Endoscopic submucosal dissection vs endoscopic mucosal resection for colorectal polyps:A meta-analysis and metaregression with single arm analysis

BACKGROUND Endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD)has shown to be effective in management of colorectal neoplasm in the Asian countries,while its implementation in Western countries where endoscopic mucosal resection(EMR)is preferred is still *** To compare the surgical,histological,and oncological outcomes between ESD and EMR in the treatment of colorectal polyps,with subgroup analysis comparing the efficacy of ESD and EMR between Japan and the rest of the *** Embase and Medline databases were searched from inception to October 2020 in accordance with PRISMA guidelines for studies comparing en bloc,complete resection,margin involvement,resection time,need for additional surgery,complications,and recurrence rate of ESD with *** Of 281344 colorectal polyps from 21 studies were *** compared to EMR,the pooled analysis revealed ESD was associated with higher en bloc and complete resection rate,and lower lateral margin involvement and *** led to increased procedural time,need for additional surgery,and perforation *** significant difference in bleeding risk was found between the two ***-regression analysis suggested only right colonic polyps correlated with an increased perforation risk in *** including polyp size and invasion depth did not significantly influence the en bloc and complete resection rate,bleeding risk and *** subgroup analysis,Japan performed better than the rest of the world in both ESD and EMR with perforation risk of 4%and 0.0002%,respectively,as compared to perforation risk of 8%and 1%,respectively,in reports coming from rest of the *** ESD resulted in better resection outcomes and lower recurrence compared to *** appropriate training,ESD is preferred over EMR as the first-line therapy for resection of colorectal polyps,without restricting to lesions greater than 20 mm and those with high suspicion of submucosal invasion.

Different position from traditional left lateral for colonoscopy? A meta-analysis and systematic review of randomized control trials

Background: Colonoscopy requires the intubation of the cecum for screening of colorectal diseases. The conventional position used for colonoscopy is the left lateral position (LLP). However, alternative positions have also been utilized to enhance the success of intubation. Thus, the aim of this study was to perform a meta-analysis of the different positions to determine the effectiveness of the individual positions for successful ***: Medline, Embase and Cochrane trials electronic databases were searched for studies on colonoscopy positions. The primary outcome was defined as the cecal intubation rate. Pooled risk ratios (RR) and 95% confidence intervals (CI) for the rates of cecal intubation were estimated. Secondary outcomes such as the cecal intubation time and adenoma detection rate were further analyzed ***: After reviewing 644 identified records, 7 randomized control trials (RCT) studies were included. No significant difference was observed in either comparisons, between the LLP vs. supine position (SP) (RR = 1.01, 95% CI, 0.98 to 1.04,P = 0.55) or the LLP vs. prone position (PP) (RR = 1.02, 95% CI, 0.98 to 1.06,P = 0.27).Conclusions: Amidst available literature, the use of other positions can be considered when performing colonoscopy. These further highlights that the existential practice is based predominantly on familiarity instead of evidence-based-research.

Sintering effect on ageing behavior of rare earths (Pr_6O_(11)-Er_2O_3-Y_2O_3 )-doped ZnO varistor ceramics

The electrical properties and ageing behavior of the rare earths （Pr6O11-Er2O3-Y2O3）-doped ZnO varistor ceramics were systematically investigated at sintering temperature range of 1335-1350°C. With an increase in the sintering temperature, the sintered density increased from 5.41 to 5.64g/cm3 and the average grain size increased from 5.8 to 7.9μm. The varistor properties and ageing behavior were significantly affected by small sintering temperature range of 1335-1350°C. The breakdown field noticeably decreased from 5767 to 3628V/cm with an increase in the sintering temperature. The varistor ceramics exhibited the highest nonlinear coefficient （43.2） at the sintering temperature of 1340°C. The varistor ceramics sintered at 1350°C exhibited a surprisingly excellent stability by exhibiting 0.3% in the variation rate of the breakdown field and 0.3% in the variation rate of the nonlinear coefficient for ageing stress of 0.95 E1mA/150°C/24 h.

Optimal Operation of Turbo Blowers Serially Connected Using Inlet Vanes

Optimal operation of the turbo blowers having an inlet vane has been studied to understand the blowers' operating *** analyze three-dimensional flow field in the turbo blowers serially connected,general analysis code,CFX,is introduced in the present *** turbulence model is employed to estimate the eddy *** the numerical analysis,it is found that the flow rates of the turbo blowers can be controlled at the vane angle between 90 (full open condition) degrees and 60 degrees effectively,because pressure loss rapidly increases below 60 degree of a vane *** also has almost the same values from 90 degrees to 60 degrees of a vane *** is noted that the distorted inlet velocity generated in the small vane angle makes performance deterioration of the turbo blowers due to the local leading edge separation and the following non-uniform blade loading.

