It is likely that the majority of proteins will undergo post-translational modification, be it enzymatic or non-enzymatic. these modified protein(s) regulate activity, localization and interaction with other cellular molecules thereby maintaining cellular hemostasis. Alcohol exposure significantly alters several of these post-translational modifications leading to impairments of many essential physiological processes. Here, we present new insights into novel modifications following ethanol exposure and their role in the initiation and progression of liver injury. this critical review condenses the proceedings of a symposium at the European Society for the Biomedical Research on Alcoholism Meeting held September 12-15, 2015, in Valencia, Spain.

AIM: to assess the clinical features of hepatoduodenal lymph node(HDLN) metastasis and to clarify the optimal indication of HDLN ***: We investigated a total of 276 patients who underwent gastrectomy with extended lymphadenectomy,including HDLN dissection,for gastric cancer between 1999 and 2012. Of these,26 patients(9.4%) had HDLN metastasis. First,we investigated the clinicopathological characteristics,their perioperative clinical outcomes,such as postoperative complications,and prognostic outcomes between patients with and without HDLN metastasis. Second,we detected the prognostic factors,particularly in patients with HDLN metastasis. third,we assessed the therapeutic value of HDLN dissection to determine its optimal ***: the five-year overall survival rate of the patients with HDLN metastasis was 29%. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses revealed that the tumour location(the middle or lower stomach [P = 0.005,OR = 5.88(95%CI: 1.61-38.1)] and p t category [t3 or t4,P = 0.017,OR = 4.45(95%CI: 1.28-21.3)] were independent risk factors for HDLNmetastasis. Cox proportional hazard analysis identified p N3 as an independent poor prognostic factor in the patients with HDLN metastasis [P = 0.021,HR = 5.17(95%CI: 1.8-292)]. For patients who underwent radical HDLN dissection,HDLN metastasis was a prognostic indicator in p N3 gastric cancer(P t not p N1-2(P = 0.602). Furthermore,the index of therapeutic value of HDLN dissection for gastric cancer in the middle or lower stomach and the upper stomach was 3.4 and 0.0,***: We suggest that HDLN dissection should be indicated for p N1 or p N2 gastric cancers located at the middle or lower stomach.

A 59-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital because of recurrent follicular lymphoma(FL).Colonoscopic examination revealed a rectal submucosal tumor(SMt)without any erosions and *** this patient,it was difficult to distinguish non-Hodgkin's lymphoma(NHL)invasion from other disorders of the colon including carcinoid tumor merely based on endoscopic *** and immunohistochemical studies on biopsy specimens showed an infiltration of atypical lymphocytes that were positive for CD20 and BCL2 but negative for *** in situ hybridization on paraffin-embedded tissue sections (t-FISH)identified a translocation of BCL2 with IGHgene. Based on these findings,the tumor was defined as an invasion of FL.t-FISH method is useful for the detection of a monoclonality of atypical lymphocytes in an SMt of the gastrointestinal tract,and particularly for the detection of chromosomal translocations specific to lymphoma subtypes.

Gluteal compartment syndrome(GCS) is a rare condition. We present a case of gluteal muscle strain with hematoma formation, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA) superinfection, leading to acute GCS, rhabdomyolysis and acute kidney injury. this combination of diagnoses has not been reported in the literature. A 36-year-old Caucasian male presented with buttock pain, swelling and fever after lifting weights. Gluteal compartment pressure was markedly elevated compared with the contralateral side. Investigations revealed elevated white blood cell, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, C-reactive protein, creatine kinase, creatinine and lactic acid. Urinalysis was consistent with myoglobinuria. Magnetic resonance imaging showed increased t2 signal in the gluteus maximus and a central hematoma. Cultures taken from the emergency debridement and fasciotomy revealed MRSA. He had repeat, debridement 2 d later, and delayed primary closure 3 d after. GCS is rare and must be suspected when patients present with pain and swelling after an inciting event. they are easily diagnosed with compartment pressure monitoring. the treatment of gluteal abscess and compartment syndrome is the same and involves rapid surgical debridement.

