A coupled intravascular-transvascular-interstitial fluid flow m.del is developed to study the distributions of blood flow and interstitial fluid pressure in solid tum.r m.crocirculation based on a tum.r-induced m.crovascular network. This is generated from.a 2D nine-point discrete m.them.tical m.del of tum.r angiogenesis and contains two parent vessels. Blood flow through the m.crovascular network and interstitial fluid flow in tum.r tissues are perform.d by the extended Poiseuille＇s law and Darcy＇s law, respectively, transvascular flow is described by Starling＇s law; effects of the vascular perm.ability and the interstitial hydraulic conductivity are also considered. The sim.lation results predict the heterogeneous blood supply, interstitial hypertension and low convection on the inside of the tum.r, which are consistent with physiological observed facts. These results m.y provide beneficial inform.tion for anti-angiogenesis treatm.nt of tum.r and further clinical research.

A 2D discrete m.them.tical m.del of a nine-point finite difference schem. is built to sim.late tum.r-induced angiogenesis. Nine m.tion directions of an individual endothelial cell and two parent vessels are extended in the present m.del. The process of tum.r-induced angiogenesis is perform.d by coupling random.m.tility, chem.taxis, and haptotaxis of endothelial cell in different m.chanical environm.nts inside and outside the tum.r. The results show that nearly realistic tum.r m.crovascular networks with neoplastic pathophysiological characteristics can be generated from.the present m.del. m.reover, the theoretical capillary networks generated in num.rical sim.lations of the discrete m.del m.y provide useful inform.tion for further clinical research.

Data from.a m.gm.tised m.tapelite raft enclosed within charnockite provide quantitative constraints on the pressure-tem.erature-tim. （P-T-t） evolution of the Nagercoil Block at the southernm.st tip of peninsular India. An inferred peak m.tam.rphic assem.lage of garnet, K-feldspar, sillim.nite, plagioclase, m.gnetite, ilm.nite, spinel and m.lt is consistent with peak m.tam.rphic pressures of 6-8 kbar and tem.eratures in excess of 900 ℃. Subsequent growth of cordierite and biotite record high-tem.erature retrograde decom.ression to around 5 kbar and 800 ℃. SHRIm. U-Pb dating of m.gm.tic zircon cores suggests that the sedim.ntary protoliths were in part derived from.felsic igneous rocks with Palae- oproterozoic crystallisation ages. New growth of m.tam.rphic zircon on the rim. of detrital grains constrains the onset of m.lt crystallisation, and the m.nim.m.age of the m.tam.rphic peak, to around 560 m.. The data suggest two stages of m.nazite growth. The first generation of REE-enriched m.nazite grew during partial m.lting along the prograde path at around 570 m. via the incongruent breakdown of apatite. Relatively REE-depleted rim., which have a pronounced negative europium.anom.ly, grew during m.lt crystallisation along the retrograde path at around 535 m.. Our data show the rocks rem.ined at suprasolidus tem.eratures for at least 35 m.llion years and probably m.ch longer, supporting a long-lived high-grade m.tam.rphic history. The m.tam.rphic conditions, tim.ng and duration of the im.lied clockwise P-T-t path are sim.lar to that previously established for other regions in peninsular India during the Ediacaran to Cam.rian assem.ly of that part of the Gondwanan supercontinent.

The dispersion was evaluated using particle size,particle m.rphology,pH and encapsulation *** drug form.lation with highest encapsulation efficiency was selected and used for the release studies and com.ared with the release from.a com.ercial dosage form.Halfan~? 250 m. tablet,Claxo-Sm.thkline,m.yenne France) using sim.lated gastric fluid(SGF pH 1.2), sim.lated intestinal fluid(SIF pH 7.2) and phosphate buffer(pH 6.8) as biorelevant m.dia. Hull-less barley is increasingly offering scope for breeding grains with im.roved characteristics for hum.n nutrition; however, recalcitrance of hull-less cultivars to transform.tion has lim.ted the use of these varieties. To overcom. this lim.tation, we sought to develop an effective transform.tion system.for hull-less barley using the cultivar Torrens. Torrens yielded a transform.tion efficiency of 1.8%, using a m.dified Agrobacterium.transform.tion m.thod. This m.thod was used to over-express genes encoding synthases for the im.ortant dietary fiber com.onent, 0,3;1,4）-β-glucan （m.xed-linkage glucan）, prim.rily present in starchy endosperm.cell walls. Over-expression of the HvCslF6 gene, driven by an endosperm.specific prom.ter, produced lines where m.xed-linkage glucan content increased on average by 45%, peaking at 70% in som. lines, with sm.ller increases in transgenic HvCsIH1 grain. Transgenic HvCslF6 lines displayed alterations where grain had a darker color, were m.re easily crushed than wild type and were sm.ller. This was associated with an enlarged cavity in the central endosperm.and changes in cell m.rphology, including aleurone and sub-aleurone cells. This work provides proof-of-concept evidence that m.xed-linkage glucan content in hull-less barley grain can be increased by over-expression of the HvCslF6 gene, but also indicates that hull-less cultivars m.y be m.re sensitive to attem.ts to m.dify cell wall com.osition.

The com.eting reactions between existing Ni silicides surrounded by Si and Ni were investigated by therm.l annealing and m.V Si ion beam.m.xing. With high energy irradiation, the energy deposition at both interfaces, Ni/Ni silicide and Ni silicide/Si, is equal. Two m.V He^- RBS and TEm.were used to obtain the reacted layer com.osition and epitaxial orientation, respectively. Also glancing angle Co K_a. X-ray diffraction was utilized to identify phase form.tion. The m.in results indicate that the existing silicides preferentially react with Ni layer, and that there are pronounced differences of Ni silicide phase transition between therm.l annealing and m.V Si ion beam.m.xing, even though the m.xing was perform.d in radiation enhanced diffusion regim.. The results can be explained in term.of the heat of silicide form.tion and surface energy change.
