Objective:Selective angioembolization(SAE)effectively diagnoses and treats iatrogenic vascular complications following percutaneous nephrolithotomy(PCNL).Methods:We retrospectively reviewed 1329 consecutive PCNLs and identified patients who underwent SAE following PCNL with at least 12-month *** glomerular filtration rate(eGFR)was calculated for all patients preoperatively,postoperatively and at last followup.A 1:2 matched cohort analysis was ***:Twenty-three patients underwent SAE and matched to 46 *** was no statistically significant difference in preoperative,postoperative,and follow-up eGFR when comparing patients who underwent SAE and those with an uneventful ***:Long-term eGFR is comparable in patients who undergo uncomplicated PCNL and those requiring SAE.

A soil coring protocol was developed to cooptimize the estimation of root length distribution(RLd)by depth and detection of functionally important variation in root system architecture(RSA)of maize and *** functional-structural model OpenSimRoot was used to perform in silico soil coring at six locations on three different maize and bean RSA *** were compared to two seasons of field soil coring and one *** one-sided T-test(TOST)analysis of in silico data suggests a between-row location 5 cm from plant base(location 3),best estimates whole-plot RLd/d of deep,intermediate,and shallow RSA phenotypes,for both maize and *** discriminant analysis indicates location 3 has~70%categorization accuracy for bean,while an in-row location next to the plant base(location 6)has~85%categorization accuracy in *** of field data suggests the more representative sampling locations vary by year and *** silico and field studies suggest location 3 is most robust,although variation is significant among seasons,among replications within a field season,and among field soil coring,trench,and *** propose that the characterization of the RLd profile as a dynamic rhizo canopy effectively describes how the RLd profile arises from interactions among an individual plant,its neighbors,and the pedosphere.

Acute coronary syndromes presenting with ST elevation are usually treated with emergency reperfusion/revascularisation therapy. In contrast current evidence and national guidelines recommend risk stratification for non ST segment elevation myocardial infarction(NSTEMI) with the decision on revascularisation dependent on perceived clinical risk. Risk stratification for STEMI has no recommendation. Statistical risk scoring techniques in NSTEMI have been demonstrated to improve outcomes however their uptake has been poor perhaps due to questions over their discrimination and concern for application to individuals who may not have been adequately represented in clinical trials. STEMI is perceived to carry sufficient risk to warrant emergency coronary intervention [by primary percutaneous coronary intervention(PPCI)] even if this results in a delay to reperfusion with immediate thrombolysis. Immediate thrombolysis may be as effective in patients presenting early, or at low risk, but physicians are poor at assessing clinical and procedural risks and currently are not required to consider this. Inadequate data on risk stratification in STEMI inhibits the option of immediate fibrinolysis, which may be cost-effective. Currently the mode of reperfusion for STEMI defaults to emergency angiography and percutaneous coronary intervention ignoring alternative strategies. This review article examines the current risk scores and evidence base for risk stratification for STEMI patients. The requirements for an ideal STEMI risk score are discussed.

Current cell-wall models assume no covalent bonding between cellulose and hemicelluloses such as xyloglu-can or mixed-linkageβ-d-glucan(MLG).However,Equisetum hetero-trans-β-glucanase(HTG)grafts cellu-lose onto xyloglucan oligosaccharides(XGOs)-and,we now show,xyloglucan polysaccharide-in vitro,thus exhibiting CXE(cellulose:xyloglucan endotransglucosylase)*** addition,HTG also catalyzes MLG-to-XGO bonding(MXE activity).In this study,we explored the CXE action of HTG in native plant cell walls and tested whether expansin exposes cellulose to HTG by disrupting hydrogen *** quantify and visu-alize CXE and MXE action,we assayed the sequential release of HTG products from cell walls pre-labeled with substrate *** demonstrated covalent cellulose--xyloglucan bonding in plant cell walls and showed that CXE and MXE action was up to 15%and 60%of total transglucanase action,respectively,and peaked in aging,strengthening tissues:CXE in xylem and cells bordering intercellular canals and MXE in *** bacterial expansin(EXLX1)strongly augmented CXE activity in *** and MXE ac-tion in living Equisetum structural tissues potentially strengthens stems,while expansin might augment the HTG-catalyzed CXE reaction,thereby allowing efficient CXE action in *** methods will enable surveys for comparable reactions throughout the plant ***,engineering similar hetero-polymer formation into angiosperm crop plants may improve certain agronomic traits such as lodging tolerance.

