The present study aims to establish a reproducible large animal experimental unit using a minipig model to monitor cardiac function changes.A 90-min closed-chest bal-loon occlusion of the left anterior descending branch of the coronary artery was used to induce myocardial infarction in Pannon *** monitor the cardiac function,measurements were made by cardiac magnetic resonance imaging(cMRI),invasive pressure monitoring,and a Pulse index Continuous Cardiac Output(PiCCO)hemo-dynamic system at 0,72,and 720 h during the follow-up ***-diastolic and end-systolic volumes(EDV,ESV),left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF)obtained by cMRI evaluation,global ejection fraction and aortic dP/dt_(max)obtained by the invasive method,were recorded and *** 72-and 720-h EDV data showed a signifi-cant increase(p=0.012,emonstrated at Day 3 compared to baseline,which was no longer statistically de-tectable for LVEF at Day 30(p=0.141),while the difference for dP_(max)was maintained(p=0.002).The complementary use of PiCCO hemodynamic measurements in large animal models makes the previously used methodologies more robust and reliable.

Enhancing magneto-optical effects is crucial for reducing the size of key photonic devices based on the non-reciprocal propagation of light and to enable active ***,we disclose a currently unexplored approach that exploits hybridization with multipolar dark modes in specially designed magnetoplasmonic nanocavities to achieve a large enhancement of the magneto-optically induced modulation of light *** broken geometrical symmetry of the design enables coupling with free-space light and hybridization of the multipolar dark modes of a plasmonic ring nanoresonator with the dipolar localized plasmon resonance of the ferromagnetic disk placed inside the *** hybridization results in a low-radiant multipolar Fano resonance that drives a strongly enhanced magneto-optically induced localized *** large amplification of the magneto-optical response of the nanocavity is the result of the large magneto-optically induced change in light polarization produced by the strongly enhanced radiant magneto-optical dipole,which is achieved by avoiding the simultaneous enhancement of reemitted light with incident polarization by the multipolar Fano *** partial compensation of the magnetooptically induced polarization change caused by the large re-emission of light with the original polarization is a critical limitation of the magnetoplasmonic designs explored thus far and that is overcome by the approach proposed here.

The oxygen reduction reaction （ORR） is essential in research pertaining to life science and energy. In applications, platinum-based catalysts give ideal reactivity, but, in practice, are often subject to high costs and poor stability. Some costefficient transition metal oxides have exhibited excellent ORR reactivity, but the stability and durability of such alternative catalyst materials pose serious challenges. Here, we present a facile method to fabricate uniform CoxOy nanoparticles and embed them into N-doped carbon, which results in a composite of extraordinary stability and durability, while maintaining its high reactivity. The half-wave potential shows a negative shift of only 21 mV after 10,000 cycles, only one third of that observed for Pt/C （63 mV）. Furthermore, after 100,000 s testing at a constant potential, the current decreases by only 17%, significantly less than for Pt/C （35%）. The exceptional stability and durability results from the system architecture, which comprises a thin carbon shell that prevents agglomeration of the CoxOy nanoparticles and their detaching from the substrate.

We develop an efficient and accurate spectral deferred correction(SDC)method for fractional differential equations(FDEs)by extending the algorithm in[14]for classical ordinary differential equations(ODEs).Specifically,we discretize the resulted Picard integral equation by the SDC method and accelerate the convergence of the SDC iteration by using the generalized minimal residual algorithm(GMRES).We first derive the correction matrix of the SDC method for FDEs and analyze the convergence region of the SDC *** then present several numerical examples for stiff and non-stiff FDEs including fractional linear and nonlinear ODEs as well as fractional phase field models,demonstrating that the accelerated SDC method is much more efficient than the original SDC method,especially for stiff ***,we resolve the issue of low accuracy arising from the singularity of the solutions by using a geometric mesh,leading to highly accurate solutions compared to uniform mesh solutions at almost the same computational ***,for long-time integration of FDEs,using the geometric mesh leads to great computational savings as the total number of degrees of freedom required is relatively small.

Although pesticide regulatory tools are mainly based on individual substances, aquatic ecosystems are usually exposed to multiple pesticides from their use on the variety of crops within the catchment of a river. This study estimated the impact of measured pesticide mixtures in surface waters from 2002 and 2008 within three important Portuguese river basins（＇Mondego＇, ＇Sado＇ and ＇Tejo＇） on primary producers, arthropods and fish by toxic pressure calculation. Species sensitivity distributions（SSDs）, in combination with mixture toxicity models, were applied. Considering the differences in the responses of the taxonomic groups as well as in the pesticide exposures that these organisms experience, variable acute multi-substance potentially affected fractions（ms PAFs） were obtained. The median msP AF for primary producers and arthropods in surface waters of all river basins exceeded 5%, the cut-off value used in the prospective SSD approach for deriving individual environmental quality standards. A ranking procedure identified various photosystem II inhibiting herbicides, with oxadiazon having the relatively largest toxic effects on primary producers, while the organophosphorus insecticides, chlorfenvinphos and chlorpyrifos, and the organochloride endosulfan had the largest effects on arthropods and fish, respectively. These results ensure compliance with European legislation with regard to ecological risk assessment and management of pesticides in surface waters.
