This paper introduces a generic eigenvalue flow of a parameter family of operators, where the corresponding eigenfunction is continuous in parameters. Then the author applies the result to the study of polynomial growth L-harmonic functions. Under the assumption that the operator has some weakly conic structures at infinity which is not necessarily unique, a Harnack type uniform growth estimate is obtained.

We have prepared novel coated particles, with a conductor graphite core and a dielectric TiO2 coating, as the dispersed phase of electrorheological fluids. One order of magnitude enhancement in the shear stress is obtained by using such composite particles, when it is compared with that of TiO2 particles. The experimental results show a way to get excellent ER system.

Ethyl-cyanoethyl cellulose [(E-CE)C]/acrylic acid (AA) becomes a cholesteric liquid crystalline solution withvivid colors when the (E-CE)C concentration is 42 wt%～52 wt%. (E-CE)C/polyacrylic acid (PAA) composites withcholesteric structure were prepared by polymerzing AA in (E-CE)C/AA liquid crystalline solutions. The layers of orderedpolymer chains in the cholesteric phase were inclined during polymerization and the degree of the inclination depended onthe polymerization temperature and the concentration of the solution before polymerization. The cholesteric structure in thecomposites could not be changed when temperature was lower than 100℃. Cross-linking of the PAA in compositesimproved their water-resistance. The cholesteric order of the composites without cross-linking was destroyed when theywhere immersed in water. The color derived from the selective reflection of the cholesteric phase of the cross-linkedcomposites turned from blue to red after the composites absorbed water. The color of the composites could be returned to theoriginal one when the absorbed water was removed from the swollen composites.

This paper analyzes the changing trends of the Lower Yellow River(LYR) transverse profile parameters and their aberrance points by the time series analysis *** results show that there has been a trend of changes in the LYR channel transverse profile parameters since the *** main river channel has a tendency of shrinkage year by year and the trend will be continued in the *** main features of the LYR channel shrinkage are remarkable reductions of bankfull dis-charges and bankfull areas,corresponding decreases of bankfull widths,average bankfull water depths and maximal bankfull water depths,as well as increases of bankfull water levels and width-depth ratios *** discriminant parameters for threshold of the LYR main channel shrinkage were put *** indicates that the LYR main channel began to shrink in the 1970s and has entered into a serious phase of channel shrinkage since the *** incompatible index of discharged water-sediment processes of the Sanmenxia Reservoir was introduced,which revealed that there was a trend of increasing in the incompatibility between water flow and sediment *** relations between the LYR main channel shrinkage parameters and discharged water-sediment processes of the Sanmenxia Reservoir were founded,which indicate that the LYR main channel shrinkage can be mitigated and improved through the regulation of discharged water-sediment processes of the reservoir,especially through the regulation of water-sediment incompatible *** LYR channel for water and sediment transportation can be restored and maintained.

Clear PKIKP precursors were observed from the Lanzhou CTBTO seismic *** measured their incident angles,arriving azimuths and differential travel times with respect to the PKIKP arrivals using array analysis *** measurements allowed us to locate the scatterers that generated the observed *** found that the scatterers are located in the lowermost mantle beneath eastern Tibet,which is featured by a high-velocity anomaly based on previous tomographic *** high velocity anomaly was interpreted as the slab remnants of the ancient Tethys *** thus speculate that the observed scatterers are either related or induced by the subducted slab.

The interfacial structure between the room-temperature ionic liquid, 1-butyl-3-methyl-imidazolium hexafluorophosphate (BMIM+/PF6-) and rutile (110) surface is simulated by classical molecular dynam-ics simulation, aiming to model a crucial constituent of the electrolyte/semiconductor interface. The simulation results show several enhanced layers forming in the interfacial region, especially for the anions. A well ordered double layering structure of the ions is also observed in the interfacial region. The cations are found to organize themselves in a parallel alignment with respect to the TiO2 slab, with an obvious elongation of the side chains.
