TheⅣ-Ⅵcompound GeTe is considered as a promising alternative to the toxic PbTe for high-efficiency mid-temperature thermoelectric ***,pristine GeTe suffers from a high concentration of Ge vacancies,resulting in an excessively high hole concentration(>1×10^(21)cm^(-3)),which greatly limits its thermoelectric *** address this issue,CubiTe_(2)alloying is introduced to increase the formation energy of Ge vacancies in GeTe,thereby inhibiting the high carrier *** carrier scattering caused by the electronegativity difference between different elements is suppressed due to the similar electronegativity of Cu and Ge atoms.A relatively high hole mobility is obtained,which ultimately leads to a high power ***,by introducing Se as an alloying element at the anionic site in GeTe,dense point defects with mass/strainfield fluctuations are *** contributes to the strengthening of phonon scattering,thereby reducing the lattice thermal conductivity from 1.44 W·m^(-1)·K^(-1)for pristine GeTe to 0.28 W·m^(-1)·K^(-1)for Ge_(0.95)Cu_(0.05)bi_(0.05)Te_(0.9)Se_(0.15)compound at 623 K.

An efficient synthetic route to muurolane type sesquiterpenes starting from （R）-carvone, employing allylic diazene rearrangement and the ring closing methesis （RCM） reaction as key steps, is described. The first asymmetric total synthesis of （-）-10α- hydroxy-4-muurolen-3-one 11 and （-）-10β-hydroxy-4-muurolen-3-one C was accomplished. Through the total synthesis, the absolute configurations of the natural products A, B and C were established.

Valsartan 1, one of the most important agents used in antihypertensive therapy today, was synthesized starting from L-valin methyl ester hydrochloride 2 through four steps in an overall yield of 60%. The key step involves the palladium-catalyzed Suzuki coupling. This method overcomes many of the drawbacks associated with the previously reported syntheses and is more suitable for industrial production.

The Circular Electron Positron Collider(CEPC)is a large scientific project initiated and hosted by China,fostered through extensive collaboration with international *** complex comprises four accelerators:a 30 GeV linac,a 1.1 GeV Damping Ring,a Booster capable of achieving energies up to 180 GeV,and a Collider operating at varying energy modes(Z,W,H,and tt).The linac and Damping Ring are situated on the surface,while the subterranean Booster and Collider are housed in a 100 km circumference underground tunnel,strategically accommodating future expansion with provisions for a potential Super Proton Proton Collider(SPPC).The CEPC primarily serves as a Higgs *** its baseline design with synchrotron radiation(SR)power of 30 MW per beam,it can achieve a luminosity of 5×10^(34)cm^(-2)s^(-1)per interaction point(IP),resulting in an integrated luminosity of 13 ab^(-1)for two IPs over a decade,producing 2.6 million Higgs *** the SR power to 50 MW per beam expands the CEPC's capability to generate 4.3 million Higgs bosons,facilitating precise measurements of Higgs coupling at sub-percent levels,exceeding the precision expected from the HL-LHC by an order of *** Technical Design Report(TDR)follows the Preliminary Conceptual Design Report(Pre-CDR,2015)and the Conceptual Design Report(CDR,2018),comprehensively detailing the machine's layout,performance metrics,physical design and analysis,technical systems design,R&D and prototyping efforts,and associated civil engineering ***,it includes a cost estimate and a preliminary construction timeline,establishing a framework for forthcoming engineering design phase and site selection *** is anticipated to begin around 2027-2028,pending government approval,with an estimated duration of 8 *** commencement of experiments and data collection could potentially be initiated in the mid-2030s.

5-Fluorouracil(5-fu)is known as a first-line chemotherapeutic agent against colorectal cancer(CRC),but drug resistance occurs frequently and significantly limits its clinical *** previous study showed that the protocadherin 17(PCDH17)gene was frequently methylated and functioned as a tumor suppressor in ***,the relationship between PCDH17 and 5-fu resistance in CRC remains ***,we revealed that PCDH17 was more highly expressed in 5-fu-sensitive CRC tissues than in 5-fu-resistant CRC tissues,and high expression of PCDH17 was correlated with high BECN1 ***,this expression profile contributed to superior prognosis and increased survival in CRC *** PCDH17 expression augmented the 5-fu sensitivity of CRC in vitro and in vivo by promoting apoptosis and autophagic cell ***,autophagy played a dominant role in PCDH17-induced cell death,as an autophagy inhibitor blocked cell death to a greater extent than the pancaspase inhibitor ***17 inhibition by siRNA decreased the autophagy response and 5-fu ***,we showed that c-Jun NH2-terminal kinase(JNK)activation was a key determinant in PCDH17-induced *** compound SP600125,an inhibitor of JNK,suppressed autophagy and 5-fu-induced cell death in PCDH17-reexpressing CRC *** together,our findings suggest for the first time that PCDH17 increases the sensitivity of CRC to 5-fu treatment by inducing apoptosis and JNK-dependent autophagic cell ***17 may be a potential prognostic marker for predicting 5-fu sensitivity in CRC patients.

Background Data on the epidemiology of hypertension in Chinese non-dialysis chronic kidney disease （CKD） patients are *** aim of the present study was to investigate the prevalence,awareness,treatment,and control of hypertension in the non-dialysis CKD patients through a nationwide,multicenter study in *** The survey was performed in 61 tertiary hospitals in 31 provinces,municipalities,and autonomous regions in China （except Hong Kong,Macao,and Taiwan）.Trained physicians collected demographic and clinical data and measured blood pressure （BP） using a standardized *** was defned as systolic BP ≥140 mmHg and/or diastolic BP ≥90 mmHg,and/or use of antihypertensive *** 〈140/90 mmHg and 〈130/80 mmHg were used as the 2 thresholds of hypertension *** multivariate logistic regression with adjustment for sex and age,we analyzed the association between CKD stages and uncontrolled hypertension in non-dialysis CKD *** The analysis included 8927 non-dialysis CKD *** prevalence,awareness,and treatment of hypertension in non-dialysis CKD patients were 67.3%,85.8%,and 81.0%,*** hypertensive CKD patients,33.1% and 14.1% had controlled BP to 〈140/90 mmHg and 〈130/80 mmHg,*** successive CKD stages,the prevalence of hypertension in non-dialysis CKD patients increased,but the control of hypertension decreased （P〈0.001）.When the threshold of BP 〈130/80 mmHg was considered,the risk of uncontrolled hypertension in CKD 2,3a,3b,4,and 5 stages increased 1.3,1.4,1.4,2.5,and 4.0 times compared with CKD 1 stage,respectively （P〈0.05）.Using the threshold of 〈140/90 mmHg,the risk of uncontrolled hypertension increased in advanced stages （P〈0.05）.Conclusions The prevalence of hypertension Chinese non-dialysis CKD patients was high,and the hypertension control was *** successive CKD stages,the risk of uncontrolled hypertension increased.
