In vivo administration of L-arginine at different time points during the course of myocardialischemia and reperfusion（MI/R）has been shown to differentially regulate postischemic *** is one of the most important indexes used to judge the degree of myocardial *** presentstudy attempted to determine whether in vivo administration of L-arginine at different stages of MI/R has adiverse influence on cardiac function of ischemic reperfused hearts and,if so,to investigate the *** adult rats were subjected to 30 min myocardial ischemia followed by 5 h *** L-arginine bolus was given either 10 min before and 50 min after reperfusion（early treatment）or3 h and 4 h after reperfusion（late treatment）.Early treatment with L-arginine markedly increased the leftventricular systolic pressure（LVSP）and dP/dtmax,and decreased myocardial nitrotyrosine *** strictcontrast,late treatment with L-arginine resulted in a significant decrease in LVSP and dP/dtmaxfrom 4 h to 5h after reperfusion,and increase in toxic peroxynitrite formation as measured by *** resultssuggest that the administration of L-arginine at different time points during the course of MI/R leads todiverse effects on cardiac *** supplementation decreased the nitrative stress and improvedleft ventricular ***,late treatment with L-arginine increased the formation of peroxynitriteand aggravated cardiac functional injury.

AIM: To elucidate the relationship between lymph nodesinuses with blood and lymphatic metastasis of gastric ***: Routine autopsy was carried out in the randomlyselected 102 patients (among them 100 patients died ofvarious diseases, and 2 patients died of non-diseasedreasons), their superficial lymph nodes locating in bilateralnecks (include supraclavicle), axilla, inguina, thorax, andabdomen were sampled. Haematoxylin-Eosin staining wasperformed on 10 % formalin-fixed and paraffin-embeddedlymph node tissue sections (Sum). The histological pattemsof the lymph sinuses containing blood were observed underlight microscope. The expression of CD31, a marker forendothelial cell, was detected both in blood and non-bloodcontaining lymph node sinuses with the method ***: Among the 1322 lymph nodes sampled fromthe autopsies of 100 diseased cases, lymph node sinusescontaining blood were found in 809 lymph nodes sampledfrom 91 cases, but couldn't be seen in the lymph nodessampled from the non-diseased cases. According to histology,we divided the blood containing lymph node sinuses intofive categories: vascular-opening sinus, blood-deficient sinus,erythrophago-sinus, blood-abundant sinus, vascular-formative sinus. Immunohistochemical findings showed thatthe expression of CD31 was strongly positive in vascular-formative sinuses and some vascular-opening sinuses whileit was faint in blood-deficient sinuses, erythrophago-sinusesand some vascular-opening sinuses. It was almost negativein blood-abundant sinus and non-blood containing ***: In the state of disease, the phenomenonof blood present in the lymph sinus is not uncommon. Bloodcould possibly enter into the lymph sinuses through thelymphaticovenous communications between the veins andthe sinuses in the node. Both TLR4 and TLR2 participated in the mediation of the inflammatory injury in the process of partial cerebral ischemia/***,it still remains unclear whether a crosstalk exists between TLR2 and TLR4 in ischemic cerebral *** the present study,we investigated the effect of TLR4 signaling on TLR2 expression during mimic cerebral I/R in ***-2 cells were cultured and treated with ischemia/reperfusion,then transfected with the plasmid pEGFP-H1/TLR4-siRNA,the plasmid pEGFP-H1/control sequence-siRNA and the blank plasmid,***,the expression of TLR2 and TLR4 mRNA and protein,NF-κB p65 mRNA and supernatant TNF-α level were significantly higher in ischemia/reperfusion treated cells than those lack of ischemia/reperfusion treatment,and as compared with those in ischemia/reperfusion treated cells without transfection,no significant differences about the above mentioned gene and protein expression were found in the blank plasmid tranfected cells and the plasmid pEGFP-H1/control sequence-siRNA transfected cells respectively,while the expression levels in the plasmid pEGFP-H1/TLR4-siRNA transfected cells were significantly ***,in order to determine the effects of pyrrolidinediethyldithiocarbamate (PDTC),an NF-κB inhibitor,on the TLR4-induced TLR2 expression in BV-2 cells treated with ischemia/reperfusion,it was found that TLR4 and TLR2 mRNA expressions in PDTC pretreated cells were significantly lower in comparison with normal saline pretreated cells and non-pretreated *** data suggested that TLR2 activation,signaled by TLR4 and regulated by NF-κB,might be directly involved play an important role in ischemia/reperfusion induced brain damage.

