Trehalose(Tre)is a non-reducing disaccharide found in m.ny species,including bacteria,fungi,invertebrates,yeast,and even plants,where it acts as an osm.protectant,energy source,or protein/m.m.rane *** relatively sm.ll am.unts in plants,Tre concentrations increase following exposure to abiotic ***-6-phosphate,a precursor of Tre,has regulatory functions in sugar m.tabolism.crop production,and stress *** the various abiotic stresses,tem.erature extrem.s(heat or cold stress)are anticipated to im.act crop production worldwide due to ongoing clim.te *** sm.ll am.unts of Tre can m.tigate negative physiological,m.tabolic,and m.lecular responses triggered by tem.erature *** also interacts with other sugars,osm.protectants,am.no acids,and phytohorm.nes to regulate m.tabolic reprogram.ing that underpins tem.erature stress *** plants expressing Tre-synthesis genes accum.late Tre and show im.roved stress ***-wide studies of Tre-encoding genes suggest roles in plant growth,developm.nt,and stress *** review discusses the functions of Tre in m.tigating tem.erature stress—highlighting genetic engineering approaches to m.dify Tre m.tabolism.crosstalk,and interactions with other m.lecules—and in-silico approaches for identifying novel Tre-encoding genes in diverse plant *** consider how this knowledge can be used to develop tem.erature-resilient crops essential for sustainable agriculture.

As an interdisciplinary product,water-soluble gold nanoclusters(AuNCs)stabilized by ligands containing carboxyl(-COOH)group have garnered significant attention from.synthetic chem.sts and biologists due to their im.ense potential for biom.dical ***,revealing the crystallographic structures of-COOH-functionalized AuNCs rem.ins a ***,we successfully applied the salting-out m.thod to obtain a series of high-quality single crystals of-COOH-functionalized Au_(25)nanoclusters and revealed their crystallographic ***,K_(3)Au_(25)(2-Hm.a)_9(m.a)_6]^(-)(Au25a)protected by 2-m.rcaptonicotinic acid features an unprecedented tetram.ric Au_(4)(SR^(S))_(3)(SR^(S,N))_(2)staple m.tifs surrounding the icosahedral Au_(13)kernel,breaking the traditional perception on the structure of Au_(25)(SR)_(18).Au25a exhibits a distinct near-infrared em.ssion at 970 nm.with long lifetim. of 8690 ns,which have been studied by transient absorption spectroscopy and tim.-dependent density functional *** work com.ensates for the research gap in the experim.ntal structure of-COOHfunctionalized AuNCs and opens up a new avenue to explore their structure-property correlations.

Background: Thyroid Eye Disease (TED) is known to alter tissues of the orbital cavity, including the optic nerve. However, its effect on m.asured global Retinal Nerve Fiber Layer (gRNFL) is not well elucidated. This case evaluates the effect of teprotum.m.b on gRNFL in a patient with m.derate TED. Observations: A 60-year-old fem.le with controlled ocular hypertension and m.derate TED received 8 standard IV teprotum.m.b infusions. Com.rehensive ocular evaluations were perform.d pre-, during-, and post-treatm.nt. Bilateral gRNFL thickness decreased (10 m.OD;12 m.OS) at 4 m.nths post-treatm.nt start, persisting at 8 m.nths, but recovered at 20 m.nths. Conclusions and Im.ortance: Teprotum.m.b treatm.nt in patients with TED led to a transient bilateral decrease in gRNFL thickness, which was restored to baseline levels with no adverse events reported. m.nitoring gRNFL changes in teprotum.m.b-treated patients is crucial as gRNFL thinning indicates retinal ganglion cell dam.ge. Teprotum.m.bs ability to dam.en the IGF-IR inflam.atory cascade m.y have reduced retinal inflam.ation, leading to recovery.

m.m. and m.m. are critical regulators of the p53 tum.ur suppressor and are overexpressed in m.ny hum.n m.lignancies. However, in recent years, their im.act on genom. instability was shown to be at least, in part, independent of p53. Both m.m. and m.m. inhibit DNA break repair through their association with the m.ell/RadSO/Nbs1 DNA repair com.lex. Recent evidence indicates that harnessing m.m. and/or m.m.-m.diated inhibition of DNA break repair in cancer cells could provide a therapeutic opportunity, particularly for those m.lignancies that have lost functional p53.

Background Overgrazing was assum.d to increase the population density of sm.ll m.m.als that are the interm.diate hosts of Echinococcus m.ltilocularis, the pathogen of alveolar echinococcosis in the Qinghai Tibet Plateau. This research tested the hypothesis that overgrazing m.ght prom.te Echinococcus m.ltilocularis transm.ssion through increasing populations of sm.ll m.m.al, interm.diate hosts in Tibetan pastoral com.unities. m.thods Grazing practices, sm.ll m.m.al indices and dog Echinococcus m.ltilocularis infection data were collected to analyze the relation between overgrazing and Echinococcus m.ltilocularis transm.ssion using nonparam.tric tests and m.ltiple stepwise logistic regression. Results In the investigated area, raising livestock was a key industry. The com.unal pastures existed and the available forage was deficient for grazing. Open （com.on） pastures were overgrazed and had higher burrow density of sm.ll m.m.als com.ared with neighboring fenced （private） pastures; this high overgrazing pressure on the open pastures m.asured by neighboring fenced area led to higher burrow density of sm.ll m.m.als in open pastures. The m.dian burrow density of sm.ll m.m.als in open pastures was independently associated with nearby canine Echinococcus m.ltilocularis infection （P=-0.003, OR=1.048）. Conclusion Overgrazing m.y prom.te the transm.ssion of Echinococcus m.ltilocularis through increasing the population density of sm.ll m.m.als.
