The.proximate.analysis showe. the.pre.e.ce.of moisture.conte.t (3.65% - 7.80%), ash conte.t (1.11% - 5.50%), fat conte.t (13.64% - 18.69%), crude.prote.n conte.t (0.167% - 0.202%), crude.fibre.conte.t (1.00% - 9.25%) and carbohydrate.conte.t (63.68% - 79.72%). All e.se.tial e.e.e.ts (Fe.and Zn) inve.tigate. in the.noodle.sample. occurre. within the.thre.hold limit of WHO, (2003) standard (10.00 - 50.00 mg/kg and 5.000 - 22.000 mg/kg) while.the.he.vy me.als (Cd, Cr, Mn, Ni and Pd) in some.sample. occurre. at le.e.s re.ative.y above.the.minimum tole.able.limit of WHO, (2003). This study asse.se. the.iron, zinc and coppe. status of primary school-atte.ding childre. in Lagos. A sample.of 200 primary School-atte.ding childre. was randomly se.e.te. using a stratifie. 2 – stage.sampling te.hnique. Data was colle.te. in the.2 major se.sons in Nige.ia;Dry and Rainy se.sons using die.ary intake.(24 hr die.ary re.all protocol) ve.ipuncture.blood sample., and a se.f-administe.e. que.tionnaire. The.data we.e.analyze. using de.criptive.and infe.e.tial statistics. Among age. 5 - 8 ye.rs, the.main die.ary intake.for iron was 10.66 ± 12.44 mg/d (106% of DRI), for zinc, 7.30 ± 7.39 mg/d (92% of DRI) and for coppe., 1.55 ± 1.31 mg/d (390% of DRI). For age. 9 - 13 yrs, the.me.n intake.of micronutrie.ts showe. that iron was 11.03 ± 12.72 mg/d (138% of DRI), 3inc was 8.44 ± 7.7 mg/d (105% of DRI) and coppe. was 3.75 ± 15.17 mg/d (536% of DRI). Bioche.ical re.ults indicate. that 19.8% of the.subje.ts had inade.uate.se.um iron, 21% and 32.1% we.e.zinc and coppe. de.icie.t re.pe.tive.y pre.ale.ce.of ane.ia was 38.1% while.iron de.icie.cy ane.ia was 13.06% and iron de.icie.cy was 34.6%. Cronobacter sakazakii is an emerging ubiquitous and opportunistic pathogen that currently contaminates a wide spectrum of foods including powdered milk and poses a lethal threat to neonates, the elderly and persons with immune deficiencies. They cause life threatening neonatal meningitis, septicemia, and necrotizing enterocolitis. A total of 360 samples of powdered infant formula were collected from postnatal hospital attendees reconstituting the PIF for their children in the North Central region of Nigeria where cases of infant mortality are very high and presenting as enterocolitis and diarrhea. Pre-enriched samples were cultured in chromogenic Cronobacter broth and were then further sub-cultured into a chromogenic Cronobacter sakazakii agar. They were positive, exhibiting yellowish cultures typical of Cronobacter sakazakii. Biochemical tests of the isolates were also carried out and indicated the presence of Cronobacter sakazakii. The isolates were then characterized molecularly using specie specific PCR detection of Cronobacter sakazakii. The targeted genes of interest were ompA gene and CPA gene. The.purpose.of this study was to find out the.pe.ce.ve. e.fe.ts of FGM （fe.ale.ge.ital mutilation） on ge.de. sports pe.formance. implications to sports administration and manage.e.t in Nige.ia. A total of 250 purposive.y se.e.te. re.ular fe.ale.athle.e. from five.Nige.ian unive.sitie. （two fe.e.al unive.sitie., two state.unive.sitie. and one.private.unive.sity）, in the.south-e.st Ge.political zone.of the.country. A se.f structure. que.tionnaire.with re.iability value.of 0.73. The.te.t-re.e.t me.hod was use. for data colle.tion. Data colle.te. we.e.subje.te. to de.criptive.statistics of fre.ue.cy, pe.ce.tage.and Chi-square.infe.e.tial statistics at 0.05 le.e. of significance. Findings re.e.le. that majority pe.ce.ve. A total of 718 fae.al sample. colle.te. from abattoirs and cattle.he.ds from Abuja, FCT re.re.e.ting 381 from appare.tly he.lthy and 337 from diarrhoe.c cattle.we.e.analyze.. Primary isolation of typical e. coli was done.using e.sin Me.hyle.e.Blue.(e.B) agar and pe.forming bioche.ical te.ts. Sample. we.e.furthe. analyze. using Ce.ixime. Te.lurite.Sorbitol McConke. (CT-SMAC) agar to ide.tify sorbitol and non sorbitol fe.me.ting e. coli.
