A review of multi-chamber oscillating water column(OWC)d.vice d.signs is *** significant variations of these d.vices are d.scussed.onshore OWC(OOWC)and.a floating OWC(FOWC).The efficiency results of several theoretical stud.es based.on low-and.high-fid.lity numerical mod.ls are presented.and.compared.with the mod.l scale ***,low-fid.lity numerical mod.ls are very fast to run,but their accuracy is limited.compared.with high-fid.lity numerical *** mod.l experiments usually give results much more accurate than numerical mod.ls,but they need.ad.quate facilities and.are very *** the case of the OOWC,all mod.ls show a similar trend.of total efficiency,but while the analytical mod.l shows a maximum value of around.90%efficiency,the CFd.mod.l shows 60%,and.the experiments only go up to 40%.The main reason is connected.with the mathematical simplifications and.assumptions that d. not represent all the hyd.od.namic and.aerod.namic processes between the water,air,and.*** the case of the FOWC,interestingly,the experimental results show a maximum efficiency of almost 100%,while the analytical mod.l only pred.cts a maximum of 80%.The efficiency seems highly d.pend.nt on the heave motion resonance of the entire d.vice,where the analytical mod.l fails to pred.ct this natural frequency.

This stud. aims to apply a method.logy to analyze the regulatory obstacles for the d.velopment of thermal power plants in a country. The stud. uses Brazil as an application case, although mostly of the find.ngs can be useful to other countries. It also d.scusses other policies and.actions by the government that may contribute to the growth of natural gas-fired.power plants. Using d.d.ctive and.comparative research method., the first part of this method.focuses on the stage of thermoelectric power generation in Brazil. The subsequent sections present the role of the integration of gas and.electricity sectors, the main obstacles to the expansion of natural-gas power generation, how the country has d.al with the expansion of natural-gas power generation, as well as how other obstacles has been faced. In raising the research question, when comparing the research results of selected.countries, it should.be noticed.the impact that the experience and.lessons elsewhere have had.on policies formulation on Brazil. Our conclusions pointed.out that ad.quate policies for the natural gas-electricity Brazilian market integration make ad.isable the unification of electricity and.natural gas agencies. We recommend.d.d.veloping a mathematical mod.l to support d.cision-making on natural gas and.electricity integration.

Background. To investigate the effects of the association of semi-ablative fractional rad.ofrequency (RFF) with growth factors in stretch marks. Method.: This is a rand.mized.controlled.trial. The sample consisted.of 28 female patients with complaints of gluteus or abd.men striae and.d.vid.d.into 2 equitable groups, named.G1 (semi-ablative RFF without active principle association) and.G2 (semi-ablative RFF with active principle association), being subd.vid.d.into G-1A and.G-2A (abd.minal applications) and.G-1B and.G-2B (gluteus applications). A photographic and.histological analysis was performed.using questionnaires about inflammation, presence of ad.erse effects and.satisfaction of volunteers. Photographic analysis showed.a red.ction in the amount of striae alba in all groups. Results: The histological analysis showed.an increase in fibroblast activity, collagen type I, and.blood.vessels, especially in the groups that associated.the RFF with the active principle. In the inflammation analysis, the groups that performed.intervention with active ingred.ents showed.lower inflammatory signal. All groups had.a reasonable level of satisfaction after the interventions;however, the group that used.active ingred.ents reported.greater results. Conclusion: The association of semi ablative RFF with growth factors showed.a red.ction in clinical inflammatory signs, mainly in the first 15 d.ys, as well as higher collagen prod.ction, verified.in 30 d.ys, with satisfactory clinical results in all groups.

Zika virus (ZIKV), a mosquito-borne flavivirus, has been associated.with benign infections for d.cad.s. However, it has become a public health concern d.e to its association with severe fetal and.neurological complications. Although many efforts have been mad. to control ZIKV infection, approved.vaccines or antiviral d.ugs are still lacking. Consequently, the d.velopment of new effective anti-ZIKV agents is urgently need.d. In this context, we investigated.the antiviral potential of pyrazolone d.rivatives against ZIKV replication using in silico and.in vitro method.. The four pyrazolone d.rivatives evaluated.(1a, 1b, 1c, and.1d. inhibited.over 50% of ZIKV replication with low cytotoxicity. Among them, compound.1b exhibited.the most potent activity (EC50 = 4.3 μM) and.the highest selectivity (SI = 342). Mechanism of action stud.es ind.cated.that these compound. act at early stages of virus replication, and.compound.1b can also d.rectly inactivate ZIKV particles. Molecular d.cking stud.es suggested.that these compound. can bind.to and.block the activity of ZIKV NS5 methyltransferase. Finally, pharmacokinetic and.toxicological pred.ctions have reinforced.the safety and.d.ug-like profiles of these d.rivatives. In conclusion, the pyrazolone scaffold.proved.to be valuable for anti-ZIKV d.ug d.velopment, and.the d.rivatives stud.ed.d.serve further investigation.
