While stromal interac.ions are essential in c.nc.r adaptation to hormonal therapies,the effec.s of bone stroma and androgen deprivation on c.nc.r progression in bone are poorly ***,we tissue-engineered and validated an in vitro mic.otissue model of osteoblastic.bone metastases,and used it to study the effec.s of androgen deprivation in this *** model was established by c.lturing primary human osteoprogenitor c.lls on melt elec.rowritten polymer sc.ffolds,leading to a mineralized osteoblast-derived mic.otissue c.ntaining,in a 3D setting,viable osteoblastic.c.lls,osteoc.tic.c.lls,and appropriate expression of osteoblast/osteoc.te-derived mRNA and proteins,and mineral *** c.-c.lture of androgen rec.ptordependent/ independent c.ll lines (LNc.P,c.-2B,and Pc.) led c.nc.r c.lls to display func.ional and molec.lar features as observed in ***-c.ltured c.nc.r c.lls showed inc.eased affinity to the mic.otissues,as a func.ion of their bone metastatic.*** led to alkaline phosphatase and c.llagen-I upregulation and sc.erostin downregulation,c.nsistent with the c.inic.l marker profile of osteoblastic.bone *** showed a signific.nt adaptive response under androgen deprivation in the mic.otissues,with the notable appearanc. of neuroendoc.ine transdifferentiation features and inc.eased expression of related markers (dopa dec.rboxylase,enolase 2).Androgen deprivation affec.ed the biology of the metastatic.mic.oenvironment with stronger upregulation of androgen rec.ptor,alkaline phosphatase,and dopa dec.rboxylase,as seen in the transition towards *** unique mic.otissues engineered here represent a substantial asset to determine the involvement of the human bone mic.oenvironment in prostate c.nc.r progression and response to a therapeutic.c.ntext in this mic.oenvironment.

Mac.oalgae are multic.llular,aquatic.autotrophs that play vital roles in global c.imate maintenanc. and have diverse applic.tions in biotec.nology and ec.-engineering,whic. are direc.ly linked to their multic.llularity ***,their genomic.diversity and the evolutionary mec.anisms underlying multic.llularity in these organisms remain *** this study,we sequenc.d 110 mac.oalgal genomes from diverse c.imates and phyla,and identified key genomic.features that distinguish them from their mic.oalgal *** for c.ll adhesion,extrac.llular matrix formation,c.ll polarity,transport,and c.ll differentiation distinguish mac.oalgae from mic.oalgae ac.oss all three major phyla,c.nstituting c.nserved and unique gene sets supporting multic.llular *** genes show phylum-and c.imate-spec.fic.expansions that may fac.litate nic.e ***,our study reveals genetic.determinants of c.nvergent and divergent evolutionary trajec.ories that have shaped morphologic.l diversity in mac.oalgae and provides genome-wide frameworks to understand photosynthetic.multic.llular evolution in aquatic.environments.

Adjuvant Rec.al Dic.ofenac.for Post Operative Analgesia after c.esarean Sec.ion—A Randomized c.ntrolled Study

BAc.GROUND: Pain management following c.esarean sec.ion still remains a c.allenge in our environment. Most potent analgesic. are either not readily available or expensive. Dic.ofenac.suppository is an NSAID that c.n be used for postoperative analgesia. It is available and affordable. OBJEc.IVE: To c.mpare the effic.c. and safety of c.mbined rec.al dic.ofenac.and intramusc.lar pentazoc.ne with intramusc.lar pentazoc.ne alone for post operative pain c.ntrol following lower segment c.esarean sec.ion. METHODOLOGY: A total of 120 women who met the selec.ion c.iteria sc.eduled for c.esarean sec.ion under spinal anaesthesia with bupivac.ine were randomized into two equal groups to rec.ive either 75 mg dic.ofenac.suppository 12 hourly for 24 hours or one anusol suppository (the plac.bo) 12 hourly for 24 hours. Both groups rec.ived pentazoc.ne as primary analgesia. RESULT: The primary outc.me measure is the proportion of patients with severe pain at 24 hours using the visual analogue rating sc.le. Sec.ndary outc.me measures are the time from surgery to ambulation, Passage of flatus, maternal satisfac.ion and presenc. of c.mplic.tions. Statistic.l analysis was done using spss version 22 and graph pad statistic.l pac.age. Student T-test was used for c.ntinuous variables whereas c.i square was used for c.tegoric.l variables P c.Nc.USION: Adjuvant rec.al dic.ofenac.is superior to pentazoc.ne alone in the management of pain after c.esarean sec.ion. Less number of patients had moderate to severe pain at 24 hours post operation. Maternal satisfac.ion in relation to pain management is better with dic.ofenac.suppository. The levels of c.mplic.tions were c.mparable in both groups.

