Osteoblasts are essential in the maintenance of human bone homeostasis.1 The abnormal formation and impaired differentiation ability of osteoblasts are pivotal factors leading to bone-related diseases,suggesting that an indepth study of osteoblasts can provide novel treatment strategies for these diseases.2 Human primary osteoblasts are precious experimental models in bone-related research.3 However,the isolation and culture of human primary osteoblasts still have some difficulties and ***,we refined a method to isolate and culture human primary osteoblasts by taking cancellous bone through a bone tissue sampler and pre-digesting it with pancreatin,which makes the process easier,cheaper,and more ***,we compared the effects of the subtle changes in isolation and culture methods on the phenotype of human primary osteoblasts and examined the differences in morphology,proliferation,and differentiation between micro-explants cultured osteoblasts(MECOBs)and explants cultured osteoblasts(EC-OBs).

Exfoliation corrosion(EFC)has rarely been reported for wrought magnesium *** EFC of the as-extruded Mg–1Li–1Ca alloy was observed after the removal of outermost fine-grained *** microstructure and corrosion products were investigated using optical microscopy,scanning electron microscopy,electron backscattered diffraction,X-ray diffraction,and Fourier transform infrared *** corrosion behavior was analyzed using electrochemical polarization,electrochemical impedance spectroscopy,and scanning Kelvin probe *** results indicated that the surface of Mg–1Li–1Ca,with the superficial layer removed,was more susceptible to EFC.A linear correlation between grain boundary density and corrosion resistance was ***,the influence of factors such as grain size,intermetallic compounds,different alloy surfaces,and corrosion products on EFC were discussed,and the corresponding EFC mechanism was clarified.

It is a challenging task to prepare a coating on Mg alloys for desirable corrosion resistance,good antibac-terial ability and *** this research work,an in-situ Mg(OH)_(2)coating incorporated with sodium alginate(SA)andβ-cyclodextrin(β-CD)@curcumin(Cur)was formed on the surface of micro arc oxidation(MAO)coated AZ31 alloy via a low temperature hydrothermal *** tech-niques such as X-ray diffraction(XRD),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),Fourier transform infrared spectrometer(FT-IR)and scanning electron microscope(SEM)were employed to characterize the chemi-cal composition and surface morphology of the *** corrosion protection ability of the coatings was monitored via electrochemical polarization,hydrogen evolution and immersion *** antibacterial ability and cytocompatibility of the coatings were evaluated by plate counting method under the irradiation of 808 nm-near infrared light,in vitro cytotoxicity tests(MTT)and live/dead cell *** results indicate that a chelation of the organic molecules led to the formation of a MAO/(β-CD@Cur)-SA-Mg(OH)_(2)coating with excellent corrosion protection,multi-antibacterial ability and almost no toxic-ity to the ***,the coating provided photothermal performance through the light absorption of Cur,which was encapsulated byβ-CD to improve its *** enhanced the binding force between the drug and the *** novel coating designated the potential application on bioab-sorbable magnesium alloys.

Surgical failures,caused by postoperative infections of bone implants,are commonly met,which cannot be treated precisely with intravenous *** therapy(PTT)and photodynamic therapy(PDT)have attracted widespread attention due to their non-invasive antibacterial effects on tissues and no bacterial resistance,which may be an excellent approach to solve infections related to bone implants for biodegradable magnesium ***,a sodium copper chlorophyllin(SCC)with a porphyrin ring induced Ca-P coating was prepared on AZ31 magnesium alloy via layer-by-layer(LbL)*** morphology and composition of the samples were characterized through field emission scanning electron microscope(FE-SEM)with affiliated energy dispersive spectrometer(EDS),X-ray diffractometer(XRD),and Fourier infrared spectrometer(FTIR)and X-ray photoelectron spectrometer(XPS)as *** polarization,electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS)and hydrogen evolution experiments were employed to evaluate the corrosion behavior of the *** absorption spectrophotometer was used to measure Cu elemental content of different immersion *** and antibacterial performance of the coatings were probed using in vitro cytotoxicity tests(MTT assay),live/dead cell staining and plate counting *** results showed that the obtained(Ca-P/SCC)10 coating exhibited good corrosion resistance,antimicrobial activity(especially under 808 nm irradiation)and *** antibacterial rates for *** and *** were 99.9%and 99.8%,respectively;and the photothermal conversion efficiency was as high as 42.1%.Triple antibacterial mechanisms including photodynamic,photothermal reactions and copper-ions release were *** coating exhibited a promising application for biodegradable magnesium alloys.