传统三大件转向架没有一系悬挂,货车运行中,短波轨道不平顺作用下轮轨中低频响应对于货车的影响较为明显。部分重载货车采用橡胶垫作为一系悬挂,降低运行时轮轨相互作用对于货车动力学性能的影响。本文以一种澳大利亚铁路重载货物运输中大量采用的30t轴重三大件转向架货车作为研究对象,参考澳大利亚铁路行业安全标准,采用多体动力学仿真分析方法,建立货车完整动力学模型,比较分析四种一系悬挂下,货车在不同线路、不同速度、不同轮轨接触条件下的磨耗指数、脱轨系数与P2力,据此分析橡胶垫垂向刚度对于货车动力学性能的影响。研究结果表明:一系橡胶垫可以有效降低干燥轮轨接触状态下货车车轮的磨耗指数与P2力,但会造成轮轨润滑状态下货车车轮的磨耗指数与P2力的增大,一系橡胶垫对于货车脱轨系数影响并不明显。

the contrast agent concentration, the time of repetition (tR) and magnetic field strength are significant parameters that influence for the accurate signal intensity (SI) in quantitative Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). therefore, this study was conducted to investigate and refine the dependence and the optimal effect of time of Repetition (tR) on the relationship between signal intensity and Gd-DtPA (Gadolinium-diethylene-triaminepenta-acetic acid) concentration, after applying two-dimensional (2D) Spin Echo (SE) pulse sequence under low-field MRI. In addition to that, the optimal concentration of Gd-DtPA at given sequence parameters at low-field MRI was also evaluated. A water-filled phantom was constructed for a range of Gd-DtPA concentrations (0 - 6 mmol/L) and the mean signal intensities (SIs) were assessed in the defined region of interest on t1-weighted images with different tR values (40 - 2000 ms). the generated signal-concentration curves for Gd-DtPA revealed that increasing tR was associated with the increase of the overall SIs and the maximum relationship between SI to concentration. Moreover, the required Gd-DtPA concentration to produce the maximum SI was associated to decrease with the increase of tR. In addition to this, the application of beyond 100 ms tR values in this study with relatively higher concentrations (beyond 1 - 2 mmol/L) has resulted predominantly non-linear patterns in the signal-concentration curves and it appears the saturation or decay of the SIs due to t2 effect. From these results, it can be suggested that the selection of relatively lower Gd-DtPA concentration ( mmol/L) with less than 800 ms (tR values can produce a better linear relationship between the concertation and SIs in t1-weighted SE low field contrast-enhanced MRI. Furthermore, this study also outlined the significance and necessity of the optimization of tR in SE sequence in low field MRI prior to a particular examination.

Background tDP-43 proteinopathies represent a spectrum of neurological disorders,anchored clinically on either end by amyotrophic lateral sclerosis(ALS)and frontotemporal degeneration(FtD).the ALS-FtD spectrum exhibits a diverse range of clinical presentations with overlapping phenotypes,highlighting its *** study was aimed to use disease progression modeling to identify novel data-driven spatial and temporal subtypes of brain atrophy and its progression in the ALS-FtD *** We used a data-driven procedure to identify 13 anatomic clusters of brain volume for 57 behavioral variant FtD(bvFtD;with either autopsy-confirmed tDP-43 or tDP-43 proteinopathy-associated genetic variants),103 ALS,and 47 ALS-FtD patients with likely tDP-43.A Subtype and Stage Inference(SuStaIn)model was trained to identify subtypes of individuals along the ALS-FtD spectrum with distinct brain atrophy patterns,and we related subtypes and stages to clinical,genetic,and neuropathological features of *** SuStaIn identified three novel subtypes:two disease subtypes with predominant brain atrophy in either prefrontal/somatomotor regions or limbic-related regions,and a normal-appearing group without obvious brain *** limbic-predominant subtype tended to present with more impaired cognition,higher frequencies of pathogenic variants in tBK1 and tARDBP genes,and a higher proportion of tDP-43 types B,E and *** contrast,the prefrontal/somatomotor-predominant subtype had higher frequencies of pathogenic variants in C9orf72 and GRN genes and higher proportion of tDP-43 type *** normal-appearing brain group showed higher frequency of ALS relative to ALS-FtD and bvFtD patients,higher cognitive capacity,higher proportion of lower motor neuron onset,milder motor symptoms,and lower frequencies of genetic pathogenic *** overall SuStaIn stages also correlated with evidence for clinical progression including longer disease duration,higher King’s stage,and cog
