The short release half-life of carbon monoxide(CO)is a major obstacle to the effective therapeutic use of carbon monoxide-releasing molecule-2(CORM-2).The potential of CORM-2-entrapped ultradeformable liposomes(CORM-2-UDLs)to enhance the release half-life of CO and alleviate skin inflammation was investigated in the present ***-2-UDLs were prepared by using soy phosphatidylcholine to form lipid bilayers and Tween 80 as an edge *** deformability of CORM-2-UDLs was measured and compared with that of conventional liposomes by passing formulations through a filter device at a constant *** release profile of CO from CORM-2-UDLs was evaluated by myoglobin *** vitro and in vivo anti-inflammatory effects of CORM-2-UDLs were assessed in lipopolysaccharide-stimulated macrophages and TPA-induced ear edema model,*** deformability of the optimized CORM-2-UDLs was 2.3 times higher than conventional ***-2-UDLs significantly prolonged the release half-life of CO from 30 s in a CORM-2 solution to 21.6 ***-2-UDLs demonstrated in vitro anti-inflammatory activity by decreasing nitrite production and pro-inflammatory cytokine ***,CORM-2-UDLs successfully ameliorated skin inflammation by reducing ear edema,pathological scores,neutrophil accumulation,and inflammatory cytokines *** results demonstrate that CORM-2-UDLs could be used as promising therapeutics against acute skin inflammation.

The current status of 2D organic–inorganic hybrid perovskites for use in photovoltaic(PV)and light-emitting diode(LED)applications lags far behind their 3D ***,we propose a computational strategy for discovering novel perovskites with as few computing resources as possible.A tandem optimization algorithm consisting of an elitism-reinforced nondominated sorting genetic algorithm(NSGA-II)and a multiobjective Bayesian optimization(MOBO)algorithm was used for density functional theory(DFT)*** DFT-calculated band gap and effective mass were taken as objective functions to be optimized,and the constituent molecules and elements of a Ruddlesden–Popper(RP)structure(n=2)were taken as decision *** previously unknown RP perovskite candidates for PV and LED applications were discovered as a result of the NSGA-II/MOBO ***,more accurate DFT calculations based on the HSE06 exchange correlation functional and ab initio molecular dynamics(AIMD)were conducted for the discovered 2D perovskites to ensure their validity.

Biological tiny structures have been observed on many kinds of surfaces such as lotus leaves,which have an effect on the coloration of Morpho butterflies and enhance the hydrophobicity of natural *** investigated the micro-scale and nano-scale structures on the wing surfaces of insects and found that the hierarchical multiple roughness structures help in enhancing the *** examining 10 orders and 24 species of flying Pterygotan insects,we found that micro-scale and nano-scale structures typically exist on both the upper and lower wing surfaces of flying *** tiny structures such as denticle or setae on the insect wings enhance the hydrophobicity,thereby enabling the wings to be cleaned more *** the hydrophobic insect wings undergo a transition from Cassie to Wenzel states at pitch/size ratio of about *** order to examine the wetting characteristics on a rough surface,a biomimetic surface with micro-scale pillars is fabricated on a silicon wafer, which exhibits the same behavior as the insect wing,with the Cassie-Wenzel transition occurring consistently around a pitch/width value of 20.

The people of the Tibetan Plateau have received extensive attention from scholars because of their unique adaptability to the low temperature and anoxic environments. However, the Tibetan communities and their habitats in the low-altitude regions of the plateau have rarely been studied in a scientific manner. Based on the extraction of geographic information of 197 towns in the Hehuang Valley and on variance analysis, this study examines the habitats and subsistence strategies of the Tibetans and other major ethnic groups in the low-latitude region of the Tibetan Plateau. Our statistical results show that the annual average temperature of Tibetan habitats in the Hehuang Valley is relatively high. The relatively warm environment of the valley allows the Tibetans in that area to cultivate wheat and barley and raise cattle and sheep—a subsistence strategy significantly different from that of other Tibetans in the high-altitude regions in the Tibetan Plateau. In addition, the Tibetan communities in the Hehuang Valley include similar agri-pastoral ethnic groups (including Hui and Salar), both of which adopt similar subsistence strategies. The agricultural ethnic groups (Han and Tu) live in a relatively cool and humid environment facilitating agricultural production, while the agri-pastoral ethnic groups (Tibetan, Hui, and Salar) inhabit relatively warm and arid environment in the valley. Due to the lack of agricultural activities, agri-pastoral groups must also engage in animal husbandry to supplement their diet. In the Ando Tibetan region, the subsistence strategies of the ethnic groups are closely related to their physical *** ethnic groups communicate among themselves, integrate, and influence each other, resulting in a diversified culture. This study proves that the habitat variation at a regional scale corresponds significantly to the variation of subsistence strategies. As personal computers have been recently improved in performance,a multi-tasking of running several applications at the same time has been generalized. Since only one task space is provided for performing such tasks in the Windows operating system,a number of computer users feel *** this paper,we suggest a 3D Virtual Desktop System which can show a process of switching task spaces in 3D motion using DirectX. Our system aims to make up for the weak points in the Windows operating system,and to provide a computer user with more spaces for performing several tasks as well as the intuitive UI(User Interface),such as Compiz of Linux.
