BACKGROUND Bone healing is a complex process involving early inflammatory immune regu-lation,angiogenesis,osteogenic differentiation,and *** repair poses challenges for orthopedic surgeons,necessitating the search for efficient healing *** To investigate the underlying mechanism by which hydrogel-loaded exosomes derived from bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(BMSCs)facilitate the process of fracture *** Hydrogels and loaded BMSC-derived exosome(BMSC-exo)gels were charac-terized to validate their *** vitro evaluations were conducted to assess the impact of hydrogels on various stages of the healing *** could recruit macrophages and inhibit inflammatory responses,enhance of human umbilical vein endothelial cell angiogenesis,and promote the osteogenic differen-tiation of primary cranial ***,the effect of hydrogel on fracture healing was confirmed using a mouse fracture *** The hydrogel effectively attenuated the inflammatory response during the initial repair stage and subsequently facilitated vascular migration,promoted the formation of large vessels,and enabled functional vascularization during bone *** effects were further validated in fracture *** We successfully fabricated a hydrogel loaded with BMSC-exo that modulates macrophage polarization and angiogenesis to influence bone regeneration.

Objective Apatinib is a novel inhibitor of vascular endothelial growth factor *** goal of this study was to evaluate overall survival(OS)after a combination of transarterial chemoembolization(TACE)and apatinib in patients with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)and to identify the factors affecting patient *** Fifty-one patients with advanced HCC who received TACE in combination with apatinib in our hospital from June 2015 to May 2017 were *** OS and progression-free survival(PFS)were calculated using the Kaplan-Meier *** log-rank test and Cox regression model were used to determine the factors affecting *** The median OS and PFS of the patients were 15 months and 10 months,*** 1-,2-,and 3-year survival rates were 64.7%,23.5%,and 1.8%,*** survival analysis showed that patients with Child-Pugh A(P=0.006),reduction rate of proper hepatic artery(P=0.016),hand-foot syndrome(P=0.005),secondary hypertension(P=0.050),and without ascites(P=0.010)had a better *** analysis showed that hand-foot syndrome(P=0.014),secondary hypertension(P=0.017),and reduction rate of proper hepatic artery(P=0.025)were independent predictors of better *** TACE combined with apatinib is a promising treatment for advanced ***-foot syndrome,secondary hypertension,and the reduction rate of proper hepatic artery were associated with a better OS.

Clinical Efficacy of Super-Selective Renal Artery Embolization for Rupture of Renal Angiomyolipoma

OBJECTIVE To evaluate the efficacy of selective transcatheter arterial embolization （TAE） in renal angiomyolipoma （AML） spontaneous ruptures with hemorrhage. METHODS A retrospective evaluation was carried out in 21 renal AML cases with acute bleeding confirmed by imaging. Selective renal arterial embolization was used to control bleeding. All the cases were detected by renal arteriography had abnormal vascular hyperplasia and enlarged blood vessels. RESULTS Initial renal arteriography for all the patients showed that tortuous, hypervascular, and aneurysm-forming angiogenic components with aneurysm formation occurred in 13 cases （61.9%） and extravasation of the contrast agent was found in 8 cases （38.1%）. Immediate complete obliteration was technically successful in 19 （90.5%） of the 21 patients. To prevent uncontrollable complications, 3 patients received nephron-sparing surgery after hemodynamic status was stabilized with TAE a week later. Two days and 3 days after the embolizations, 2 patients presented with incomplete embolizations and then underwent nephrectomy when they were in a stable condition. There were no significant differences in the plasma creatinine levels before and after the treatment. All the patients were followed up for 6 months to 6 years （median, 45 months）. The largest tumor diameter was reduced from （11.57-±4.28） cm to （9.57±2.28） cm. The tumor had no blood supply and no relapses have occurred. CONCLUSION TAE is a technically feasible and minimally invasive procedure for ruptured renal angiomyolipoma. The aneurysms were a predictor of renal AML spontaneous rupture and detection of such aneurysms by CT may help to determine the timing of embolization. In patients who still need surgical treatment, TAE can make tumor resection easier to perform and reduce blood loss during the operation.

