Introduction:Research has shown the negative impacts of climate change on the economy and how the state of the environment has been a complex global *** studies have suggested immediate actions to avoid any unforeseen circumstances for all living things on *** research has also supported all kinds of sustainability efforts as resolutions to address the deterioration of climate change caused by business ***:There is a need for companies to start acting and assigning employees to mitigate carbon emitted by *** study is motivated by the lack of empirical evidence that examines how corporate carbon governance influences better carbon performance of organizations and authorizes organizations to implement and embed carbon ***:This study used evidence from Malaysia to explore this subject matter and examined the association between carbon governance and carbon performance of *** research also investigated the mediation effect of carbon accounting with respect to carbon governance and carbon ***:It is revealed that carbon governance had no significant influence on an organization’s carbon performance although carbon accounting implementation positively influenced carbon *** findings imply that despite its insignificance,carbon accounting remains a vital matter to be deployed by organizations for better carbon emission mitigation.

A classical function of Clq is to bind immune complexes and initiate complement activation producing membrane lytic complexes, opsonins and anaphylatoxins. This classical pathway of complement activation is also elicited when Clq binds some other ligands. Besides complement activation, Clq also regulates cell differentiation, adhesion, migration, activation and survival. Clq deficiency is associated with autoimmunity as well as increased susceptibility to infections. In this article, we discuss the basic properties of Clq, its expression, and classical and regulatory functions. Cellular ＆ Molecular Immunology.

There is still very little information on the sources of water absorbed by oil palm plant. This information is very important for water management system in oil palm plantation. Thus, this study was carried out to determine current water sources absorbed by the oil palm roots using oxygen (δ18O) and deuterium isotopes (δD) techniques. Sketches of oxygen and deuterium isotope were total rainfall, throughfall, runoff, measurement at 5 soil depths (namely: 20 cm, 50 cm, 100 cm, 150 cm, and 200 cm), and oil palm stem. Results of this study showed huge variance in the values of oxygen and deuterium isotope. Based on Least Significant Difference (LSD) test, there was no significant value in the oxygen and deuterium isotope of stem water and others;however, a similar value was obtained at the depths of 0 - 20 cm and 20 - 50 cm with the stem water. This indicated that oil palm absorbed water from 0 - 50 cm depth. This result agreed with the oil palm rooting system, which has verified that the root quarter is the most active root of oil palm.

The development of multilayer network techniques is a boon for researchers who wish to understand how different interaction layers might influence each other,and how these in turn might influence group ***,we investigate how integration between male and female grooming and aggression interaction networks influences male power trajectories in vervet monkeys Chlorocebus *** previous analyses of this phenomenon used a monolayer approach,and our aim here is to extend these analyses using a dynamic multilayer *** do so,we constructed a temporal series of male and female interaction *** then used a multivariate multilevel autoregression model to compare cross-lagged associations between a male's centrality in the female grooming layer and changes in male Elo *** results confirmed our original findings:changes in male centrality within the female grooming network were weakly but positively tied to changes in their Elo ***,the multilayer network approach offered additional insights into this social process,identifying how changes in a male's centrality cascade through the other network *** dynamic view indicates that the changes in Elo ratings are likely to be short-lived,but that male centrality within the female network had a much stronger impact throughout the multilayer network as a whole,especially on reducing intermale aggression(i.e.,aggression directed by males toward other males).We suggest that multilayer social network approaches can take advantage of increased amounts of social data that are more commonly collected these days,using a variety of *** data are inherently multilevel and multilayered,and thus offer the ability to quantify more precisely the dynamics of animal social behaviors.

为了进一步探究迷走神经刺激术(Vagus nerve stimulation,VNS)在儿童难治性癫痫中的作用,进行了连续随访达24个月,系迄今最大样本量的多中心回顾性研究.主要目标是评估VNS术后癫痫主要发作类型(定义为最易致残的发作类型)的频率变化,连续收集从基线开始一直到植入术后6、12及24个月的患者数据.统计人群包括347例患者(年龄6个月~17.9岁).在植入后第6、12及24月,分别有32.5%、37.6%及43.8%的患者主要发作类型的发作与基线相比,有50%减少.亚组分析中,在试验期间没有更换抗癫痫药物(AEDs)的患者有更好的反应.较好的结果也存在于所有次要指标,包括癫痫发作持续时间、严重程度和发作后严重程度、生活质量、安全性等.多组分析表明VNS每天总放电量与反应效率有相关性.VNS治疗被认为是局灶性结构性癫痫患儿的附加治疗,指那些经过两种及以上AEDs治疗后仍不适合外科手术的患者.全面性发作,有遗传及结构异常的,如Dravet综合征和Lennox-Gastaut综合征的患者能从VNS治疗中获益.结果表明随访24个月后,难治性癫痫患儿通过附加的VNS治疗能够减少癫痫发作频率,安全性良好;多组分析表明VNS有剂量相关性.

The prediction of material properties based on density-functional theory has become routinely common,thanks,in part,to the steady increase in the number and robustness of available simulation *** plurality of codes and methods is both a boon and a *** providing great opportunities for cross-verification,these packages adopt different methods,algorithms,and paradigms,making it challenging to choose,master,and efficiently use *** demonstrate how developing common interfaces for workflows that automatically compute material properties greatly simplifies interoperability and *** introduce design rules for reusable,code-agnostic,workflow interfaces to compute well-defined material properties,which we implement for eleven quantum engines and use to compute various material *** implementation encodes carefully selected simulation parameters and workflow logic,making the implementer’s expertise of the quantum engine directly available to *** workflows are made available as open-source and full reproducibility of the workflows is guaranteed through the use of the AiiDA infrastructure.
