Mediator tail module subunits MED16 and MED25 differentially regulate abscisic acid signaling in Arabidopsis

MED25 has been implicated as a negative regulator of the abscisic acid(ABA)signaling ***,it is unclear whether other Mediator subunits could associate with MED25 to participate in the ABA ***,we used affinity purification followed by mass spectrometry to uncover Mediator subunits that associate with MED25 in transgenic *** found that at least26 Mediator subunits,belonging to the head,middle,tail,and CDK8 kinase modules,were copurified with MED25 in ***,the tail module subunit MED16 was identified to associate with MED25 under both mock and ABA *** further showed that the disruption of MED16 led to reduced ABA sensitivity compared to the wild *** analysis revealedthattheexpressionofseveral ABA-responsive genes was significantly lower in med16 than those in wild ***,we discovered that MED16 may possibly compete with MED25 to interact with the key transcription factor ABA INSENSITIVE 5(ABI5)to positively regulate ABA ***,med16 and med25 mutants displayed opposite phenotypes in ABA response,cuticle permeability,and differential ABI5-mediated EM1 and EM6 ***,our data indicate that MED16 and MED25 differentially regulate ABA signaling byantagonisticallyaffectingABI5-mediated transcription in Arabidopsis.

Protein kinases are major regulatory components in almost all cellular processes in eukaryotic *** adding phosphate groups,protein kinases regulate the activity,localization,protein-protein interactions,and other features of their target *** is known that protein kinases,such as SNF1-related protein kinases 2 and 3(SnRK2 and SnRK3),calcium dependent protein kinases(CDPKs),and mitogen activated protein kinases(MAPKs) are central components in plant response to environmental stresses,such as drought,high salinity,cold,and pathogen *** phosphorylationdependent signaling plays critical roles in plant stress biology,only a small number of targets of these protein kinases have been identified,and consequently how these protein kinases regulate downstream biological processes and mediate stress responses are still largely *** this study,we developed an isotope labeled protein kinase assay-based approach with enriched phosphoproteomes as kinase-substrate pools to identify the putative substrates of eight protein kinases that function in plant abiotic and biotic stress *** a result,we identified more than five thousand putative targets from 11 protein kinase-stimuli *** also analyzed the conserved motif and functional ontology of these putative kinase *** results provide comprehensive information on the role of these protein kinases in controlling cellular activities and constitute a valuable resource for further studies on the mechanisms underlying plant response to environmental stresses.

Patients with suspected OSA were examined using *** were divided into two groups based on the presence of *** was defined as a patient who needed to void at least *** index(AHI)was employed to classify patients according to degrees of severity:AHI<5 events/h,5 events/hAHI<15 events/h,15 events/hAHI<30 events/h,and AHI30 events/h,defined as normal,mild OSA,moderate OSA,and severe OSA,*** variables,PSG parameters,International Prostate Symptom Scores(IPSSs),and quality of life scores due to urinary symptoms were ***:In total 140 patients,114 patients had OSA(48 had mild OSA;34 had moderate OSA;and 32 had severe OSA)and 107 patients had *** total IPSS was significantly higher in nocturia patients in all groups except the group of severe OSA *** the increasing severity of OSA,more correlated factors related to nocturia were *** mild OSA patients,nocturia related to increased age(p=0.025),minimum arterial blood oxygenation saturation(p=0.046),and decreased AHI of non-rapid eye movement(p=0.047),AHI of total sleep time(p=0.010),and desaturation index(p=0.012).In moderate OSA patients,nocturia related to increased age(p<0.001),awake time(p=0.025),stage 1 sleep(p=0.033),and sleep latency(p=0.033),and decreased height(p=0.044),weight(p=0.025),and sleep efficiency(p=0.003).In severe OSA patients,nocturia related to increased weight(p=0.011),body mass index(p=0.009),awake time(p=0.008),stage 1 sleep(p=0.040),arousal number(p=0.030),arousal index(p=0.013),periodic limb movement number(p=0.013),and periodic limb movement index(p=0.004),and decreased baseline arterial blood oxygenation saturation(p=0.046).Conclusion:Our study revealed that there were more correlated factors related to nocturia with increasing severity of *** study helps in clinical education and treatment for OSA patients with different severity.

