Two-photon optogenetics has become an indispensable technology in neuroscience,due to its capability in precise and specific manipulation of neural activities.A scanless holographic approach is generally adopted to meet the requirement of stimulating neural ensembles ***,the commonly used disk patterns fail in achieving single-neuron resolution,especially in axial dimension,and their inherent speckles decrease stimulation ***,we propose a novel speckle-free,beaded-ring pattern for high-axial-resolution optical stimulation of neurons in *** a dye pool and a fluorescent thin film as samples,we verify that,compared to those with disk patterns,higher axial resolution and better localization ability can be achieved with beaded-ring ***,we perform two-photon based all-optical physiology with neurons in mouse S1 cortex in vivo,and demonstrate that the axial resolution obtained by beaded-ring patterns can be improved by 24%when stimulating multiple neurons,compared to that of disk patterns.

Corneal neuromas,also termed microneuromas,refer to microscopic,irregula rly-shaped enlargements of terminal subbasal nerve endings at sites of nerve damage or *** formation of corneal neuromas results from damage to corneal nerves,such as following corneal pathology or corneal or intraocular surge ***,denervated areas of sensory nerve fibers become invaded by sprouts of intact sensory nerve fibers,and later injured axons regenerate and new sprouts called neuromas *** recent years,analysis of corneal nerve abnormalities including corneal neuromas which can be identified using in vivo confocal microscopy,a non-invasive imaging technique with microscopic resolution,has been used to evaluate corneal neuropathy and ocular surface *** neuromas have been shown to be associated with clinical symptoms of discomfort and dryness of eyes,and are a promising surrogate biomarker for ocular surface diseases,such as neuropathic corneal pain,dry eye disease,diabetic corneal neuropathy,neurotrophic keratopathy,Sjogren's syndrome,bullous keratopathy,post-refra ctive surgery,and *** this review,we have summarized the current literature on the association between these ocular surface diseases and the presentation of corneal microneuromas,as well as elaborated on their pathogenesis,visualization via in vivo confocal microscopy,and utility in monitoring treatment *** current quantitative analysis on neuromas mainly relies on manual annotation and quantification,which is user-dependent and labor-intensive,future direction includes the development of artificial intelligence software to identify and quantify these potential imaging biomarkers in a more automated and sensitive manner,allowing it to be applied in clinical settings more *** imaging and molecular biomarkers may also help elucidate the associations between corneal neuromas and ocular surface diseases.

This study investigates the location choice performance of foreign direct investment （FD1） originating from small- and medium-sized multinational enterprises established in newly industrialized economies. In this study we integrate location diversification, breadth and corporate governance to examine the performance of Taiwan Residents enterprises investing in chinese mainland. Examining Taiwan Residents manufacturing enterprises from foundational, traditional and high-technology aspects, our findings demonstrate the following：（i） diversifying the location choice negatively affects the return of assets; （ii） investments in regions with an abundant population positively affect the performance of Taiwan Residents traditional manufacturing enterprises; and （iii） a higher percentage of insider hoMings in Taiwan Residents enterprises results in better FDl performance. We conclude that the performance of FDI originating from Taiwan Residents enterprises varies depending on industrial and governance characteristics. We suggest that the location choice for Taiwan FDI in chinese mainland should be determined by the characteristics of the industry. chinese mainland should attract multinational enterprises from emerging markets according to the characteristics of regions.

This article provides commentary on the article by Zhang et *** this original research,Zhang et al investigated the therapeutic potential of teneligliptin for diabetic cardiomyopathy(DCM),which was mediated by targeting the NOD-like receptor protein 3(NLRP3)*** the use of both in vivo and in vitro models,the study demonstrated that teneligliptin alleviates cardiac hyper-trophy,reduces myocardial injury,and mitigates the inflammatory responses as-sociated with *** findings suggest that teneligliptin’s cardioprotective effects are mediated through the inhibition of NLRP3 inflammasome activation,positioning it as a promising therapeutic option for managing DCM in diabetic patients.

Ingested fish bone induced intestinal perforations are seldom diagnosed preoperatively due to incomplete patient history taking and difficulties in image evidence *** literature suggests early surgical intervention to prevent sepsis and complications resulting from fish bone *** report the case of a 44-year-old man suffered from acute abdomen induced by a fish bone *** diagnosis was supported by computed tomography(CT) imaging of fish bone lodged in distal ileum and a history of fish ingestion recalled by the *** treatment was elected to manage the patient's condition instead of surgical *** treatment resulted in a complete resolution of abdominal pain on hospital day number 4 without *** affecting clinical treatment decisions include the nature of microperforation,the patient's good overall health condition,and the early diagnosis before sepsis signs ***-perforation means the puncture of intestine wall without CT evidence of free air,purulent peritoneum or *** subsequently reviewed the literature to support our decision to pursue medical instead of surgical intervention.

