Cardiovascular disease(CVD)has become one of the commonest causes of comorbidity and mortality among People living with human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)(PlWH)on antiretroviral therapy(ART).Nearly 50%of PlWH are likely to have an increased risk of developing CVD,including coronary heart disease,cerebrovascular disease,peripheral artery disease and aortic *** from the common risk factors,HIV infection itself and side effects of antiretroviral therapy contribute to the pathophysiology of this *** non-pharmacological therapies are currently being tested worldwide for this purpose,including eating patterns such as Intermittent fasting(IF).IF is a widespread practice gaining high level of interest in the scientific community due to its potential benefits such as improvement in serum lipids and lipoproteins,blood pressure(BP),platelet-derived growth factor AB,systemic inflammation,and carotid artery intima-media thickness among others cardiovascular *** review will focus on exploring the potential role of intermittent fasting as a non-pharmacological and cost-effective strategy in decreasing the burden of cardiovascular diseases among HIV patients on ART due to its intrinsic properties improving the main cardiovascular risk factors and modulating inflammatory pathways related to endothelial dysfunction,lipid peroxidation and *** fasting regimens need to be tested in clinical trials as an important,cost-effective,and revolutionary coadjutant of ART in the fight against the increased prevalence of cardiovascular disease in PlWH.

Arsenic Speciation Analysis by Ion Chromatography - A Critical Review of Principles and Applications

Multiple acute and chronic toxicity of arsenic species and its mobilisation from geological deposits into ground and drinking water resources is one of the greatest threats to human health. Arsenic speciation analy-sis, mostly done by liquid chromatography, is a challenging task which requires an intense high quality work with respect to extraction, preservation, separation, detection and validation. A growing number of As-spe-cies and low regulatory limits (10 μg/l) may require more than one speciation method preferably performed by species specific procedures and detectors. Beside As-fractionation for special application there are many selective speciation methods based on high performance separation techniques like capillary electrophoreses, gas and liquid chromatography. Both, fractionation and speciation methods are reviewed. However, the focus is on scopes and limits of ion chromatographic separations, the most frequently used methods. Based on IC-principles the methods applied are critically discussed and recommendations given which should result in more robust and reliable As-speciation.

A key challenge in bioelectronics is to establish and improve the interface between electronic devices and living tissues,enabling a direct assessment of biological *** integrated with plant tissue can provide valuable information about the plant itself as well as the surrounding environment,including air and soil *** obstacle in developing interfaces to plant tissue is mitigating the formation of fibrotic tissues,which can hinder continuous and accurate sensor operation over extended *** systems that utilize suitable biocompatible materials alongside appropriate fabrication techniques to establish plantelectronic interfaces could provide for enhanced environmental understanding and ecosystem management *** meet these demands,this study introduces an approach for integrating printed electronic materials with biocompatible cryogels,resulting in stable implantable hydrogel-based bioelectronic devices capable of long-term operation within plant *** inkjet-printed cryogels can be customized to provide various electronic functionalities,including electrodes and organic electrochemical transistors(OECTs),that exhibit high electrical conductivity for embedded conducting polymer traces(up to 350 S/cm),transconductance for OECTs in the mS range,a capacitance of up to 4.2mF g−1 in suitable structures,high stretchability(up to 330%strain),and selfhealing *** biocompatible functionalized cryogel-based electrodes and transistors were successfully implanted in plant tissue,and ionic activity in tomato plant stems was collected for over two months with minimal scar tissue formation,making these cryogel-based printed electronic devices excellent candidates for continuous,in-situ monitoring of plant and environmental status and health.

