Persistent mixing bursts in the equatorial Pacific thermocline induced by persistent equatorial waves

A recent study by Liu et al.(2020)suggested that due to the saturation of equatorially trapped planetary waves with different dynamical types,temporal periods,meridional and baroclinic modes,complex layer structures of vertical velocity shear and hence turbulent mixing could frequently occur in the thermocline of the eastern equatorial Pacific.We investigated the occurrence of the interior turbulent mixing as indicated by shear instabilities,above the Equatorial Undercurrent(EUC)core at three equatorial sites along 140°W,170°W,and 165°E,respectively,based mainly on data from the Tropical Atmosphere and Ocean(TAO)mooring array.We found that turbulent mixing bursts persisted in the thermocline of all three sites.Specifically,the interior turbulent mixing layers(ITMLs)could occur in probability of approximately 68%,53%,and 48%at the three sites,respectively.The overall occurrence probability shows obvious and similar biannual variations at 140°W and 170°W,which is higher in boreal from late summer to winter and lower in spring.Vertically,the ITMLs are primarily located above the EUC core and prevail in deeper(shallower)layers from late summer to winter(spring).Most ITMLs(70%)lasted for hours to 3 days,and a few of them(15%)for more than 7 days.The thicknesses of ITMLs were concentrated between 15 and 55 m.At 165°E,the vertical distribution of ITML occurrence probability was different from that at 140°W and 170°W,as it did not show a preference for depths;the durations of ITMLs are short(also from hours to several days)and their thicknesses were between 5 and 25 m.These properties,particularly the high occurrence probability,and short durations demonstrated the persistence of thermocline mixing in the western to eastern equatorial Pacific thermocline and confirmed the generation mechanism by persistent equatorial waves as well.

Most basal-like breast cancers(BLBCs)have a poor prognosis and high crossover with triple-negative breast cancers(TNBCs).However,approximately 50%of TNBC patients develop chemoresistance.^(1) Dexamethasone reportedly induces Krüppel-like factor 5(KLF5)and can cause docetaxel and cisplatin resistance in TNBC.A super-enhancer can maintain the transcription of KLF5.

Acute myocardial infarction(AMI)is a life-threatening disease when sudden blockage of coronary artery occurs.As the most specific biomarker,cardiac troponin I(cTnI)is usually checked separately to diagnose or eliminate AMI,and achieving the accurate detection of cTnI is of great significance to patients'life and health.Compared with other methods,fluorescent detection has the advantages of simple operation,high sensitivity and wide applicability.However,due to the strong fluorescence interference of biological molecules in body fluids,it is often difficult to obtain high sensitivity.In order to solve this problem,in this study,surface acoustic wave separation is designed to purify the target to achieve more sensitive detection performance of fluorescent detection.Specifically,the interference of background noise is almost completely removed on a microfluidic chip by isolating microbeads through acoustic radiation force,on which the biomarkers are captured by the immobilized detection probe.And then,the concentration of cTnI in human serum is detected by the fluorescence intensity change of the isolated functionalized beads.By this way,the detection limit of our biosensor calculated by 3σ/K method is 44 pg/mL and 0.34 ng/mL in PBS buffer and human serum respectively.Finally,the reliability of this method has been validated by comparison with clinical tests from the nephelometric analyzer in hospital.

Research on the Application and Effectiveness of the DRG Model on Perioperative Medical Management of Cholecystectomy

Objective:This study aimed to explore the application and effectiveness of the DRG model in the perioperative management of cholecystectomy.By comparing the DRG model with traditional management methods,this study focused on evaluating the potential impact of the DRG model in improving surgical efficiency and reducing complication rates and medical costs.Methods:The random envelope method was used to divide patients scheduled for cholecystectomy from January 2021 to October 2023 into two groups:one group underwent surgery under the DRG model(experimental group),and the other group underwent the traditional management model(control group).Data including basic information,surgery-related data,length of stay,complication records,and medical expenses were collected.Data analysis was carried out using a t-test and chi-square(χ2)test.Results:Results showed that the DRG model shortened the average length of stay,decreased the incidence of complications,reduced medical expenses,and increased patient satisfaction.These results demonstrate the effectiveness of the DRG model in the perioperative management of cholecystectomy,especially in improving surgical efficiency,reducing medical costs,and improving patient satisfaction.Conclusion:The DRG model in the perioperative management of cholecystectomy can significantly improve medical service quality and efficiency and enhance patient satisfaction as compared to traditional treatment methods.