In history,semiconductor-metal-semiconductor transistor(SMST)was proposed for frequency ***,a general fabrication method is still missing due to the unsolved technological problem of deposition of a general crystalline semiconductor on metal,and a thinner metal base is also difficult to be fabricated with high ***,due to the atomic thickness of graphene,the concept of semiconductor-graphene-semiconductor transistor(SGST)has emerged which leads to the renaissance of SMST,however the experimental study is in its *** this letter,SMST and SGST are fabricated using Si membrane *** is found the common base current gain can be improved from about 0.5%in a Si-Au-Si transistor to about 1%in a Si-Gr-Ge one,and to above 10%in a Si-Gr-Si one,which is attributed to both the ultra-thin thickness and the quantum capacitance effect of graphene.

An introgression line RBPH660,derived from wild rice Oryza rufipogon,showed stable resistance to brown planthopper(BPH).Segregation analysis indicated BPH resistance of RBPH660 was controlled by multiple genes/*** using the bulked segregant analysis(BSA)-seq method,two genomic regions harboring QTLs resistance to BPH were identified from 1.20 to 16.70 Mb on chromosome 4 and from 10.20 to 12.60 Mb on chromosome 9 in RBPH660,respectively.A major resistance locus,designated as Bph35 accounting for 51.27%of the phenotypic variation with a LOD score of 42.51,was mapped to the candidate region of chromosome 4 between In Del(insertion-deletion)markers PSM16 and R4 *** fine mapping of Bph35,one simple sequence repeat and three newly developed In Del markers were used to screen the ***,the Bph35 locus was delimited in the region from 6.28 to 6.93 Mb and there were 18 predicted protein-encoding genes with a total of 114 non-synonymous single nucleotide polymorphism(SNP)variant sites between the resistant and susceptible *** of these genes,Os04 g0193950,encoding a putative NB-ARC(nucleotidebinding adaptor shared by APAF-1,R proteins and CED-4)and LRR(leucine-rich repeat)domain protein with nine non-synonymous SNP substitutions in its coding sequence regions,might be the candidate gene for *** findings would facilitate the map-based cloning of the Bph35 gene and development of resistant varieties against BPH in rice.

To maximize signal collection in nonlinear optical microscopy,non-descanned epi-detection is generally adopted for in vivo ***,because of severe scattering in biological samples,most of the emitted fluorescence photons go beyond the collection angles of objectives and thus cannot be ***,we propose an extended detection scheme to enhance the collection of scattered photons in nonlinear fluorescence microscopy using a silicon photomultiplier array ahead of the front apertures of *** perform numerical simulations to demonstrate the enhanced fluorescence collection via extended epi-detection in the multi-photon fluorescence imaging of human skin and mouse brain through craniotomy windows and intact *** example,with red fluorescence emission at a depth of 600μm in human skin,the increased collection can be as much as about 150%with a 10×,0.6-NA *** show that extended epi-detection is a generally applicable,feasible technique for use in nonlinear fluorescence microscopy to enhance signal detection.

Objective To compare the clinical effect of arsenic-containing Qinghuang Powder(QHP)and low-intensity chemotherapy(LIC)in treatment of elderly acute myeloid leukemia(eAML)*** Clinical data of 80 eAML patients treated at Xiyuan Hospital of china Academy of chinese Medical Sciences from January 2015 to December 2020 were retrospectively *** treatment scheme was designed by real world study according to patients’preference,and patients were divided into a QHP group(35 cases)and a LIC group(45 cases).The median overall survival(mOS),1-,2-,and 3-year OS rates,and incidence of adverse events were compared between the two *** The mOS of 80 patients was 11 months,and the 1-,2-,and 3-year OS rates were 45.51%,17.96%,and 11.05%,*** QHP and LIC groups demonstrated no significant difference in mOS(12 months vs.10 months),1-(48.57%vs.39.65%),2-(11.43%vs.20.04%),and 3-year OS rates(5.71%vs.13.27%,all P>0.05).Moreover,the related factors of mOS demonstrated no significant difference in patients with age>75 years(11 months vs.8 months),secondary AML(11 months vs.8 months),poor genetic prognosis(9 months vs.7 months),Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group performance status score≥(10 months vs.7 months)and hematopoietic stem cell transplant comorbidity index≥4(11 months vs.7 months)between the QHP and LIC groups(all P>0.05).However,the incidence of myelosuppression was significantly lower in the QHP group than that in the LIC group(28.57%vs.73.33%,P<0.01).Conclusions QHP and LIC had similar survival rates in eAML patients,but QHP had a lower myelosuppression ***,QHP can be an alternative for eAML patients who do not tolerate LIC.

AIM: To investigate whether the non-invasive real-time Indocynine green (ICG) clearance is a sensitive index of liver viability in patients before, during, and after liver ***: Thirteen patients were studied, two before,three during, and eight following liver transplantation, with two patients suffering acute rejection. The conventional invasive ICG clearance test and ICG pulse spectrophotometry non-invasive real-time ICG clearance test were performed simultaneously. Using linear regression analysis we tested the correlation between these two methods. The transplantation condition of these patients and serum total bilirubin (T. Bil), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), and platelet count were also ***: ICG pulse spectrophotometry clearance is a quick, non-invasive, and reliable liver function test in transplantation patients.