The gaseous phytohormone ethylene regulates many developmental processes and responses to environmental conditions in higher plants. In Arabidopsis thaliana, ethylene perception and initiation of signaling are mediated by a family of five receptors which are related to prokaryotic two-component sensor histidine kinases. The transient ex- pression of fluorescence-tagged receptors in tobacco （Nicotiana benthamiana） epidermal leaf cells demonstrated that all ethylene receptors are targeted to the ER endomembrane network and do not localize to the plasmalemma. In support of in planta overlay studies, the ethylene receptors form homomeric and heteromeric protein complexes at the ER in living plant cells, as shown by membrane recruitment assays. A comparable in vivo interaction pattern was found in the yeast mating-based split-ubiquitin system. The overlapping but distinct expression pattern of the ethylene receptor genes suggests a differential composition of the ethylene receptor complexes in different plant tissues. Our findings may have crucial functional implications on the ethylene receptor-mediated efficiency of hormone perception, induction of signaling, signal attenuation and output.

Rate-transient analysis(RTA)has been widely applied to extract estimates of reservoir/hydraulic fracture ***,the majority of RTA techniques can lead to misdiagnosis of reservoir/fracture information when the reservoir exhibits reservoir heterogeneity and multiphase flow *** work proposes a practical-yet-rigorous method to decouple the effects of reservoir heterogeneity and multiphase flow during TLF,and improve the evaluation of reservoir/fracture properties.A new,general,semi-analytical model is proposed that explicitly accounts for multiphase flow,fractalbased reservoir heterogeneity,anomalous diffusion,and pressure-dependent fluid *** is achieved by introducing a new Boltzmann-type transformation,the exponent of which includes reservoir heterogeneity and anomalous *** order to decouple the effects of reservoir heterogeneity and multiphase flow during TLF,the modified Boltzmann variable allows the conversion of three partial differential equations(PdE's)(i.e.,oil,gas and water diffusion equations)into ordinary differential equations(OdE's)that are easily solved using the Runge-Kutta(RK)method.A modified time-power-law plot is also proposed to estimate the reservoir and fracture properties,recognizing that the classical square-root-of-time-plot is no longer valid when various reservoir complexities are exhibited *** the slope of the straight line on the modified time-power-law plot,the linear flow parameter can be estimated with more ***,because of the new Boltzmann-type transformation,reservoir and fracture properties can be derived more efficiently without the need for defining complex pseudo-variable *** the new semi-analytical model,the effects of multiphase flow,reservoir heterogeneity and anomalous diffusion on rate-decline behavior are *** the case of approximately constant flowing pressure,multiphase flow impacts initial oil rate,which is a funct

Rheumatoid synovial fibroblasts were used as an immunogen to produce monoclonal antibodies selected for their reactivity with stromal cell antigens. Mice were immunised with low passage whole cell preparations and the subsequent hybridomas were screened by immunohistochemistry on rheumatoid synovium and tonsil sections. The aim was to identify those antibodies that recognised antigens that were restricted to stromal cells and were not expressed on Cd45 positive leucocytes. A significant number of antibodies detected antigen that identified endothelial cells. These antibodies were further characterised to determine whether the vessels identified by these antibodies were vascular or lymphatic. From five fusions clones were identified with predominant reactivity with: 1) fibroblasts and endothelial cells; or 2) broad stromal elements (fibroblast, endothelium, epithelium, follicular dendritic cells). A fibroblast-specific antibody that did not also identify vessels was not generated. Examples of each reactivity pattern are discussed.

Background Atrial fibrillation （AF） causes a continuum of atrial anatomical remodeling. Methods Using a library of perfusion-fixed human hearts, specimens with AF were compared to controls. during this preliminary assessment study, direct measurements were taken of atrial volume, pulmonary vein （PV） circumference, and left atrial （LA） wall thicknesses. Results Hearts with AF typically had larger atrial volumes, as well as a much larger variation in volume compared to controls （range of 59.6-227.1 mL in AF hearts compared to 65.1-115.9 mL in controls）. For all hearts, right PVs were larger than left PVs （mean： 171.4 ± 84.6 mm^2 for right and 1182 ± 50.1 mm^2 for left, P 〈 0.005）. LA wall thicknesses ranged from 0.7 mm to 3.1 mm for both AF and control hearts. Conclusions Hearts with AF had a large range of sizes which is consistent with the progression of atrial remodeling during AF. The large range of thicknesses will influence the amount of energy needed to create transmural lesions during ablation procedures.
