Reconstitution of complex multi-tissue organs is one of the most impressive feats of biology and is observed across regeneration-competent vertebrate species,including teleost fish(e.g.,zebrafish),urodeles(e.g.,axolotls and newts),and some *** ability within these species ranges from muscle(including cardiac),skeletal structures,to complex systems such as the brain,spinal cord and parts of the eye which are all capable of structural and functional repair following injury(Tanaka and Ferretti,2009).In stark contrast,re-establishment of multi-tissue structures is very rarely observed following embryogenesis in regeneration-incompetent *** of digit tips is the most dramatic example of mammalian regeneration,but pales in comparison to other species in the animal ***,a complete recapitulation of complex organs or structures in mammals will remain out of reach for a considerable time;however,an improved understanding of regenerat i ve mechanisms would likely enhance the development of novel regenerative medicine *** we focus on the diversity and commonalities of stem cells,which could underlie complex tissue regeneration.

Effects of Tocols Rich Fraction Isolated from Rice Bran Oil Deodorizer Distillate on Plasma and Hepatic Lipid Concentrations in Rats

A great deal of attention has been focused on the potential health benefits of using rice bran oil because it is a rich source of bioactive compounds. Rice bran oil deodorizer distillate (RBODD) is a byproduct obtained from distillation of rice bran oil. Elevated plasma cholesterol level is one of the major risk factors for coronary heart disease. The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of tocols (tocopherols + tocotrienols) rich fraction isolated from RBODD on plasma and liver lipid concentrations in rats. male Sprague Dawley rats (6 weeks of age) were randomly assigned into three groups: normal fat control (NFC), high fat control (HFC) and high fat diet plus tocols rich fraction (RBODD). RBODD was administered daily for 3 weeks by oral gavage using 5% of Tween-80 as a vehicle. The rats in the control groups received 5% of Tween-80 alone in the same manner. Blood samples and livers were collected at the end of the feeding period. RBODD group had significantly lower plasma triglyceride levels compared to the HFC group (p ma total and lipoprotein cholesterol levels were found in RBODD compared with HFC. Compared to the rat fed HFC, hepatic free fatty acids were significantly reduced in the rats with the RBODD treatment (p m RBODD is associated with decreased plasma triglyceride and hepatic free fatty acids concentrations. Further study is needed to investigate the mechanism and optimal dose by which isomers of tocols lower triglyceride concentrations.

The occurrence of midnight Equatorial Plasma Bubbles(EPBs)during the June solstice period of the ascending phase of solar cycle 24,from 2010 to 2014,was studied using data from the 47 mHz Equatorial Atmosphere Radar(EAR)at Kototabang,*** analysis shows that the occurrence of midnight hour EPBs was at its maximum during the low solar activity year 2010 and monotonically decreased thereafter with increasing solar *** of the dependence of midnight hour EPB occurrence on solar activity were investigated using SAmI2 model simulation with a realistic input of E×B drift velocity data obtained from the cindi-IVm onboard the C/NOFS *** obtained from term-by-term analysis of the flux tube integrated linear growth rate of RT instability indicate that the formation of a high flux tube electron content height gradient(steep vertical gradient)region at higher altitudes,due to the elevated F layer,is the key factor enhancing the growth rate of RT instability during low solar activity June *** factors are discussed in light of the relatively weak westward zonal electric field in the presence of the equatorward neutral wind and north-to-south transequatorial wind around the midnight hours of low solar activity June *** discussed are the initial seeding of RT instability by mSTIDs and how the threshold height required for EPB development varies with solar activity.
