BACKGROUND Appendiceal mucinous neoplasms(AMNs),although not classified as rare,are relatively uncommon tumors most often discovered incidentally during colorectal *** identification of AMNs is difficult due to non-specific sym-ptoms,overlapping tumor markers with other conditions,and the potential for *** underscores the urgent need for precision in diagnosis to pre-vent severe *** sUMMARY This case report describes the unexpected discovery and treatment of a low-grade AMN(LAMN)in a 74-year-old man undergoing laparoscopic hemicolectomy for transverse colon adenocarcinoma(AC).Preoperatively,non-specific gastroin-testinal symptoms and elevated tumor markers masked the presence of *** tumor,presumed to be an AMN peritoneal cyst intraoperatively,was con-firmed as LAMN through histopathological *** neoplasm exhibited mucin accumulation and a distinct immunohistochemical profile:Positive for Ho-meobox protein CDX-2,Cytokeratin 20,special AT-rich sequence-binding protein 2,and Mucin 2 but negative for cytokeratin 7 and Paired box gene *** profile aids in distinguishing appendiceal and ovarian mucinous *** recovery was uncomplicated,and the patient initiated adjuvant chemotherapy for the colon *** This case highlights the diagnostic complexity of AMNs,emphasizing the need for vigilant identification to avert potential complications,such as pseudomyxoma peritonei.

Androgenetic alopecia(AGA)is a chronic and progressive form of hair loss characterized by vascular degeneration in the perifollicular microenvironment,leading to cell apoptosis and eventual loss of hair follicles(HFs).Traditional therapeutic formulations,such as Minoxidil(MXD)tincture,have limitations in reshaping the perifollicular microenvironment and exhibit limited ***,we report a multi-synergistic therapeutic platform for high-performance hair regeneration *** platform combines microneedle(MN)patches loaded with MXD-encapsulated nanostructured lipid carriers(MXD-NLC-MNs)and cold atmospheric plasma(CAP).The MNs’mechanical strength enables efficient transdermal delivery of MXD to the targeted dermal papilla cells,promoting cell ***,in collaboration with MXD,the mechanical stimulation exerted by MN application synergistically upregulates the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor,leading to ***,the transient microchannels in the skin created by MNs facilitate the transdermal delivery of CAPgenerated nitric oxide(NO)to the sites of HF lesions,whereby the synergistic interaction between MXD and NO boosts perifollicular ***,the perifollicular microenvironment can be effectively reshaped to accelerate hair regeneration in AGA murine *** multi-synergistic combination therapy strategy would hold great promise for effectively treating AGA and promoting hair regrowth.

ATP6AP2,a regulator of LRP6/β-catenin protein trafficking,promotes Wnt/β-catenin signaling and bone formation in a cell type dependent manner

Wnt/β-catenin signaling is critical for various cellular processes in multiple cell types,including osteoblast(OB)differentiation and *** how Wnt/β-catenin signaling is regulated in OBs remain ***6AP2,an accessory subunit of V-ATPase,plays important roles in multiple cell types/organs and multiple signaling ***,little is known whether and how ATP6AP2 in OBs regulates Wnt/β-catenin signaling and bone *** we provide evidence for ATP6AP2 in the OB-lineage cells to promote OB-mediated bone formation and bone homeostasis selectively in the trabecular bone *** knocking out(CKO)ATP6AP2 in the OB-lineage cells(Atp6ap2^(Ocn-Cre))reduced trabecular,but not cortical,bone formation and bone *** and cellular biochemical studies revealed that LRP6 and N-cadherin were reduced in ATP6AP2-KO BMsCs and OBs,but not *** in vitro and in vivo studies revealed impairedβ-catenin signaling in ATP6AP2-KO BMsCs and OBs,but not osteocytes,under both basal and Wnt stimulated conditions,although LRP5 was decreased in ATP6AP2-KO osteocytes,but not *** cell biological studies uncovered that osteoblastic ATP6AP2 is not required for Wnt3a suppression ofβ-catenin phosphorylation,but necessary for LRP6/β-catenin and N-cadherin/β-catenin protein complex distribution at the cell membrane,thus preventing their *** of activeβ-catenin diminished the OB differentiation deficit in ATP6AP2-KO *** together,these results support the view for ATP6AP2 as a critical regulator of both LRP6 and N-cadherin protein trafficking and stability,and thus regulatingβ-catenin levels,demonstrating an un-recognized function of osteoblastic ATP6AP2 in promoting Wnt/LRP6/β-catenin signaling and trabecular bone formation.