AIM: To study persistence and replication of hepatitis C virus (HCV) in patients' peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) cultured in vitro. METHODS: Epstein Barr virus (EBV) was used to transform the hepatitis C virus from a HCV positive patient to permanent lymphoblastoid cell lines (LCL). Positive and negative HCV RNA strands of the cultured cells and growth media were detected by reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) each month. Core and NS5 proteins of HCV were further tested using immunohistochemical SP method and in situ RT-PCR. RESULTS: HCV RNA positive strands were consistently detected the cultured cells for one year. The negative-strand RNA in LCL cells and the positive-strand RNA in supernatants were observed intermittently. Immunohistochemical results medicated expression of HCV NS3 and C proteins in LCL cytoplasm mostly. The positive signal of PCR product was dark blue and mainly localized to the LCL cytoplasm. The RT-PCR signal was eliminated by overnight RNase digestion but not DNase digestion. CONCLUSION: HCV may exist and remain functional in a cultured cell line for a long period.

Molecular recognition was utilized to fabricate bioinspired calcium phosphate （Ca-P） coating on bioabsorbable magnesium alloys through small biomolecules such as Vitamin C （VC）.Ca-P and VC hybrid coating (Ca-PVC) was successfully fabricated on AZ31 Mg *** surface morphology and chemical composition of the coatings were investigated using SEM,XRD,and FTIR together with *** results showed that the Ca-PVCcoating was composed of bamboo leaf-like Ca-P particles with a thickness of about three times that of the Ca-P *** surface roughness of the Ca-PVCcoating （1.12±0.12μm） was lower than that （3.14±1.93μm） of Ca-P coating,suggesting the formation of refined Ca-P particles resulting from the VC *** corrosion resistance of the coated samples was characterized via electrochemical polarization,impedance spectroscopy,and immersion hydrogen evolution *** cell toxicity of the coated samples was evaluated utilizing mouse MC3T3-E1 *** charge transfer resistance (Rct) of the Ca-PVCcoated alloy increased as compared to the bare and Ca-P coated alloy *** Ca-PVCcoated alloy exhibited minimal corrosion current density (1.36×10-6A cm-2),which is one order of magnitude lower in comparison to that of the Ca-P coated *** results confirm that VC addition greatly enhanced the coating resistance on AZ31 Mg *** was also noticed that the Ca-PVCcoated samples rapidly induced the formation of apatite after immersion in Hank’s *** was mainly transformed to L-Threonic acid,which facilitated the nucleation process of the Ca-PVCcoating and significantly increased the thickness,density,and bonding strength of the *** enhanced corrosion resistance property and excellent biocompatibility,Ca-PVCcoating has great potential for application in biodegradable Mg-based alloys.

The design and synthesis of vanadium-based denitration catalysts with low-temperature activity pose significant challenges in the field of toxic gas *** this study,we have developed a novel approach to fabricate highly efficient V2O5-WO3/TiO2monolithic mesh catalysts for NOxreduction at low ***,TiO2nanosheets with strong adhesion and large surface area were grown on Ti mesh using plasma electrolytic oxidation technology and hydrothermal ***,super-small traces of WO3and V2O5active nano-species were subsequently deposited on TiO2nanosheets using the deposition-precipitation *** to traditional ceramic-based V2O5-WO3/TiO2catalysts,our V2O5-WO3/TiO2monolithic mesh catalyst exhibits superior mechanical performance,excellent thermal conductivity,lower pressure drop,higher utilization of active components,and stronger synergistic ***,the V2O5-WO3/TiO2monolithic mesh catalysts exhibited excellent low-temperature catalytic activity with 98% of NOxconversion at 220℃,and remarkable long-term SO2tolerance and water resistance in the selective catalytic reduction（SCR） of NOxwith *** SCR reaction of tiny V2O5and WO3active species supported on TiO2nanosheets directly demonstrated to follow the Eley-Rideal mechanism by in situ infrared spectra.
