Relationships between Chronic Diseases and Depression among Middleaged and Elderly People in China: A Prospective Study from CHARLS

Given the rapid increase in the prevalence of chronic diseases in aging populations,this prospective study including 17707 adults aged≥45 years from China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study was used to estimate the associations between chronic discase,multimorbidity,and depression among middle-aged and elderly adults in China,and explore the mediating *** symptoms were assessed using the 10-item Centre for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale(CES-D-10)*** chronic physical conditions,including hypertension,diabetes,dyslipidemia,cancer,chronic lung disease,liver disease,heart failure,stroke,kidney disease,arthritis or rheumatism,asthma,digestive disease were *** prevalence rates for physical multimorbidity and depression(CES-D-10≥10)were 43.23%and 36.62%,*** multivariable logistic models and generalized estimating equation(GEE)models,we found all 12 chronic physical conditions,and multimorbidity were significantly associated with *** mobility problems and chronic pain explained more than 30%of the association for all chronic conditions,with particularly high percentages for stroke(51.56%)and cancer(51.06%)in mobility problems and cancer(53.35%)in chronic *** activities of daily living(ADL)explained 34.60%of the stroke-cancer relationship,while sleep problems explained between 10.15%(stroke)and 14.89%(chronic lung disease)of the *** with chronic diseases or multimorbidity are significantly more likely to be *** symptoms involving limitations of ADL and mobility difficulties mediated much of the association between chronic diseases and incident *** symptoms could be targeted for interventions to ameliorate the incidence of depression among individuals with chronic conditions.

Microstructural evolution and age-hardening behavior of Mg-2 Dy-6 Zn(at%)alloy during solid-solution and aging treatment were *** microstructure of as-cast alloy is composed of a-Mg,Mg3 DyZn6(Ⅰ)phase,Mg3 Dy2 Zn3(W)phase,Mg(Zn,Dy)phase and a small amount of Mg0.97Zn0.03 *** solid-solution treatment(480℃,12 h),all the I phases and most W phases dissolve into a-Mg matrix and the remainder W phases transform into Mg(Dy,Zn)phase and MgDy3 *** aging treatment,I phase and small amounts of W phases co-precipitate from α-Mg matrix,*** alloy exhibits a peak hardness of HV 77.5 at 200 ℃ for 8 *** excellent age-hardening behavior of alloy is mainly attributed to the co-precipitation strengthening of I and W phases.

Mechanism of local solidification time variations with melt rate during vacuum arc remelting process of 8Cr4Mo4V high-strength steel

A 2D axisymmetric numerical model was established to investigate the variations of molten pool with different melt rates during the vacuum arc remelting of 8Cr4Mo4V high-strength steel,and the ingot growth was simulated by dynamic mesh *** results show that as the ingot grows,the molten pool profile changes from shallow and flat to V-shaped,and both the molten pool depth and the mushy width ***,the variation of both the molten pool shape and the mushy width melt rate is clarified by the thermal equilibrium *** melt rate increases,both the molten pool depth and the mushy width *** is caused by the increment in sensible heat stored in the ingot due to the limitation of the cooling capacity of the *** nonlinear increment in sensible heat leads to a nonlinear increase in the mushy *** addition,as melt rate increases,the local solidification time(LST)of ingot decreases obviously at first and then *** melt rate is controlled in a suitable range,LST is the lowest and the secondary dendrite arm spacing of the ingot is the smallest,which can effectively improve the compactness degree of 8Cr4Mo4V high-strength steel.

Semi-mature MyD88-silenced bone marrow dendritic cells prolong the allograft survival in a rat model of intestinal transplantation

Background Semi-mature dendritic cells （DCs） may induce tolerance rather than ***,little is known about the regulatory mechanism by which these DCs induce transplant *** differentiation factor 88 （MyD88） is a key adaptor of Toil-like receptor signaling,which plays a critical role in DC *** of MyD88-silenced immature DCs results in the generation of semi-mature *** explored the possibility of using these DCs to induce intestinal transplant tolerance in *** MyD88 expression was silenced in bone marrow DCs （F344 rats） using small interfering RNAs for 24 hours,at which point,lipopolysaccharide （LPS） was added to the culture for another 48 *** cells were analyzed for their in vitro and in vivo tolerizing *** Semi-mature DCs expressing moderate levels of MHC class Ⅱ and low levels of co-stimulatory molecules were found to produce interleukin （IL）-10,while IL-12 production was *** vitro co-culture with completely allogeneic T cells from Wistar rats led to a significant decrease in alloreactive T-cell *** vivo,the transfer of semi-mature DCs （1×106 ceils） followed by the transplantation of fully mismatched intestinal grafts （F344 rats） led to significantly prolonged survival compared to rats receiving immature and mature *** from semi-mature DC-treated rats contained lower concentrations of the pro-inflammatory cytokines IL-2 and interferon-Y 5 days after *** Semi-mature DCs may promote inducible allograft tolerance and this study suggests a new strategy by which to facilitate the induction of transplant tolerance.

Hydrogen storage material has been much developed recently because of its potential for proton exchange membrane （PEM） fuel cell applications. A successful solid-state reversible storage material should meet the requirements of high storage capacity, suitable thermodynamic properties, and fast adsorption and desorption kinetics. Complex hydrides, including boron hydride and alanate, ammonia borane, metal organic frameworks （MOFs）, covalent organic frameworks （COFs） and zeolitic imidazolate frameworks （ZIFs）, are remarkable hydrogen storage materials because of their advantages of high energy density and safety. This feature article focuses mainly on the thermodynamics and kinetics of these hydrogen storage materials in the past few years.

Constrained clustering with weak label prior

Clustering is widely exploited in data *** has been proved that embedding weak label prior into clustering is effective to promote its *** researches mainly focus on only one type of ***,in many real scenarios,two kinds of weak label prior information,e.g.,pairwise constraints and cluster ratio,are easily obtained or already *** to incorporate them to improve clustering performance is important but rarely *** propose a novel constrained Clustering with Weak Label Prior method(CWLP),which is an integrated *** the unified spectral clustering model,the pairwise constraints are employed as a regularizer in spectral embedding and label proportion is added as a constraint in spectral *** approximate a variant of the embedding matrix more precisely,we replace a cluster indicator matrix with its scaled *** of fixing an initial similarity matrix,we propose a new similarity matrix that is more suitable for deriving clustering *** for the theoretical convergence and computational complexity analyses,we validate the effectiveness of CWLP through several benchmark datasets,together with its ability to discriminate suspected breast cancer patients from healthy *** experimental evaluation illustrates the superiority of our proposed approach.
