Chemo-photothermal treatment is one of the most efficient strategies for cancer ***,traditional drug carriers without near-infrared absorption capacity need to be loaded with materials behaving photothermal properties,as it results in complicated synthesis process,inefficient photothermal effects and hindered NIR-mediated drug *** we report a facile synthesis of a polyethylene glycol(PEG)linked liposome(PEG-liposomes)coated doxorubicin(DOX)-loaded ordered mesoporous carbon(OMC)nanocomponents(PEG-LIP@OMC/DOX)by simply sonicating DOX and OMC in PEG-liposomes *** as-obtained PEG-LIP@OMC/DOX exhibits a nanoscale size(600±15 nm),a negative surface potential(-36.70 mV),high drug loading(131.590 mg/g OMC),and excellent photothermal *** PEG-LIP@OMC/DOX can deliver loaded DOX to human MCF-7 breast cancer cells(MCF-7)and the cell toxicity viability shows that DOX unloaded PEG-LIP@OMC has no cytotoxicity,confirming the PEG-LIP@OMC itself has excellent *** NIR-triggered release studies demonstrate that this NIR-responsive drug delivery system enables on-demand drug ***,cell viability results using human MCF-7 cells demonstrated that the combination of NIR-based hyperthermal therapy and triggered chemothe rapy can provide higher therapeutic efficacy than re spective monothe *** these excellent features,we believe that this phospholipid coating based multifunctional delivery system strategy should promote the application of OMC in nanomedical applications.

We have experimentally offset-locked the frequencies of two lasers using electromagnetically induced transparency（EIT） spectroscopy of ^（85）Rb vapor with a buffer gas in a magnetic field at room temperature. The magnetic field is generated by a permanent magnet mounted on a translation stage and its field magnitude can be varied by adjusting the distance between the magnet and Rb cell, which maps the laser locking frequency to the space position of the magnet. This frequency-space mapping technique provides an unambiguous daily laser frequency detuning operation with high accuracy.A repeatability of less than 0.5 MHz is achieved with the locking frequency detuned up to 184 MHz when the magnetic field varies from 0 up to 80 G.

Objective:To investigate the effects of puerarin on the activity of superoxide dismutase(SOD), and expressions of advanced glycation end-product(AGE) receptor(RAGE) and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) in retinas of streptozotocin(STZ)-induced early diabetic rats. Methods:Diabetic rat models were established by inducing diabetes via intra-peritoneal injection of *** were randomly divided into normal(control),diabetic(DM),and DM+ puerarin *** intra-gastric administration of puerarin(500 mg/kg/day for 4 weeks),levels of SOD and malondialdehyde(MDA) were determined in serum and *** and protein expression levels of RAGE and VEGF in retinas were determined by real-lime polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)(mRNA) and Western blot analysis(protein levels).Results:There was significantly lower SOD activity and significantly higher MDA in serum and retinas of the DM group compared with the two other groups(P<0.05).After treatment with puerarin,SOD activity increased and MDA content decreased in this group(P<0.05).mRNA and protein expression levels of RACE and VECF in the DM group were significantly higher than those of the other groups (P<0.05),and decreased after puerarin treatment(P<0.05).Conclusions:Puerarin is able to enhance SOD activity,and inhibit RAGE and VEGF expressions in retinas of STZ-induced early diabetic ruts.

Elevated levels of the total dissolved gas (TDG) may occur downstream the dams during the spill process to increase the incidence of the gas bubble disease for fish. With increasing numbers of cascade hydropower stations being constructed or planned, the cumulative effects of the TDG supersaturation become an increasingly prominent issue. Previous studies of the supersaturated TDG mainly focused on the generation process in the stilling basin downstream the dam while ignoring the saturation changes during the jet breakup process by assuming a 100% plunge-in-level. This assumption may lead to errors in the TDG generation predictions and the scientific assessments of the TDG supersaturation. Therefore, in this paper, physical experiments are conducted to analyze the dissipation of the supersaturated TDG in the jet breakup process, and to establish a quantitative relation between the initial TDG level and the detention time of the jet in the air. These results indicate how the supersaturated TDG generated by an upstream dam affects the TDG generation and provide a scientific support for accurate predictions of the supersaturated TDG generation for high dam spills.