The success of catalytic schemes for the large-scale valorization of CO_(2) does not only depend on the development of active,selective and stable catalytic materials but also on the overall process *** we present a multidisciplinary study(from catalyst to plant and techno-economic/lifecycle analysis)for the production of green methanol from renewable H2 and CO_(2).We combine an in-depth kinetic analysis of one of the most promising recently reported methanol-synthesis catalysts(InCo)with a thorough process simulation and techno-economic *** then perform a life cycle assessment of the simulated process to gauge the real environmental impact of green methanol production from CO_(2).Our results indicate that up to 1.75 ton of CO_(2) can be abated per ton of produced methanol only if renewable energy is used to run the process,while the sensitivity analysis suggest that either rock-bottom H2 prices(1.5$kg1)or severe CO_(2) taxation(300$per ton)are needed for a profitable methanol ***,we herein highlight and analyze some critical bottlenecks of the *** attention has been paid to the contribution of H2 to the overall plant costs,CH4 trace formation,and purity and costs of raw *** addition to providing important information for policy makers and industrialists,directions for catalyst(and therefore process)improvements are outlined.

统计式学习是人类单词学习中的普遍现象。本文通过汉字注音任务考察形声字声符累计频率对外国留学生字音成绩的影响,结果发现:(1)声符累计频率效应显著;(2)声符累计频率的读音特性调节着形声字读音一致性效应的表现,目标字的声符累计频率读音友性强时(规则读音累计>不规则读音累计),读音不一致未出现干扰作用;累计频率读音敌性强时(规则读音累计<不规则读音累计),出现经典的读音不一致劣势效应;(3)声符累计频率影响的深度和持续性受目标字频率以及学习者因素的调节,表现为在低频字中影响更大、持续时间更长,成绩较好的被试更早从规则累计读音中获益。文章还讨论了上述结果在教学中的应用。

The objective to this work was to evaluate the enzymatic activity in the culture of Solanum lycopersicum *** with Fusarium oxysporum after the combined application of Beauveria bassiana and plant *** lycopersicum plantlets were transplanted 15 days after the *** days after transplanting,Beauveria bassiana spores were applied at a concentration of 1×10^(7)spores ml^(−1)onto soil(along with ***(N)and ***(H)leaf extracts)where *** plants were *** days after transplanting,spores of *** strain were applied at a concentration of 1×10^(6)spores ml^(−1)to soil where *** plants were *** development of *** plants was monitored for 114 days,whereby a randomized complete block treatment design was used,the roots of the plants were crushed with liquid nitrogen,after which UV/VIS spectrophotometry was used to determine protein concentration,as well as the activity ofβ-1,3-glucanases,peroxidases(POX,EC1.***.1.7),catalase and *** treatments combining *** and *** and *** extracts,had a significant difference in enzymatic activity levels,thus contributing to better defense mechanisms and a greater protection to *** plants in the presence of *** application of *** and plant extracts to the ground mitigated damage caused by *** on *** plants.

Wheat grain quality characteristics have experienced increasing attention as a central factor affecting wheat end-use products quality and human ***,in the last decades a reduction in grain quality has been ***,it is central to develop efficient quality-related phenotyping *** this sense,one of the most relevant wheat features related to grain quality traits is grain nitrogen content,which is directly linked to grain protein content and monitorable with remote sensing ***,the relation between nitrogen fertilization and grain nitrogen content(protein)plays a central role in the sustainability of *** aiming to develop efficient phenotyping tools using remote sensing instruments and to advance towards a field-level efficient and sustainable monitoring of grain nitrogen status,this paper studies the efficacy of various sensors,multispectral and visible red-greenblue(RGB),at different scales,ground and unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV),and phenological stages(anthesis and grain filling)to estimate grain nitrogen *** models were calculated using vegetation indices at each sensing level,sensor type and phenological ***,this study explores the up-scalability of the best performing model to satellite level Sentinel-2 equivalent *** found that models built at the phenological stage of anthesis with UAV-level multispectral cameras using red-edge bands outperformed grain nitrogen content estimation(R2=0.42,RMSE=0.18%)in comparison with those models built with RGB imagery at ground and aerial level,as well as with those built with widely used ground-level multispectral *** also demonstrated the possibility to use UAV-built multispectral linear models at the satellite scale to determine grain nitrogen content effectively(R2=0.40,RMSE=0.29%)at actual wheat fields.
