Numerous scientists are in the pursuit of energy storage materials with high energy and high power density by assembly of electrochemically active materials into conductive scaffolds,owing to the emerging need for next-generation energy storage *** this architectures,the active materials bonded to the conductive scaffold can provide a robust and free-standing structure,which is crucial to the fabrication of materials with high gravimetric ***,hierarchical copper-cobalt-nickel ternary oxide(CuCoNi-oxide) nanowire arrays grown from copper foam were successfully fabricated as freestanding anode materials for lithium ion batteries(LIBs).CuCoNi-oxide nanowire arrays could provide more active sites owing to the hyperbranched structure,leading to a better specific capacity of 1191 mAh/g,cycle performance of 73% retention in comparison to CuO nanowire structure,which exhibited a specific capacity of 1029 mAh/g and capacity retention of 43%,respectively.

Zr‐Al mixed oxide supported Pt catalysts with different Zr/Al mole ratios（2.5%Pt/ZrxAl（1–x）Oy） were synthesized by an impregnation method and used for the selective hydrogenolysis of glycerol to n‐propanol in an autoclave reactor. The catalysts were fully characterized by X‐ray powder diffrac‐tion, Brunauer‐Emmett‐Teller surface area analysis, CO chemisorption, H2 temperature‐ pro‐grammed reduction, pyridine‐infrared spectroscopy, and NH3‐temperature‐programmed desorp‐tion. The results revealed that the Zr/Al ratio on the support significantly affected the size of the platinum particles and the properties of the acid sites on the catalysts. The catalytic performance was well correlated with the acidic properties of the catalyst; specifically, more acid sites contrib‐uted to the conversion and strong acid sites with a specific intensity contributed to the deep dehy‐dration of glycerol to form n‐propanol. Among the tested catalysts, 2.5 wt% Pt/Zr（0.7）Al（0.3）Oy exhibited excellent selectivity for n‐propanol with 81.2% glycerol conversion at 240 °C and 6.0 MPa H2 pres‐sure when 10% aqueous glycerol solution was used as the substrate. In addition, the effect of vari‐ous reaction parameters, such as H2 content, reaction temperature, reaction time, and number of experimental cycles were studied to determine the optimized reaction conditions and to evaluate the stability of the catalyst.

Urocortin and other hypothalamus corticotropin-releasing factor (CRF) polypeptides play biologically diverse roles in the stress, cardiovascular and inflammatory responses by acting on central and peripheral CRF receptors. Urocortin shows a significantly high sequence homology to CRF, and the concurrent expression of type-2 CRF (CRF2) receptors with urocortin in the heart suggests that urocortin may play a physiological role in the cardiac function. Urocortin is thought to be the endogenous agonist producing the cardiovascular actions previously attributed to CRF. This review highlights the current novel findings on the molecular and cellular mechanisms by which urocortin may exert its cardiovascular protective action.

The determination of nonlinearities near the band edge of organic and polymeric electro-optic(EO)materials is important from the viewpoint of molecular nonlinear optics(NLO)and photonic device *** on transmission-mode Stark effect electromodulation(EM)spectroscopy,we study the electric-field-induced changes in optical absorption and refraction of newly developed EO polymers from the visible to near-infrared(NIR)wavelengths and report record-high near-band-edge complex EO effects from poled thin *** ofΔn andΔk up to 10^(-3) and 10^(-2) are found at an applied electric field of 2.0×10^(5)-3.0×10^(5)V/*** study of linear optical properties of poled films by spectroscopic ellipsometry shows large polinginduced birefringence and a nearly two-fold increase in the extinction coefficients at the extraordinary *** the Kramers-Kronig analysis,we obtained the real and imaginary second-order nonlinear coefficients up to~3,500 and~5,600 pm/V,respectively,which are believed to be the highest NLO coefficients of poled polymers through the resonance *** approach goes beyond the previous works,applicable only to several discrete wavelengths,to a full-spectral analysis with independent verification of slab waveguide *** considering both the electroabsorption and electrorefraction effects,our study overcomes the limitation of the classic qualitative two-level model and provides a quantitative understanding of near-resonance optical nonlinearities of organic EO *** can inspire the exploration of high-speed,absorptive,or phase-shifting light-modulators using EO polymers for on-chip applications.

Graphene oxide(GO)induced enhancement of elastomer properties showed a great deal of potential in recent years,but it is still limited by the barrier of the complicated synthesis ***(SLA),used in fabrication of thermosets and very recently in“flexible”polymers with elastomeric properties,presents itself as simple and user-friendly method for integration of GO into *** this work,it was first time demonstrated that GO loadings can be incorporated into commercial flexible photopolymer resins to successfully fabricate GO/elastomer nanocomposites via readily accessible,consumer-oriented SLA *** material properties of the resulting polymer was characterized and *** mechanical strength,stiffness,and the elongation of the resulting polymer decreased with the addition of *** thermal properties were also adversely affected upon the increase in the GO content based on differential scanning calorimetry and thermogravimetric analysis *** was proposed that the GO agglomerates within the 3D printed composites,can result in significant change in both mechanical and thermal properties of the resulting *** study demonstrated the possibility for the development of the GO/elastomer nanocomposites after the optimization of the GO/“Hexible”photoreactive resin formulation for SLA with suitable annealing process of the composite in future.

