Milk epithelial mucin (MUC1) of yaks was separated by SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. A total of nine types of MUC1 were revealed in 427 yaks from five yak breeds including Maiwa yak, Jiulong yak, Tianzhu white yak, Qinghai yak and Tibetan yak. The molecular weights of MUC1 are from 163 kD to 208 kD, most of which are larger than those of bovine. Population genetic analysis shows that the gene frequency and genotype frequency of yak MUC1 differ among breeds, with relatively high gene heterozygosity. The five yak breeds studied fall into two groups according to their milk MUC1 gene frequency, suggesting that milk MUC1 exhibits specificities for local yak groups.

Based on a large number of research papers,this roundup was described from three aspects:(1) The general situation of studies on close hybridization of fish in China,emphatically introduced 15 kinds of hybrids,varieties and strains obtained by close hybridization,including Feng carp,He-yuan carp,Yue carp,tri-crossed carp,Furong carp,Jian carp,cold-resistant strain in purse red carp,Songpu carp,Xing-de carp,red mirror carp,blue scale carp and New GIFT tilapia,etc.;(2) The application of fish close hybridization in aquaculture,for example the utilization of heterosis,induction of triploid,resistance breeding (cold-resistant,disease-resistant),breeding of new varieties,variety rejuvenation,rescue of rare varieties,and improvement of fish meat materials,etc.;(3) Some problems on close hybridization of fish,that is,correct idea on hybridization,selection and pairs of parent,parental purity and heterosis,application of back cross and multiple *** is strictly prohibited for the hybrid to propagate offspring.

Native polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis showed that two types of lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) existed in yaks. Based on the electrophoresis characteristics of LDH isoenzymes, yak LDH variants were speculated to be the gene mutation on H subunit encoded by B gene. According to the mobility in electrophoresis, the fast-band LDH type was named LDH-Hf and the slow-band LDH type LDH-Hs. In order to reveal the gene alteration in yak LDH variants, total RNA was extracted from heart tissues of yaks with different LDH variants, and cDNAs of the two variants were reverse transcripted. Two variants of B genes were cloned by RT-PCR. Sequence analysis revealed that four nucleotides differed between LDH-Bf and LDH-Bs, which resulted in two amino acids alteration. By Deepview software analysis of the conformation of yak LDH1 variants and H subunit, these four nucleotides altered two amino acids that generated new hydrogen bonds to change the hydrogen bonds network, and further caused subtle conformational changes between the two LDH variants.

The hydroxyl radical(OH)-scavenging ability of culture filtrates from submerged culture of Lentinula edodes AX3 and five mildews on lignocellulose substance was analysised. Only L edodes AX3 exhibited significant 昈H-scavenging ability which reached 52.2% at about the 48th hour. All mildews could hardly scavenge OH under the experiment conditions. The OH-scavenging ability is considered related to the mode and ability of lignocellulose degradation of a strain.