Characteristics analysis and library development for piezoelectric transformer to drive a ballast for a 35 W class fluorescent lamp using PSPICE modeling

PSPICE model driven by an electric equivalent circuit of a piezoelectric circuit is presented. In order to confirm this model to be effective, an independent model of cold cathode fluorescent lamp(CCFL) driving circuit is used to conduct simulations, leading to a precise modeling. A library is configured through modeling and its accuracy is verified through simulations for widely used and representative lamps such as CCFL, fluorescent lamps, HID lamps, and electrodeless fluorescent lamps. On the basis of experiments, a lamp simulation is also performed using PSPICE, which allows us to take advantage of the lamp library easily. Also, PSPICE model driven by an electric equivalent circuit of a piezoelectric transformer is presented. In order to confirm this model to be effective, an independent model of CCFL driving circuit is used to conduct simulations, leading to a precise modeling. In addition, a new type of electronic ballast is proposed, which allows 35 W-class(T5-class) fluorescent lamp to work. This system is built by a rectifier which has improved power factor and half-bridge series resonant inverter. Also, with size of 27.5 mm high, 27.5 mm wide and 2.5 mm thick, the produced piezoelectric transformer has a high step-up ratio, through which it is possible for the electric ballast circuit to be lighter, smaller and more efficient. After the produced ballast is used to drive the fluorescent lamp for 25 min, it yields 0.95 in power factor correction, 86% in efficiency, 35.07 W in output voltage and 20.5 °C in temperature increase while meeting the characteristics of the 35 W-class fluorescent lamp.

Nonlinear behavior of Tb_4O_7-modified ZnO-Pr_6O_(11)-based ceramics with high breakdown field

The effect of Tb407 on electrical behavior of the ZnO-Pr6Oll-based varistor ceramics was investigated. Microstructural analysis indicated that the addition of Tb407 decreased average grain size from 3.6 to 3.2 and increased the sintered density from 5.58 to 5.68 g/cm3. As the amount ofTb407 increased, the breakdown field increased from 9393 to 12437 V/cm and the nonlinear coefficient increased from 50 to 65. The varistor ceramics added with 0.5 mol.% in the amount of Tb407 exhibited an excellent stability by exhibiting 0. 1% in the variation rate of the breakdown field, 0% in the variation rate of the nonlinear coefficient, and 8.8% in the variation rate of the leakage current density for DC-accelerated aging stress of 0.85 E1 mA/115 ℃/24 h.

The IOSS Chaos Synchronization Method

A new synchronization method, called the input/output-to-state stable synchronization (IOSSS) method, is proposed for a general class of chaotic systems with external disturbance. By introducing Lyapunov stability theory and linear matrix inequality (LMI) for the first time, the IOSSS controller is shown to not only guarantee the synchronization of the chaotic systems, but also reduce the effect of external disturbance. The proposed IOSSS controller can be obtained by solving the LMI, which can easily be done using standard numerical packages. A numerical example is given to demonstrate the availability of the proposed method.

Sintering effect on electrical properties and pulse aging behavior of(V_2O_5-Mn_3O_4-Er_2O_3 )-doped zinc oxide varistor ceramics

The effect of sintering temperature on microstructure, electrical properties, and pulse aging behavior of （V2O5-Mn3O4-Er2O3）-doped zinc oxide varistor ceramics was systematically studied. When the sintering temperature increased, the average grain size increased from 6.1 to 8.7μm and the sintered density decreased from 5.52 to 5.43 g/cm3. The breakdown field decreased from 3856 to 922 V/cm with an increase in the sintering temperature up to 900 °C, whereas a further increase to 2352 V/cm at 925 °C. The nonlinear coefficient increased pronouncedly from 4.6 to 30.0 with an increase in the sintering temperature. The varistor ceramics sintered at 850 °C exhibited the best clamping characteristics, with the clamp voltage ratio of the range of 2.22-2.88 for pulse current of 1-25 A. The varistor ceramics sintered at 925 °C exhibited the strongest stability, with %ΔE1 mA/cm2=-8.8% after applying the multi-pulse current of 25 A.

Contrast evaluation methods for natural color images in display systems: within- and cross-content evaluations

Contrast evaluation can be used as a criterion to evaluate performance of contrast enhancement algorithms and to compare contrast capability of display systems. This paper deals with contrast evaluation models for natural color images. Two separate models are defined for within- and cross-content evaluations. The former is to differentiate the perceived contrast of the images with the same content. The latter is to discriminate the differences in contrast among the images with different contents. Perception mechanisms are quite different for within- and cross-content evaluations. Local contrast plays an important role in within-content evaluation. In contrast, global contrast dominates the contrast perception for cross-content evaluation. Results of human visual experiments show that the proposed evaluation models outperform previous methods for both within- and cross-content evaluations.
