Stretchable electronics are crucial enablers for next-generation wearables intimately integrated into the human body.As the primary compliant conductors used in these devices,metallic nanostructure/elastomer composites often struggle to form conformal contact with the textured skin.Hybrid electrodes have been consequently developed based on conductive nanocomposite and soft hydrogels to establish seamless skin-device interfaces.However,chemical modifications are typically needed for reliable bonding,which can alter their original properties.To overcome this limitation,this study presents a facile fabrication approach for mechanically interlocked nanocomposite/hydrogel hybrid electrodes.In this physical process,soft microfoams are thermally laminated on silver nanowire nanocomposites as a porous interface,which forms an interpenetrating network with the hydrogel.The microfoam-enabled bonding strategy is generally compatible with various polymers.The resulting interlocked hybrids have a 28-fold improved interfacial toughness compared to directly stacked hybrids.These electrodes achieve firm attachment to the skin and low contact impedance using tissue-adhesive hydrogels.They have been successfully integrated into an epidermal sleeve to distinguish hand gestures by sensing mus-cle contractions.Interlocked nanocomposite/hydrogel hybrids reported here offer a promising platform to combine the benefits of both materials for epidermal devices and systems.

High performance Zn-I_(2)battery with acetonitrile electrolyte working at low temperature

Large scale applications of metal-iodine batteries working at sub-zero degree have been challenged by the limited capacity and performance degradation.Herein,we firstly propose a Zn-I_(2)battery working at low temperature with a carbon composite material/iodine(CCM-I_(2))cathode,a Zn anode and an environmentally tolerable Zn(ClO4)2-ACN electrolyte.The CCM framework with hierarchical porous structure endows a powerful iodine-anchoring to overcome undesirable dissolution of iodine in organic electrolyte,and the Zn(ClO4)2-ACN electrolyte with low freezing point and high ionic conductivity enhances the low temperature performance.The synergies enable an efficiently reversible conversion of Zn-I_(2)battery even at-40℃.Therefore,the resultant Zn-I_(2)battery delivers a high specific capacity of 200 mAh·g^(-1),which is fairly approximate to the theoretical capacity of I_(2)(211 mAh·g^(-1))and a superior cycling stability with minimal capacity fading of 0.00043%per cycle over 7,000 times under 2C at-20℃.Furthermore,even at-40℃,this Zn-I_(2)battery still exhibits a good capacity retention of 68.7%compared to the capacity at 25℃ and a rapid capacity-recover ability with elevating temperature change.Our results distinctly indicate this Zn-I_(2)battery can be 1competent for the practical application under low temperature operation.

嗜酸性粒细胞(Eos)是一种多功能免疫细胞,在外周血循环和组织中均有分布,主要受IL-5和IL-33所诱导产生。Eos与肺癌在内的多种肿瘤存在相互作用,能够通过直接杀伤、免疫调节、促进肿瘤血管正常化等方式发挥抗肿瘤作用,其功能受诱导的细胞因子、所处的肿瘤微环境(TME)、肿瘤的病理类型、作用的时间不同而具有较强的可塑性。免疫检测点抑制剂(ICI)作为一种新兴免疫疗法极大改变了肺癌的治疗模式,然而,目前在临床实践中,仍然缺乏能够较为稳定且有效地预测其疗效和免疫相关不良反应的生物标志物。相较于PD-L1表达水平、肿瘤突变负荷等生物标志物,Eos作为一种常见的循环血细胞具有检测成本低、易获取等优点。有多项研究发现,Eos在肺癌免疫治疗中的特殊改变,且与患者预后和不良反应有一定的相关性。进一步深入开展相关的机制和临床研究后,Eos将具有成为肺癌免疫治疗中有效生物标志物的能力。

A sustainable aqueous Zn-I2 battery

Rechargeable metal-iodine batteries are an emerging attractive electrochemical energy storage technology that combines metallic anodes with halogen cathodes. Such batteries using aqueous electrolytes represent a viable solution for the safety and cost issues associated with organic electrolytes. A hybrid-electrolyte battery architecture has been adopted in a lithium-iodine battery using a solid ceramic membrane that protects the metallic anode from contacting the aqueous electrolyte. Here we demonstrate an eco-friendly, low-cost zinc-iodine battery with an aqueous electrolyte, wherein active I2 is confined in a nanoporous carbon cloth substrate. The electrochemical reaction is confined in the nanopores as a single conversion reaction, thus avoiding the production of I3- intermediates. The cathode architecture fully utilizes the active I2, showing a capacity of 255 mAh·g^-1 and low capacity cycling fading. The battery provides an energy density of -151 Wh·kg^-1 and exhibits an ultrastable cycle life of more than 1,500 cycles.

