Incremental algorithm is one of the most popular procedures for constructing Delaunay triangulations （DTs）. However, the point insertion sequence has a great impact on the amount of work needed for the construction of DTs. It affects the time for both point location and structure update, and hence the overall computational time of the triangulation algorithm. In this paper, a simple deterministic insertion sequence is proposed based on the breadth-first-search on a Kd-tree with some minor modifications for better performance. Using parent nodes as search-hints, the proposed insertion sequence proves to be faster and more stable than the Hilbert curve order and biased randomized insertion order （BRIO）, especially for non-uniform point distributions over a wide range of benchmark examples.

More than twenty years of study has provided a better understanding of hepatitis C virus(HCV) life cycle,including the general properties of viral RNA and proteins. This effort facilitates the development of sensitive diagnostic tools and effective antiviraltreatments. At present,serologic screening test is recommended to perform on individuals in the high risk groups and nucleic acid tests are recommended to confirm the active HCV infections. Quantization and genotyping of HCV RNAs are important to determine the optimal duration of anti-viral therapy and predict the likelihood of response. In the early 2000 s,pegylated interferon plus ribavirin became the standard antiHCV treatment. However,this therapy is not ideal. To 2014,boceprevir,telaprevir,simeprevir,sofosbuvir and Harvoni are approved by Food and Drug Administration for the treat of HCV infections. It is likely that the new all-oral,interferon-free,pan-genotyping anti-HCV therapy will be available within the next few years. Majority of HCV infections will be cured by these antiviral treatments. However,not all patients are expected to be cured due to viral resistance and the high cost of antiviral treatments. Thus,an efficient prophylactic vaccine will be the next challenge in the fight against HCV infection.

Hepatitis C virus(HCV)is a major cause of chronic liver diseases,including steatosis,cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma,and its infection is also associated with insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes ***,belonging to the Flaviviridae family,is a small enveloped virus whose positive-stranded RNA genome encoding a *** HCV core protein is cleaved first at residue 191 by the host signal peptidase and further cleaved by the host signal peptide peptidase at about residue 177 to generate the mature core protein(a.a.1-177)and the cleaved peptide(a.a.178-191).Core protein could induce insulin resistance,steatosis and even hepatocellular carcinoma through various *** peptide(a.a.178-191)may play a role in the immune *** polymorphism of this peptide is associated with the cellular lipid drop accumulation,contributing to steatosis *** addition to the conventional open reading frame(ORF),in the+1 frame,an ORF overlaps with the core proteincoding sequence and encodes the alternative reading frame proteins(ARFP or core+1).ARFP/core+1/F protein could enhance hepatocyte growth and may regulate iron *** this review,we briefly summarized the current knowledge regarding the production of different core gene products and their roles in viral pathogenesis.

Two-dimensional (2D) multiferroics have attracted increasing interests in basic science and technological fields in recent ***,most reported 2D magnetic ferroelectrics are based on the d-electron magnetism,which makes them rather rare due to the empirical d^(0) rule and limits their applications for low magnetic phase transition *** this work,we demonstrate that the ferroelectricity can coexist with the p-electron-induced ferromagnetism without the limitation of d^(0) rule and metallicity in a family of stable 2D MXene-analogous oxynitrides,X_(2)NO_(2) (X = In,Tl).Remarkably,the itinerant character of p electrons can lead to the strong ferromagnetic metallic ***,a possible magnetoelectric effect is manifested in a Tl_(2)NO_(2)/WTe_(2) heterostructure through the interface *** findings provide an alternative possible route toward 2D multiferroics and enrich the concept of ferroelectric metals.

We present a study of the spectral line shape associated with a High Resolution Spectrograph on the 2.16 m telescope at the Xinglong Observing Station of National Astronomical Observatories, Chinese Academy of Sciences. This measurement is based on modeling the instrumental line shape obtained by unresolved modes from a Yb-fiber mode-locked laser frequency comb. With the current repetition rate of 250 MHz and 26 GHz mode spacing on the spectrograph, we find the absolute variation of the line center, 0.0597 pixel in the direction of the CCDs, and 0.00275 pixel （～3 m s^-1） for relative variation in successive exposures on a short timescale. A novel double-Gaussian model is presented to improve the quality of the fit by a factor of 2.47 in a typical single exposure. We also use analysis with raw moments and central moments to characterize the change in line shape across the detector. A trend in charge transfer efficiency can be found on the E2V 4096 ×4096 CCD that provides a correction for wavelength calibration aiming to reach a level of precision for radial velocity below 1 m s^- 1.

During ribosome biogenesis,the small subunit(SSU)processome is responsible for 40S *** BMS1/RCL1 complex is a core component of the SSU processome that plays an important role in 18S rRNA processing and *** studies using zebrafish mutants indicate that both Bms1-like(Bms1l)and Rcl1 are essential for digestive organ *** spite of vital functions of this complex,the mutual dependence of these two nucleolar proteins for the stability and function remains *** this study,we identified an RCL1-interacting domain in BMS1,which is conserved in zebrafish and ***,both the protein stability and nucleolar entry of RCL1 depend on its interaction with BMS1,otherwise RCL1 degraded through the ubiquitination-proteasome *** studies revealed that overexpression of RCL1 in BMS1-knockdown cells can partially rescue the defects in 18S rRNA processing and cell proliferation,and hepatocyte-specific overexpression of Rcl1 can resume zebrafish liver development in the bms1l substitution mutant bms1l^(sq163/sq163)but not in the knockout mutant bms1l^(zju1/zju1),which is attributed to the nucleolar entry of Rcl1 in the former *** data demonstrate that BMS1 and RCL1 interaction is essential for not only pre-rRNA processing but also the communication between ribosome biogenesis and cell cycle regulation.

High risk factors of brain metastases in 295 patients with advanced breast cancer

Background The incidence of brain metastases in patients with breast cancer is approximately 10%-16%, and survival after diagnosis of brain metastases is usually short. This study was designed to evaluate the risk factors associated with brain metastases in advanced breast cancer patients, with a view to help predict patient groups with high risk of brain metastases. Methods In total, 295 patients with advanced breast cancer were evaluated. All patients were pathologically confirmed and metastatic lesions were confirmed pathologically or by imaging. All patients were examined at least once every 6 months with head CT or MRI. Patients showing symptoms underwent immediate inspection, and brain metastatic lesions were confirmed by head CT and/or MRI. Results At a median follow-up of 12 months from the occurrence of metastases, brain metastases had occurred in 49 patients （16.6%）. In our univariate analysis, variables significantly related to increased risk of brain metastases were hormone receptor-negative tumors, epidermal growth factor receptor 2 （HER2）-positive tumors, and multiple distant metastases. Patients with dominant tumor sites in soft tissue, or defined as Luminal A subtype, tended to have a lower risk of brain metastases than patients with visceral metastases, Luminal B subtype, triple-negative subtype or HER2-enriched subtype tumors. Conclusions Our results strongly suggest that factors such as Luminal B, triple-negative, and HER2-enriched subtypes are high risk factors for brain metastases. These data, therefore, provide pivotal clinical evidence towards a comprehensive understanding of the risk factors of brain metastases in advanced breast cancer patients.