Multi-electron reaction and fast Al ion diffusion of δ-MnO_(2) cathode materials in rechargeable aluminum batteries via first-principle calculations

Rechargeable aluminum batteries with multi-electron reaction have a high theoretical capacity for next generation of energy storage devices. However, the diffusion mechanism and intrinsic property of Al insertion into MnO_(2) are not clear. Hence, based on the first-principles calculations, key influencing factors of slow Al-ions diffusion are narrow pathways, unstable Al-O bonds and Mn^(3+) type polaron have been identified by investigating four types of δ-MnO_(2)(O3, O'3, P2 and T1). Although Al insert into δ-MnO_(2) leads to a decrease in the spacing of the Mn-Mn layer, P2 type MnO_(2) keeps the long(spacious pathways)and stable(2.007–2.030 A) Al-O bonds resulting in the lower energy barrier of Al diffusion of 0.56 e V. By eliminated the influence of Mn^(3+)(low concentration of Al insertion), the energy barrier of Al migration achieves 0.19 e V in P2 type, confirming the obviously effect of Mn^(3+) polaron. On the contrary, although the T1 type MnO_(2) has the sluggish of Al-ions diffusion, the larger interlayer spacing of Mn-Mn layer,causing by H_(2)O could assist Al-ions diffusion. Furthermore, it is worth to notice that the multilayer δ-MnO_(2) achieves multi-electron reaction of 3|e|. Considering the requirement of high energy density, the average voltage of P2(1.76 V) is not an obstacle for application as cathode in RABs. These discover suggest that layered MnO_(2) should keep more P2-type structure in the synthesis of materials and increase the interlayer spacing of Mn-Mn layer for providing technical support of RABs in large-scale energy storage.

Thin-walled torispherical heads under internal pressure can fail by plastic buckling because of compressive circumferential stresses in the head ***,existing formulas still have limitations,such as complicated expressions and low accuracy,in determining buckling *** this paper,we propose a new formula for calculating the buckling pressure of torispherical heads based on elastic-plastic analysis and experimental ***,a finite element(FE)method based on the arc-length method is established to calculate the plastic buckling pressure of torispherical heads,considering the effects of material strain hardening and geometrical *** buckling pressure results calculated by the FE method in this paper have good consistency with those of BOSOR5,which is a program for calculating the elastic-plastic bifurcation buckling pressure based on the finite difference energy ***,the effects of geometric parameters,material parameters,and restraint form of head edge on buckling pressure are ***,a new formula for calculating plastic buckling pressure is developed by fitting the curve of FE results and introducing a reduction factor determined from experimental ***,based on the experimental results,we compare the predictions of the new formula with those of existing *** is shown that the new formula has a higher accuracy than the existing ones.

Mechanically lined pipe(MLP)is often used for offshore oil and gas transport because of its low cost and corrosion *** installation and operation,the pipe may undergo severe bending deformation,which causes the liner to separate from the outer pipe and buckles,affecting the stability of the whole *** this paper,the buckling response of MLP subjected to bending is investigated to clarify its bending characteristics by employing both experiments,numerical simulation,as theoretical *** types of MLPs were manufactured with GB 45 carbon steel(SLP)and Al 6061(ALP)used as the outer pipe material,*** hydraulic expansion and bending experiments of small-scale MLPs are *** addition to the ovalized shape of the cross-section for the SLP specimens,the copper liner was found to wrinkle on the compressive *** contrast,the liner of ALP remains intact without developing any wrinkling and collapse *** addition,a dedicated numerical framework and theoretical models were also *** was found both the manufacturing and bending responses of the MLP can be well reproduced,and the predicted maximum moment and critical curvatures are in good agreement with the experimental results.

Die filling is a critical stage during powder compaction,which can significantly affect the product quality and *** this paper,a forced feeder is introduced attempting to improve the filling performance of a lab-scale die filling *** die filling process is analysed with a graphics processing units(GPU)enhanced discrete element method(DEM).Various stirrer designs are assessed for a wide range of process settings(i.e.,stirrer speed,filling speed)to explore their influence on the die filling performance of free-flowing *** results show that die filing with the novel helical-ribbon(i.e.,type D)stirrer design exhibits the highest filling ratio,implying that it is the most robust stirrer design for the feeder configuration ***,die filling performance with the type D stirrer design is a function of the stirrer speed and the filling speed.A positive variation of filling ratio(ηf>0%)can be ensured over the whole range of filling speed by adjusting the stirrer speed(i.e.,increasing the stirrer speed).The approach used in this study can not only help understand how the stirrer design affects the die filling performance but also guide the optimization of feeder system and process settings.