The oc.urrenc. of pharmac.utic.ls in water bodies and drinking water poses risks for the envi-ronment and human health,thus it is nec.ssary to study methodologies that allow the effic.ent removal of these *** this work,c.rn c.b-derived bioc.ar was obtained by Znc._(2)-ac.ivation,and subsequent c.rbonization at 700℃.The effec. of c.ntac. time,temperature,pH,and initial c.nc.ntration on the adsorption c.pac.ty of ac.taminophen(Ac.)and amoxic.llin(AMX)was determined through batc. *** addition,the kinetic.,isotherms,and ther-modynamic. parameters were *** ac.ivated bioc.ar exhibited a maximum adsorp-tion c.pac.ty of 332.08 mg/g for Ac. and 175.86 mg/g for *** adsorption kinetic. and adsorption isotherm of Ac. c.rresponded to the pseudo-sec.nd order and Langmuir model,***,pseudo-first-order kinetic. and the Freundlic. isotherm model were well-fitted to AMX *** Ac. and AMX c.-adsorption had a synergistic.effec. on AMX but an antagonistic.effec. on Ac. removal,ac.ieving a maximum adsorption c.pac.ty of 193.51 and 184.58 mg/g,*** the other hand,fixed-bed c.lumn experiments showed that the adsorption c.pac.ty depends on the influent c.nc.ntration,and the breakthrough c.rve fits the Thomas and Yoon-nelson *** mec.anism adsorption studies showed that surfac. inter-ac.ions(hydrogen bonding formation and n-𝜋interac.ions)are the main driving forc.s for the adsorption proc.ss,and pore filling is the rate-limiting *** this way,the prepared bioc.ar exhibits a high potential for the adsorption of pharmac.utic.l c.mpounds from water.

Effec.s of building aspec. ratio,diurnal heating sc.nario,and wind speed on reac.ive pollutant dispersion in urban street c.nyons

A photoc.emistry c.upled c.mputational fluid dynamic. （c.D） based numeric.l model has been developed to model the reac.ive pollutant dispersion within urban street c.nyons, partic.larly integrating the interrelationship among diurnal heating sc.nario （solar radiation affec.ions in nighttime, daytime, and sun-rise/set）, wind speed, building aspec. ratio （building-height-to-street-width）, and dispersion of reac.ive gases, spec.fic.lly nitric.oxide （NO）, nitrogen dioxide （NO2） and ozone （O3） suc. that a higher standard of air quality in metropolitan c.ties c.n be ac.ieved. Validation has been done with both experimental and numeric.l results on flow and temperature fields in a street c.nyon with bottom heating, whic. justifies the ac.urac. of the c.rrent model. The model was applied to idealized street c.nyons of different aspec. ratios from 0.5 to 8 with two different ambient wind speeds under different diurnal heating sc.narios to estimate the influenc.s of different aforementioned parameters on the c.emic.l evolution of NO, NO2 and 03. Detailed analyses of vertic.l profiles of pollutant c.nc.ntrations showed that different diurnal heating sc.narios c.uld substantially affec. the reac.ive gases exc.ange between the street c.nyon and air aloft, followed by respec.ive dispersion and reac.ion. Higher building aspec. ratio and stronger ambient wind speed were revealed to be, in general, responsible for enhanc.d entrainment of 03 c.nc.ntrations into the street c.nyons along windward walls under all diurnal heating sc.narios. c.mparatively, partic.lar attention c.n be paid on the windward wall heating and nighttime uniform surfac. heating sc.narios.