Life skill-based training is essential for intellectual disabled individuals to regain autonomy and social *** reality(VR)could deliver a nascent application that is more engaging and *** objective of this study was to evaluate the training effects of the VR-based multiple life skill training program on life skill perfor-mance,self-efficacy,memory,cognitive and behavioral functions via a multicenter randomized controlled trial.A total of 145 intellectual disabled participants were recruited for a randomized controlled trial with three in-tervention arms:VR(n=42);traditional(n=53);and control(n=50).The life skill tasks for the interventions included 1)grocery shopping,2)cooking,and 3)kitchen *** measures were performance scores for the three tasks,self-efficacy scale,digit span score,and Frontal Assessment Battery score,graded by blinded ***-after effects of each group were evaluated using separated Wilcoxon Signed-rank *** sig-nificantly improved cooking,cleaning performance,and memory span,while traditional training significantly improved shopping,cooking,and cleaning *** generalized estimating equation evaluated effects between groups adjusted for age,gender and intelligence quotient(IQ).VR had significantly larger improvement effects in cooking and cleaning than the control group and memory span compared to traditional training and controls *** appeared to be a significant confounder on the training *** work may consider developing artificial intelligence to customize programs depending on IQ level.

Improving Catalytic Stability and Coke Resistance of Ni/Al_(2)O_(3) Catalysts with Ce Promoter for Relatively Low Temperature Dry Reforming of Methane Reaction

A series of Ni catalysts supported on alumina with different Ce contents(1.0%–6.0%,mass fraction)was prepared by the impregnation method and used for dry reforming of methane(DRM)at a relatively low temperature of 650°*** promotion effect of Ce with different loading amounts on the physicochemical properties of the catalysts was systematically characterized by transmission electron microscopy(TEM),X-ray diffraction(XRD),N_(2) adsorption-desorption,thermo elemental IRIS Intrepid inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometer(ICP-AES),UV-visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy(UV-Vis DRS),Fourier transformation infrared(FTIR)spectra,H_(2)-temperature programmed reduction(H_(2)-TPR)analysis,H_(2)-temperature programmed desorption(H_(2)-TPD),and The X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)*** results indicate that all the catalysts mainly exist in the NiAl_(2)O_(4) phase after being calcined at 750°C with small Ni particle sizes due to the strong metal-support interaction derived from the reduction of the NiAl_(2)O_(4) *** Ce-promoted catalysts show better catalytic performance as well as the resistance against sintering of Ni particles and deposition of carbon compared to the Ni/Al_(2)O_(3) *** Ni-6Ce/Al_(2)O_(3) exhibits the best catalytic stability and coke resistance among the four catalysts studied,which is due to its small Ni nanoparticles sizes,excellent reducibility as well as high amount of active oxygen *** a 400 h stability test for DRM reaction at 650°C,Ni-6Ce/Al_(2)O_(3) exhibits less coke deposition and small growth of Ni *** work provides a simple way to preparing the Ni-Ce/Al_(2)O_(3) catalyst with enhanced catalytic performance in *** Ni-6Ce/Al_(2)O_(3) catalyst has great potential for industrial application due to its anti-sintering ability and resistance to carbon deposition.

Insufficient insulin production or action in diabetic states is associated with growth retardation and impaired bone healing, while the underling mechanisms are unknown. In this study, we sought to define the role of insulin signaling in the growth plate. Insulin treatment of embryonic metatarsal bones from wild-type mice increased chondrocyte proliferation. Mice lacking insulin receptor （IR） selectively in chondrocytes （CartIR-/-） had no discernable differences in total femoral length compared to control littermates. However, CartIR-/- mice exhibited an increase in chondrocyte numbers in the growth plate than that of the controls. Chondrocytes lacking IR had elevated insulin-like growth factor （IGF）-IR mRNA and protein levels. Subsequently, IGF-1 induced phosphorylafion of Akt and ERK was enhanced, while this action was eliminated when the cells were treated with IGF-1R inhibitor Picropodophyllin. Deletion of the IR impaired chondrogenic differentiation, and the effect could not be restored by treatment of insulin, but partially rescued by IGF-1 treatment. Intriguingly, the size of hypertrophic chondrocytes was smaller in CartIR-/- mice when compared with that of the control littermates, which was associated with upregnlation of tuberous sclerosis complex 2 （TSC2）. These results suggest that deletion of the IR in chondrocytes sensitizes IGF-1R signaling and action, IR and IGF-1R coordinate to regulate the proliferation, differentiation and hypertrophy of growth plate chondrocytes.

All-inorganic CsPbIBr_(2) perovskite has attracted widespread attention in photovoltaic and other optoelectronic devices because of its superior thermal ***,the deposition of high-quality solutionprocessed CsPbIBr_(2) perovskite films with large thicknesses remains ***,we develop a triple-component precursor(TCP) by employing lead bromide,lead iodide,and cesium bromide,to replace the most commonly used double-component precursor(DCP) consisting of lead bromide and cesium ***,the TCP system significantly increases the solution concentration to 1.3 M,leading to a larger film thickness(~390 nm) and enhanced light *** resultant CsPbIBr_(2) films were evaluated in planar n-i-p structured solar cells,which exhibit a considerably higher optimal photocurrent density of 11.50 mA cm^(-2) in comparison to that of DCP-based devices(10.69 mA cm^(-2)).By adopting an organic surface passivator,the maximum device efficiency using TCP is further boosted to a record efficiency of 12.8% for CsPbIBr_(2) perovskite solar cells.