BACKGROUND Adenocarcinoma is the most common subtype of prostate *** urothelial carcinoma(UC)typically originates from the prostatic *** concurrent occurrence of adenocarcinoma and UC of the prostate gland is *** SUMMARY We present the case of an 82-year-old male patient with simultaneous adenocarcinoma and UC of the prostate *** patient underwent a transrectal ultrasound-guided biopsy,and the pathology test revealed ***,transurethral laser prostatectomy was performed,and the pathology test indicated adenocarcinoma of the prostate with a Gleason score of 3+4 and highgrade ***,the patient was treated with androgen deprivation therapy,systemic chemotherapy,and *** resonance imaging performed during follow-up revealed a prostate tumor classified as cT2cN1M0,stage ***,the patient underwent robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy and bilateral pelvic lymph node *** final pathology test of the prostate gland revealed acinar-type adenocarcinoma,Gleason pattern 4+3,pT2N0M0,and high-grade *** patient regularly presented to the clinic for postoperative follow-up *** did not experience any urinary *** According to our literature review,this is the first reported case of coexisting adenocarcinoma and UC of the prostate gland.

As sessile organisms,plants must adapt to variations in the *** stress triggers various responses,including growth inhibition,mediated by the plant hormone abscisic acid(ABA).The mechanisms that integrate stress responses with growth are poorly ***,we discovered that the Target of Rapamycin(TOR) kinase phosphorylates PYL ABA receptors at a conserved serine residue to prevent activation of the stress response in unstressed *** phosphorylation disrupts PYL association with ABA and with PP2 C phosphatase effectors,leading to inactivation of SnRK2 *** stress,ABA-activated Sn RK2 s phosphorylate Raptor,a component of the TOR complex,triggering TOR complex dissociation and ***,TOR signaling represses ABA signaling and stress responses in unstressed conditions,whereas ABA signaling represses TOR signaling and growth during times of *** utilize this conserved phospho-regulatory feedback mechanism to optimize the balance of growth and stress responses.

For 7475 Al alloy,there were micrographs showing filaments or whiskers formation during the separation stage of superplastic *** indicates the presence of liquid phase which accommodates grain boundary sliding to reach *** the other hand,there is no such phenomenon reported regarding Mg alloy in *** electron microscopic(SEM)fractography exceptionally exhibits a mark of grain boundary sliding and its accommodating mechanism of inter-granular liquid *** the testing conditions of 350℃ and 1×10- 4s -1,the initially fine-grained structure(3.7μm)yields 642%superplastic elongation and exhibits fluffy appearance on the fractured *** other specimens showing less superplasticity,their fractured surfaces exhibit partial fluffy appearance.

Study on the Drift Effect of Potassium Ion Sensing Based on the Extended Gate Field Effect Transistor

Hospital type- and volume-outcome relationships in esophageal cancer patients receiving non-surgical treatments

AIM: To study the "hospital type-outcome" and "volumeoutcome" relationships in patients with esophageal cancer who receive non-surgical ***: A total of 6106 patients with esophageal cancer diagnosed between 2008 and 2011 were identified from a national population-based cancer registry in Taiwan. The hospital types were defined as medical center and non-medical center. The threshold for high-volume hospitals was based on a median volume of 225 cases between 2008 and 2011(annual volume, > 56 cases) or an upper quartile(> 75%) volume of 377 cases(annual volume > 94 cases). Cox regression analyses were used to determine the effects of hospital type and volume outcome on patient ***: A total of 3955 non-surgically treated patients were included in the survival analysis. In the unadjusted analysis, the significant prognostic factors included c T, c N, c M stage, hospital type and hospital volume(annual volume, > 94 vs ≤ 94). The 1- and 3-year overall survival rates in the non-medical centers(36.2% and 13.2%, respectively) were significantly higher than those in the medical centers(33.5% and 11.3%, respectively; P = 0.027). The 1- and 3-year overall survival rates in hospitals with an annual volume of ≤ 94(35.3% and 12.6%, respectively) were significantly higher than those with an annual volume of > 94(31.1% and 9.4%, respectively; P = 0.001). However, in the multivariate analysis, the hospital type was not statistically significant. Only c T, c N, and c M stages and hospital volume(annual volume > 94 vs ≤94) were independent prognostic ***: Whether the treatment occurs in medicalcenters is not a significant prognostic factor. Highvolume hospitals were not associated with better survival rates compared with low-volume hospitals.

Dimension and frequency of bar formation in a braided river

This paper presents flume and field observations of a bank-confined braided *** features,including plan form configuration,channel width,and main channel migration,were examined by a series of *** measurements of channel morphology,provided a basis to estimate the relationship between noncumulative frequency of bars and bar *** results from the Dajia River,located in Central Western Taiwan,were presented to provide a reference data set for comparing the laboratory and field *** results indicate that the relationship between bar length and width can be predicted by a simple best-fit power function relating to self-similarity *** Hurst index by Walsh and Hicks(2002) provides acceptable predictions of the bar length and width observed in the experiments and confirmed by the field *** and field results both show that large river width yields a uniform distribution of bar areas with the similar discharge,leading to a large value of exponent(ft) in the *** river width is confirmed to be a critical parameter in the main channel shift.A small increase in channel width likely increased rapidly the shift cycle.
