security issues by proposing an optimization algorithm,named Jaya Cuckoo Search(JCS)algorithm,which is the combination of Jaya algorithm and Cuckoo Search(CS)algorithm for initiating secure route among the MANET nodes so that the path attained is feasible and *** proposed JCS algorithm uses a fitness function,which considers a multiobjective function using parameters,such as distance,link lifetime,delay,energy,trust,along with the reputation factor to select a secured *** JCS algorithm shows maximum performance with energy,throughput,and PDR values as 27.826 J,0.554,and 0.628,respectively.

Sediment transport can be modelled using hydrodynamic models based on shallow water equations coupled with the sediment concentration conservation equation and the bed con-servation *** complete system of equations is made up of the energy balance law and the Exner *** numerical solution for this complete system is done in a seg-regated ***,the hyperbolic part of the system of balance laws is solved using a finite volume *** ways to compute the numerical flux have been considered,the Q-scheme of van Leer,the HLLCS approximate Riemann solver,and the last one takes into account the presence of non-conservative products in the *** discretisation of the source terms is carried out according to the numerical flux *** the second stage,the bed conservation equation is solved by using the approximation computed for the system of balance *** numerical schemes have been validated making comparisons between the obtained numerical results and the experimental data for some physical *** numerical results show a good agreement with the experimental data.