Purpose : Effects of Tryptergium Wilfordii Polyglycosidium (TWP) on the Tumour Necrosis Factor (TNF) levels in aqueous humor after intraocular lens (IOL) implantation were studied in ***: Twenty-seven pigmented rabbits were divided into three groups. In the first group, the IOL were placed in the capsular bag after lens extraction. In the second group, rabbits received TWP therapy after IOL implantation. And in the third group, rabbit received prednisone therapy after IOL implantation. Aqueous humor samples were aspirated on the 1st, 3rd, 7th, and 14th postoperative day. A modified double antibodies indirect sandwich EL ISA was used to detect for the presence of TNF. The data were closely studied by means of analysis of variance with SAS ***; It was found that TNF level in aqueous humor reached its maximum on the 7th postoperative day in the group with IOL implantation. AIM:To prospectively investigate the association between the XbaⅠpolymorphisms of apolipoprotein B (APOB)gene and gallstone formation following ***:The study was conducted between January 2005 and December 2006.A total of 186 gastric cancer patients who had undergone radical gastrectomy were grouped according to XbaⅠpolymorphisms of APOB gene(X+X-group,n=24 and X-X-group,n =162)and *** XbaⅠpolymorphisms of APOB gene were detected by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism(PCRRFLP).RESULTS:The incidence of gallstone was significantly higher in the X + X-group than in the X-X-group[54.2% vs 9.3%,RR=5.85(2.23-15.32),P3.48±0.88,P=0.004 before surgery and 3.88±1.09 vs 3.40±0.86,P=0.008 after surgery).LDL was 2.21±0.96 vs 1.89±0.84(P =0.042)before surgery and 2.09±0.95 vs 1.72±0.85 (P=0.029)after surgery in the two *** relationship was found between XbaⅠpolymorphisms and gallbladder ***:In Chinese patients after radical gastrectomy,X + allele of APOB gene is another risk factor for the development of gallstone besides the gallbladder motility disorder after surgery.

BACKGROUND: The clinical manifestations of Wernicke encephalopathy(WE) are atypical and short of effective auxiliary examination means. The effects of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in the diagnosis of WE have been reported successively. But its imageological detection needs to be further investigated. OBJECTIVE: To analyze the characteristics of clinical manifestations, skull MRI examination and pathological results in patients with WE. DESIGN: Retrospective analysis. SETTING: The general hospital of Chinese PLA. PARTICIPANTS: Ten patients of WE admitted to the Department of Neurology, general hospital of Chinese PLA were recruited. Among them, five patients were diagnosed pathologically after death. Their pathological changes accorded with the pathological characteristics of WE. The other 5 patients were diagnosed clinically before death. Their pathological changes accorded with clinical and imageological manifestations and had definite reaction to the treatment of thiamine. Ten patients, 7 males and 3 females, were aged (47±13) years ranging from 33 to 73 years. Their disease courses averaged 6 weeks ranging from 3 to 10 weeks. They all were non-alcoholics. Four patients developed WE after acute pancreatitis, two patients after the recurrence of gastric cancer, two patients after cholecystectomy, one patient after hepatitis medicamentosa, one patient after Alzheimer disease. Informed consents were obtained from all the patients and their relatives. METHODS: After admission, clinical manifestations of patients were observed and recorded. Five patients underwent skull MRI examination and their detected results were recorded. Five dead patients underwent autopsy and brain pathological examinations. Neuropathological examination involved cerebrum, cerebellum and brain stem. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Clinical manifestations, MRI examination results, pathological analysis results and prognosis of all the patients. RESULTS: Ten patients with WE were involved in the final
