Multi-proxy signature schemes allow the original signer to delegate his/her signing power to n proxy signers such that all proxy signers must corporately generate a valid proxy signature on behalf of the original signer. We first propose a multi-proxy signature scheme based on discrete logarithms and then adapt it to the elliptic curve cryptosystem. With the integration of self-certified public-key systems and the message recovery signature schemes,our proposed schemes have the following advan-tages:(1) They do not require the signing message to be transmitted,since the verifier can recover it from the signature;(2) The authentication of the public keys,verification of the signature,and recovery of the message can be simultaneously carried out in a single logical step;(3) No certificate is needed for validating the public keys. Further,the elliptic curve variant with short key lengths especially suits the cryptographic applications with limited computing power and storage space,e.g.,smart cards. As compared with the previous work that was implemented with the certificate-based public-key systems,the proposed schemes give better performance in terms of communication bandwidth and computation efforts.

This study investigates the impact of the New Rural Cooperative Medical Scheme(NRCMS)on rural households to escape *** employ the instrumental variable method,the IVProbit model,to analyze the national data from the rural-resident field survey by the China Family Panel Studies(CFPS)in *** on the large-scale data,we found that,first,the hospitalization of family members is the key factor in increasing the risk of the family falling into *** NRCMS has significantly reduced the likely risk of falling into ***,the impact of the NRCMS on poverty alleviation varies among groups with different levels of *** is no impact on the upper-middle and high-income groups;in contrast,the NRCMS has substantially improved the capacity of low-income rural families to prevent poverty due to illness,especially for the lower-middle-income ***,there exist significant regional differences in the impact of NRCMS on the health poverty alleviation of rural households in *** NRCMS has successfully reduced the risk of rural households in the western region falling into poverty,simultaneously,no significant impact on those in the eastern and central *** order to diminish and eliminate poverty eventually and boost rural residents'capacity for income acquisition,we propose the following:raise the actual compensation ratio of the NRCMS,control the rising expense of NRCMS by promoting the payment method reform,construct the comprehensive healthcare system in the western region,strengthen the medical security for the poor in remote area,and enhance the living environment for rural residents.

AIM: To investigate whether illness severity has an impact on gastric residual volume (GRV) in medical critically ill patients. METHODS: Medical intensive care unit (ICU) patients requiring nasogastric feeding were enrolled. Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (SOFA) score was assessed immediately preceding the start of the study. Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation (APACHE) Ⅱ scores were recorded on the first, fourth, seventh, and fourteenth day of the study period. GRV was measured every 4 h during enteral feeding. The relationship be-tween mean daily GRV and SOFA scores and the correlation between mean daily GRV and mean APACHE Ⅱ score of all patients were evaluated and compared. RESULTS: Of the 61 patients, 43 patients were survivors and 18 patients were non-survivors. The mean daily GRV increased as SOFA scores increased (P < 0.001, analysis of variance). Mean APACHE Ⅱ scores of all patients correlated with mean daily GRV (P = 0.011, Pearson correlation) during the study period. Patients with decreasing GRV in the first 2 d had better survival than patients without decreasing GRV (P = 0.017, log rank test). CONCLUSION: GRV is higher in more severely ill medical ICU patients. Patients with decreasing GRV had lower ICU mortality than patients without decreasing GRV.
