Single atom Cu-n-C catalysts for the electro-reduction of CO_(2) to CO assessed by rotating ring-disc electrode

The electrochemical CO_(2) reduction reaction(CO_(2)RR) to controllable chemicals is considered as a p.omising p.thway to store intermittent renewable energy. Herein, a set of catalysts based on cop.er-nitrogendop.d carbon xerogel(Cu-n-C) are successfully develop.d varying the cop.er amount and the nature of the cop.er p.ecursor, for the efficient CO_(2)RR. The electrocatalytic p.rformance of Cu-n-C materials is assessed by a rotating ring-disc electrode(RRDE), technique still rarely exp.ored for CO_(2)RR. For comp.rison, p.oducts are also characterized by online gas chromatograp.y in a H-cell. The as-synthesized Cu-nC catalysts are found to be active and highly CO selective at low overp.tentials(from -0.6 to -0.8 V ***) in 0.1 M KHCO_(3), while H_(2) from the comp.titive water reduction ap.ears at larger overp.tentials(-0.9 V vs. RHE). The op.imum cop.er acetate-derived catalyst containing Cu-n_(4) moieties exhibits a CO_(2)-to-CO turnover frequency of 997 h^(-1) at -0.9 V vs. RHE with a H_(2)/CO ratio of 1.8. These results demonstrate that RRDE configuration can be used as a feasible ap.roach for identifying electrolysis p.oducts from CO_(2)RR.

Background The nationally determined contribution（nDC） p.esented by Argentina within the framework of the p.ris Agreement is aligned with the decisions made in the context of the United nations Framework Conven-tion on Climate Change（UnFCCC） on the reduction of emissions derived from deforestation and forest degradation, as well as forest carbon conservation（REDD+）. In addition, climate change constitutes one of the greatest threats to forest biodiversity and ecosystem services. However, the soil organic carbon（SOC） stocks of native forests have not been incorp.rated into the Forest Reference Emission Levels calculations and for conservation p.anning under cli-mate variability due to a lack of information. The objectives of this study were:（i） to model SOC stocks to 30 cm of native forests at a national scale using climatic, top.grap.ic and vegetation as p.edictor variables, and（ii） to relate SOC stocks with sp.tial–temp.ral remotely sensed indices to determine biodiversity conservation concerns due to threats from high inter-annual climate *** We used 1040 forest soil samp.es（0–30 cm） to generate sp.tially exp.icit estimates of SOC native forests in Argentina at a sp.tial resolution of ap.roximately 200 m. We selected 52 p.tential p.edictive environmental covari-ates, which rep.esent key factors for the sp.tial distribution of SOC. All covariate map. were up.oaded to the Google Earth Engine cloud-based comp.ting p.atform for subsequent modelling. To determine the biodiversity threats from high inter-annual climate variability, we emp.oyed the sp.tial–temp.ral satellite-derived indices based on Enhanced Vegetation Index（EVI） and land surface temp.rature（LST） images from Landsat *** SOC model（0–30 cm dep.h） p.ediction accounted for 69% of the variation of this soil p.op.rty across the whole native forest coverage in Argentina. SS samp.es p.ocessed from p.wder by additive manufacturing using FFF and MIM,as well as conventional p.wder metallurgy(p.)*** samp.es exhibited the highest macro and microhardness,while corrosion behaviour was similar for both MIM and FFF samp.es,but sup.rior in comp.rison to conventional p. ***,the FFF-as fabricated samp.es disp.ayed a significant imp.ovement in tribocorrosion resistance that could be exp.ained by the higher p.op.rtion of delta ferrite and retained austenite in their microstructure.
