Multidisciplinary Design Optimization with a New Effective Method

Collaborative optimization （CO） is one of the most widely used methods in multidisciplinary design optimization （MDO）, which is an effective methodology to solve modem complex engineering problems. CO consists of two-level optimization problems which are system optimization problem and subspace optimization problem. The architecture of CO can reserve the autonomy of individual disciplines in maximum, while providing a mechanism for coordinating design problem. However, CO has low computation efficiency and is easy to diverge. For the purpose of solving these problems, the former improved methods were studied. The relaxation factors were used to change the system consistency constraints to inequality constraints, or the response surface estimation was used to surrogate the system consistency constraints. However, these methods didn＇t avoid the computational difficulties very well, furthermore, some new problems arose. The concept of optimum constraint sensitivity was proposed, and the quadratic constraints in system level were reformed. Hence, a new collaborative optimization was developed, which is called system level dynamic constraint collaborative optimization （DCCO）. The novel method is able to increase the exchange of information between system level and disciplinary level. The optimization results of each disciplinary optimization can be feedback to system level with the optimum constraint sensitivity. On the basis of the information, the new system level linear dynamic constraints can be constructed; it is better to reflect the effect of disciplinary level optimizations. The system level optimizer can clearly capture the boundary where disciplinary objective functions become zero, and considerably enhance the convergence. Two standard MDO examples were conducted to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of DCCO. The results show that DCCO can save the solving time, and is much better in terms of convergence and robustness, hence, the new method is more effi

Carbon-based fluorescent nanomaterials have gained much attention in recent *** this work,greenphotoluminescent carbon nanodots(CNDs;also termed carbon dots,CDs)with amine termination were synthesized via the hydrothermal treatment of amine-containing spermine and rose bengal(RB)*** CNDs have an ultrasmall size of~2.2 nm and present bright photoluminescence with a high quantum yield of~80%which is possibly attributed to the loss of halogen atoms(Cl and I)during the hydrothermal *** from most CNDs which have multicolor fluorescence emission,the asprepared CNDs possess excitation-independent emission property,which can avoid fluorescence overlap with other fluorescent ***,the weakly basic amine-terminated surface endows the CNDs with the acidotropic *** a result,the CNDs can accumulate in the acidic lysosomes after cellular internalization and can serve as a favorable agent for lysosome ***,the CNDs have a negligible impact on the lysosomal morphology even after 48 h incubation and exhibit excellent biocompatibility in the used cell models.

Aiming at the development of parallel hybrid electric vehicle （PHEV） powertrain, parameter matching and optimization are presented, According to the performance of PHEV, the optimization range of engine, motor, driveline gear ratio and battery parameters are determined. And then a two-level optimization problem is formulated based on analytical target cascading （ATC）. At the system level, the optimization of the whole vehicle fuel economy is carried out, while the tractive performance is defined as the constraints. The optimized parameters are cascaded to the subsystem as the optimization targets. At the subsystem level, the final drive and transmission design are optimized to make the ratios as close to the targets as possible. The optimization result shows that the fuel economy had improved significantly, while the tractive performance maintains the former level.

A robust topology optimization design framework is developed to solve lightweight structural design problems under uncertain conditions. To enhance the calculation accuracy and flexibility of the statistical moments of robust analysis, number theory integral method is applied to sample point selection and weight assignment. Both the structure topology optimization and number theory integral methods are combined to form a new robust topology optimization method. A suspension control arm problem is provided as a demonstration of robust topology optimization methods under loading uncertainties. Based on the results of deterministic and robust topology optimization, it is demonstrated that the proposed robust topology optimization method can produce a more robust design than that obtained by deterministic topology optimization. It is also found that this new approach is easy to apply in the existing commercial topology optimization software and thus feasible in practical engineering problems.

Experimental study on the effects of drying methods on the stabilities of lignite

The drying processes are always applied prior to the transportation or utilization of lignite, and result in notable changes in the stabilities of lignite. In this paper, the study on the effects of nitrogen and MTE drying process on the physico-chemical properties and stabilities of Zhaotung lignite was carried out. The briquettes produced by MTE drying in this study were 150 mm in dimension, and so had a much larger particle size than nitrogen- dried samples. Nitrogen adsorption, mercury intrusion porosimetry and scanning electron microscopy all suggested that drying was accompanied by the transformation of larger pores into smaller ones. Compared to nitrogen drying, the pore structures could be stabilized by the MTE process. The soluble salts were removed during MTE drying which resulted in the decrease in ash and the concentrations of some of the major metals. The removal of water enhanced the hydrophilicity of nitrogen dried samples, but did not affect the hydrophilicity of MTE dried samples. The moisture holding capacity of MTE dried samples reduced faster than nitrogen dried samples with the decrease of residual moisture content. The moisture readsorption processes of MTE dried sam- ples were strongly inhibited due to the much larger particle size of sample produced by MTE drying than nitrogen drying. The susceptibility to spontaneous combustion, indicated by cross point temperature and self-heating tests, of nitrogen and MTE dried samples increased with the decrease of residual moisture content. The MTE dried samples are more liable to spontaneous combustion than nitrogen dried samples with the same residual moisture and particle size. However, the larger particle size of the MTE product made it more stable with respect to spontaneous combustion and also moisture readsorption.

为提高冬小麦冠层光谱对叶绿素含量的估算精度,以陕西省乾县冬小麦为研究对象,利用SVC-1024i光谱仪和SPAD-502型叶绿素仪实测了冬小麦冠层反射率和叶绿素含量,分析了一阶导数光谱、10种特征参数和9种植被指数与叶绿素含量的相关性,并利用主成分分析(PCA)对叶绿素敏感的可见光波段(390~780 nm)一阶导数光谱进行降维,将特征值大于1的主分量结合特征参数和植被指数形成不同的输入变量,用偏最小二乘回归和随机森林回归构建冬小麦冠层叶绿素估算模型,并利用独立样本对模型进行验证。结果表明,小麦冠层叶绿素含量与一阶导数光谱在751 nm处的相关性最高(r=0.71),特征参数中红边蓝边归一化(SDr-SDb)/(SDr+SDb)与叶绿素含量的相关性最高(r=0.66),植被指数(VI)中修正归一化差异指数(mND705)相关性最高(r=0.74)。在输入变量相同的情况下,基于随机森林(RF)回归的预测模型均优于偏最小二乘回归(PLSR)模型,其中PCA-VI-RF模型的各精度指标均达到最优(r^(2)=0.94,RMSE=1.05,RPD=3.70),是冬小麦冠层叶绿素含量估算的最优模型。
