The perceptual representation of the prosodic structure of chinese sentences was constructed statistically by using the method of multidimensional scaling analysis on the basis of the result of a discrimination experiment, in which listeners were asked to compare perceptual distances between two adjacent syllables in each of six sentences. Listeners' ability to resolve levels of prosodic hierarchy and the relationship between the prosodic and syntactic structures were discussed in relation to perceptual representations.

This article describes the examination of the spatial ’scaling’ effect of visual attention with the technique of event-related potential (ERP). Eighteen participants were involved in a visual search task in which the cue-target paradigm was used. The search array was three concentric circles consisting of randomly selected English letters that were equally distributed in each circle. The behavioral and ERP data were recorded, respectively. The behavioral results showed that the response time increased and the response accuracy decreased with the increase of precue size. The ERPs amplitude of P1 and N1 components evoked by search array increased with the reduction of precue size. However, the latencies of these ERP components did not show significant differences between conditions. The hierarchical data of both behavioral assessment and ERPs provided evidence for the spatial ’scaling’ effect of visual attention. The amplitudes of P1 and N1 components may be used as indices to examine the effect of spatial ’scaling’. In different tasks, the display-set size of stimuli and the task complexity may be important factors that affect the attention allocation.

本实验分别从运动、照片和“地图”方面对4岁、5岁和6岁儿童在真实空间中的心理旋转及对参照信息的使用等空间表征的发展作了初步考察,结果发现,(1)运动部分客体定位最容易,“地图”部分其次,照片部分最难,(2)心理旋转能力在不同的实验方式下有不同的表现;(3)儿童的自我中心性反应也是相对的,并不一律依存于儿童的年龄,还与客观标记的作用有关。

＜正＞Epistemic Curiosity,the urge for new information,is an emerging construct that can be applied in IT field. The purpose of the present study was to examine the factor structure and factorial invariance of the revised interest/deprivation epistemic curiosity model（I/D EC model） in chinese cohorts of male and female students. The chinese version of the revised I/D EC Scale was administered to 2,653 students from 7 junior high *** factor analysis and multiple-groups confirmatory factor analysis were conducted to assess the structure and the measurement invariance of the *** results showed that a 2-factor model best characterizes the structure of the scale,and a strict invariance appeared to exist across *** practically significant gender differences were found in both I-type EC and D-type EC.

用ＦｏｘＢＡＳＥ语言统计了６７６３个基本汉字集合中的部件和部件组合的频度信息，建立了“部件数据库”和“部件组合数据库”。前者包含５６７个部件；后者包含汉字中实际存在的７５８３个两部件组合。统计结果表明部件和部件组合均呈偏态分布，绝大多数的频率很低。这两个数据库不仅可应用于研究汉字认知中整体和局部的关系、汉字的学习和记忆，而且也可供汉字学的定量研究、中文信息的计算机处理研究参考。

The visual attention mechanism in the brain was studied among16young subjects through the precue-target visual search paradigm using the event-related potentials(ERPs)technique,with the attentive ranges cued with different scales of chinese *** results showed that the response time was shortened as the cue scale was reduced,while the amplitudes of the P1and N1components of the ERPs *** results not only provided the electrophysiological evidence supporting the spotlight theory,but also indicated that the spotlight effect occurred during the early period of the selected *** kinds of separation in the P2effect were *** separation was between the P1effect and P2effect,which meant that additional computation was needed when the spatial scale of attention was enlarged;the other was between the left and right hemisphere of the P2effect,which indicates that the at-tentive processing of the cue range mainly occurred in the left hemisphere.

Positivity Bias of Neutral Schematic Faces

Positivity bias is the tendency to evaluate stimuli positively. In the present study, five experiments were conducted to investigate positivity bias of neutral schematic faces in emotion rating, similarity judgment, and subjective feeling. The results showed that when neutral schematic faces were presented solely, participants tended to evaluate the emotions of faces as neutral. However when the neutral schematic faces were compared with negative or positive ones, they were more similar to the positive than the negative. The results indicated that positivity bias of neutral schematic faces was context-dependent.