Fully endoscopic far-lateral supracerebellar infratentorial approach for trigeminal neuralgia: illustrative case reports

Background Trigeminal neuralgia (TN) is a common cause of craniofacial pain. The retrosigmoid approach is usually used to treat TN, but no cases of endoscopic far-lateral supracerebellar infratentorial approach (EF-sCITA) were used to undergo operation for *** presentation Two patients were presented with severe facial pain and preliminary diagnosis was TN. Preoperative magnetic resonance imaging revealed that a superior cerebellar artery (sCA) compressed the trigeminal nerve in case 1, and a tumor located in the petrous apex extending into the Meckel’s cave compressed the trigeminal nerve in case 2. Operations were achieved through the EF-sCITA. The pain was totally relieved with no postsurgical complications in both *** We present the first two case reports of EF-sCITA to relieve classical and secondary TN successfully. The EF-sCITA can be a promis.ng approach for treating TN.

Targeted regeneration and upcycling of spent graphite by defect‐driven tin nucleation

The recycling of spent batteries has become increas.ngly important owing to their wide applications,abundant raw material supply,and sustainable *** with the degraded cathode,spent anode graphite often has a relatively intact structure with few defects after long ***,most spent graphite is simply burned or discarded due to its limited value and inferior performance on us.ng conventional recycling methods that are complex,have low efficiency,and fail in performance ***,we propose a fast,efficient,and“intelligent”strategy to regenerate and upcycle spent graphite based on defect‐driven targeted *** sn as a nanoscale healant,we used rapid heating(~50 ms)to enable dynamic sn droplets to automatically nucleate around the surface defects on the graphite upon cooling owing to strong binding to the defects(~5.84 eV/atom),thus simultaneously achieving sn dispersion and graphite *** a result,the regenerated graphite showed enhanced capacity and cycle stability(458.9 mAh g^(−1) at 0.2 A g^(−1) after 100 cycles),superior to those of commercial *** from the self‐adaption of sn dispersion,spent graphite with different degrees of defects can be regenerated to similar structures and *** analysis indicates that targeted regeneration and upcycling have significantly lower energy consumption(~99%reduction)and near‐zero CO_(2) emission,and yield much higher profit than hydrometallurgy,which opens a new avenue for direct upcycling of spend graphite in an efficient,green,and profitable manner for sustainable battery manufacture.

Recently,the chemiluminescence(CL)induced by carbon nanodots(CDs)has intrigued researchers’extensive interests in various applications due to its special light emission ***,the difficulty of synthesizing chemiluminescent CDs with full-spectrum emission severely hinders the further regulation of the CL emission ***,the multi-color-emissive chemiluminescent CDs are rational designed and further synthesized by regulating the sp2-hybrid core and sp3-hybrid surface from the citrate-ammonia molecular in a s.ngle solvothermal *** experimental characterizations and density functional theory calculations reveal that the higher temperature can promote the crosslinking polymerization/carbonization of carbon core and the higher protonation of solvent can determine the core size of final CDs,resulting in the variant CL emission from molecular-,crosslinking-and ***,the CL emission of the CDs can be further synthesized by tuning the luminescence chromophores in the formation process via regulating the temperature and solvent,enabling the applications of the CL CDs in illumination and information *** study paves a new technology to understand the luminescence of CDs and affords an industry translational potential over traditional chemiluminescent molecular.

Wearable electromagnetic interference(EMI)shielding fabrics with excellent electromagnetic shielding performance,oxidation resistance,and structural stability are highly demanded for the rapid development of electronic devices and wireless *** are metallic conductive materials with exceptional EMI shielding properties,but they are prone to oxidation in air and have poor structural stability and durability on fabric ***,we present a one-step assembly method to fabricate fabrics coated with MXenes and polymeric sodium alginate(sA)composite(MXene-sA).sA protects MXenes from oxidation and forms a stable interlayer structure by bonding to *** MXene-sA coated fabrics are breathable and flexible,and have a low sheet resistance of 2.12±0.08Ω/sq and a high EMI shielding performance of 37.05 dB at X-band,which is comparable to the best 42.31 ***,the MXene-sA coated fabrics exhibit high structural stability and oxidation resistance under various conditions of sonication disintegration,mechanical abuse,chemical corrosion,and humidity,compared to pure MXenes coated *** believe that the wearable and high-performance MXene-sA fabrics have great potential for the next generation of ultra-portable and wearable EMI shielding products.