Association between Genetic Variants of Transforming Growth Factor-β1 and Susceptibility of Pneumoconiosis： A Meta-analysis

Background： Transforming growth factor-beta 1 （TGF-β 1） and gene variants have been extensively studied in various human diseases. For example, TGF-β1 polymorphisms were associated with fibrosis and pneumoconiosis, but the data remained controversial. The aim of this meta-analysis was to assess the association between TGF-β1-509 C〉T [rs 1800469], ＋869 T〉C [rs 1800470], and ＋915 G〉C [rs 1800471 ] polymorphisms and pneumoconiosis, Methods： A comprehensive literature search was conducted through searching in PubMed, Embase, the Chinese Biomedical Database, and the Wei Pu （Chinese） Database by the end of April 2016. Eleven publications with 21 studies were included in this recta-analysis, covering a total of 4333 patients with pneumoconiosis and 3478 controls. Study quality was assessed, and heterogeneity and publication bias were measured. All statistical analyses were performed using STATA version 12.0 （StataCorp, College Station, TX, USA） software. Results： The data showed significant associations between TGF-β1-509 C〉T polymorphism and the risk ofpneumoconiosis development （T vs. C, odds ratio [OR] = 1.35, 95% confidence interval [CI]： 1.00-1.81, P = 0.046）; between TGF-fll ＋915 G〉C polymorphism and the pneumoconiosis risk （C vs. G, OR = 1.69, 95% CI： 1.19-2.40, P = 0.004; CG vs. GG, OR = 1.79, 95% CI： 1.23-2.60, P = 0.002; CC＋CG vs. GG, OR = 1.80, 95% CI： 1.24-2.61, P = 0.002）. In addition, the subgroup analysis of ethnicity versus pneumoconiosis types indicated a significant association of silicosis among Asian populations but not that of coal workers＇ pneumoconiosis in Caucasian populations. In contrast, no significant association was exhibited between TGF-β1 ＋869 T〉C polymorphism and risk ofpneumoconiosis. Conclusion： The polymorphisms of both TGF-β1 -509 C〉T and ＋915 G〉C are associated with increased risk of pneumoconiosis. Salmeterol attenuates the inflammatory response in asthma and decreases the pro-inflammatory cytokine secretion of dendritic cells

Salmeterol is a long-acting β2-agonist that activates adenylate cyclase, causing long-lasting bronchodilation and has been used for many years to control asthma. However, little information is available about the immunoregulatory effects of salmeterol. We found that salmeterol decreases the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines in a model of allergen-challenged mice that expressed tumor-necrosis factor-alpha, interleukin-1 and interleukin-6. Dendritic cells （DCs） are antigen-presenting cells and act as sentinels in the airway. We found that salmeterol （10-s mol/I） reduced the inflammation caused by lipopolysaccharide （0.1 pg/ml） in activated murine bone marrow-derived DCs. Moreover, western blots demonstrated that this protective effect was mediated partially by inhibiting signaling through the nuclear factor-kappa B （NF-κB）, mitogen-activated protein kinase （MAPK） pathways and dramatically decreased levels of p-ERK. We suggest that salmeterol regulates the inflammation of allergen-induced asthma by modulating DCs. In conclusion, we provide evidence that DCs are the target immune cells responsible for the action of salmeterol against asthma.