鸦片战争后,随着清政府对地方控制力度迅速衰减,中国东南沿海民间对外贸易逐渐兴起,进而形成近代东亚及东南亚华商贸易网络,二者通过中国香港及华南保持密切商业联系,并对区域内其他亚洲国家商人形成巨大优势。而日本开国后,既从华商贸易网络获得工业化所需的海外市场与原料供应,又意欲摆脱其约束。日本当局中日甲午战争至一战爆发期间通过侵略战争与工业化并举,促使日商迅速摆脱对华商的依赖。随着日商贸易网络的强势崛起,东亚华商贸易网络渐遭肢解。一战时期中日两国的国际贸易竞争由东亚延至东南亚,随后东南亚华商贸易网络与日商在合作与对立之间反复拉扯,政治因素成为重要背景。如从贸易角度视之,日本发动太平洋战争的动机中也包含再度以战争手段压制华商贸易网络的企图,其中依稀可见其19世纪末肢解东亚华商贸易网络的“东亚经验”的历史痕迹。

Evaluation of Attending Medical Teams and Their Impact on the DRG Components of Cholecystectomy

Objective:This study assessed the role of the attending medical team in the cost control of the cholecystectomy DRG components.Methods:The association between team structure,workflow,and treatment outcomes was analyzed using a mixed-methods approach combining quantitative data and qualitative interviews from 628 patients.Results:Inter-professional teamwork significantly affected length of stay,treatment costs,and recurrence rates,with experienced teams performing better in terms of emergency response and collaborative efficiency.Patient satisfaction was generally high,indicating that good teamwork enhances treatment outcomes.Significance:The study highlights the importance of optimizing team configuration to improve the quality,efficiency,and cost control of healthcare.

Multiple virus sorting based on aptamer-modified microspheres in a TSAW device

Due to the overlapping epidemiology and clinical manifestations of flaviviruses,differential diagnosis of these viral diseases is complicated,and the results are unreliable.There is perpetual demand for a simplified,sensitive,rapid and inexpensive assay with less cross-reactivity.The ability to sort distinct virus particles from a mixture of biological samples is crucial for improving the sensitivity of diagnoses.Therefore,we developed a sorting system for the subsequent differential diagnosis of dengue and tick-borne encephalitis in the early stage.We employed aptamer-modified polystyrene(PS)microspheres with different diameters to specifically capture dengue virus(DENV)and tick-borne encephalitis virus(TBEV),and utilized a traveling surface acoustic wave(TSAW)device to accomplish microsphere sorting according to particle size.The captured viruses were then characterized by laser scanning confocal microscopy(LSCM),field emission scanning electron microscopy(FE-SEM)and reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT‒PCR).The characterization results indicated that the acoustic sorting process was effective and damage-free for subsequent analysis.Furthermore,the strategy can be utilized for sample pretreatment in the differential diagnosis of viral diseases.

社区搜索旨在从信息网络中找出包含用户查询顶点的高内聚连通子图,cycle truss是一种基于cycle三角形的社区搜索模型,而现有的基于索引的cycle truss社区搜索方法存在索引空间大、搜索效率低、社区内聚性低的缺点。为了解决这一问题,提出一种基于层次树索引的最大cycle truss社区搜索方法。首先,提出了k-cycle truss分解算法,并引入了两个重要的概念:cycle三角连通与k-层次等价。基于k-层次等价设计了层次树索引TreeCIndex与表结构索引SuperTable,在此基础上,并基于这两个新的索引,提出了两个高效的cycle truss社区搜索算法。在4个真实数据集上与已有的基于TrussIndex与EquiTruss的社区搜索算法进行了比较,实验结果表明,TreeCIndex与SuperTable比TrussIndex与EquiTruss节省至少41.5%的空间,索引构建的时间节省8.2%至98.3%,且搜索最大cycle truss社区的效率分别高出了一个和两个数量级。

X射线计算机断层扫描(X-ray computed tomography,X-ray CT)技术作为一种无损测试方法,已被广泛用于评估沥青混合料中的空隙结构和与空隙有关的病害。基于X-ray CT和图像处理技术,从细观结构层面探讨了车辙变形过程中沥青混合料的空隙结构特征。提出了体积等效球棍模型来表征空隙连通性的变化,用改进的环扇分割变异系数、位置偏心率和球度分别描述了空隙的分布和形状特征。结果表明,车辙对沥青混合料空隙结构的影响机制因混合料类型而异。与密级配沥青混凝土(AC-13)相比,沥青玛蹄脂碎石混合料(SMA-13)中的空隙更加不均匀和离散,尤其是那些体积小于0.01 mm^(3)的空隙。此外,SMA-13中的空隙连通性和分布更容易受到外部荷载的影响,其粗集料在变形过程中往往会产生定向移动进而改变初始位置。尽管车辙变形同时增加了2种混合料中空隙的水平不均匀性,但AC-13的竖向不均匀性减少,而SMA-13的竖向不均匀性增加。加载使AC-13混合料的空隙几何形状变得复杂和分散,而SMA-13则相反,预示着与AC混合料相比,SMA混合料在加载1 h后仍保持抵抗车辙破坏的潜力。总体而言,沥青混合料中空隙的拓扑特征及其在车辙变形过程中的动态响应主要取决于混合料的级配形式。