Apoptosis of Lewis Lung Carcinoma Cells Induced by Microwave via p53 and Proapoptotic Proteins In vivo

Background： Microwave therapy is a minimal invasive procedure and has been employed in clinical practice for the treatment of various types of cancers. However, its therapeutic application in non-small-cell lung cancer and the underlying mechanism remains to be investigated. This study aimed to investigate its effect on Lewis lung carcinoma （LLC） tumor in vivo. Methods： Fifty LLC tumor-bearing C57BL/6 mice were adopted to assess the effect of microwave radiation on the growth and apoptosis of LLC tumor in vivo. These mice were randomly assigned to 10 groups with 5 mice in each group. Five groups were treated by single pulse microwave at different doses for different time, and the other five groups were radiated by multiple-pulse treatment of a single dose. Apoptosis of cancer cells was determined by terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase dUTP nick-end labeling assay. Western blotting was applied to detect the expression of proteins. Results： Single pulse of microwave radiation for 5 min had little effect on the mice. Only 15-min microwave radiation at 30 mW/cm2 significantly increased the mice body temperature （2.20 ± 0.82）℃ as compared with the other groups （0.78 ± 0.29 ℃, 1.24 ± 0.52 ℃, 0.78 ± 0.42 ℃, respectively）, but it did not affect the apoptosis of LLC tumor cells significantly. Continous microwave radiation exposure, single dose microwave radiation once per day for up to seven days, inhibited cell division and induced apoptosis of LLC tumor cells in a dose- and duration-dependent manner. It upregulated the protein levels of p53, Caspase 3, Bax and downregulated Bcl-2 protein. Conclusions： Multiple exposures of LLC-bearing mice to microwave radiation effectively induced tumor cell apoptosis at least partly by upregulating proapoptotic proteins and downregulating antiapoptotic proteins. Continuous radiation at low microwave intensity Ibr a short time per day is promising in treating non-small-cell lung cancer.

TiO_(2)直接还原制备超低氧钛

提出在MgCl_(2)−KCl−YCl_(3)熔盐中,通过熔盐电解产生Mg直接还原TiO_(2)制备低氧钛。绘制Mg−Ti−O三元相图和电位−氧势(φ−pO^(2)−)图,表明镁还原TiO_(2)制备低氧钛是可行的。在MgCl_(2)−YCl_(3)和MgCl_(2)−YCl_(3)−KCl熔盐中,不同温度和施加电压条件下,开展熔盐电解−镁热还原TiO_(2)实验研究,结果表明:借助YOCl沉淀及CO_(x)同步生成,将还原和脱氧产物O^(2)−快速脱除,在1073~1173 K、施加电压2.5~3.1 V的条件下,通过电化学还原可以将TiO_(2)还原为高氧钛(Ti6O)。在温度为1173 K的MgCl_(2)−YCl_(3)熔盐中,开展不同施加电压下的高氧钛电化学脱氧实验。此外,还观察到有可能将高氧钛的氧含量可从1200×10^(−6)降至100×10^(−6)以下。

Belching,regurgitation,chest tightness and dyspnea:Not gastroesophageal reflux disease but asthma

Belching is a common symptom of gastroesophageal reflux disease.If the symptoms are not relieved after anti-reflux treatment,another etiology should be considered.Here,we report a case of a 43-yearold man who presented with belching,regurgitation,chest tightness and dyspnea for 18 mo,which became gradually more severe.Gastroscopic examination suggested superficial gastritis.Twenty-four-houresophageal pH monitoring showed that the Demeester score was 11.4,in the normal range.High-resolution manometry showed that integrated relaxation pressure and intrabolus pressure were higher than normal(20 mm Hg and 22.4 mm Hg,respectively),indicating gastroesophageal junction outflow tract obstruction.Pulmonary function test showed severe obstructive ventilation dysfunction [forced expiratory volume in 1 second(FEV1)/forced vital capacity 32%,FEV1 was 1.21 L,occupying 35% predicted value after salbuterol inhalation],and positive bronchial dilation test(△FEV1 260 m L,△FEV1% 27%).Skin prick test showed Dermatophagoides farinae(++),house dust mite(++++),and shrimp protein(++).Fractional exhaled nitric oxide measurement was 76 ppb.All the symptoms were alleviated completely and pulmonary function increased after combination therapy with corticosteroids and long-acting β2-agonist.Bronchial asthma was eventually diagnosed by laboratory tests and the effect of anti-asthmatic treatment,therefore,physicians,especially the Gastrointestinal physicians,should pay attention to the belching symptoms of asthma.
